My lovely wife, Kathy, was a resident at ActivCare at Mission Bay from April, 2017, until she passed on August 31, 2023. I can’t say enough about the management and staff of the facility, and the design and operation of all the programs and services they provide. Kathy had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for years, and the heartbreaking day finally arrived when I could no longer care for her needs. Fortunately, I was introduced to ActivCare at Mission Bay by an eldercare advocate, and from my first meeting with Dawn DeStephani, the Executive Director, and Jeremy, the Program Director, and a tour of the facility, I knew I had found the right place for my wife. Taking that step to place her in a facility was extremely difficult for both of us, but the staff and management showed us both much love and compassion and made the transition as painless as possible. Over the next 6 years, 4 months, through all the progressive stages of Alzheimer’s, and even a bout of Covid-19, she was cared for lovingly by all, and I have come to love them all like family. ActivCare was a blessing for us both and she was very involved in the activities and functions provided while she was able. The facility is very warm and welcoming, the food is outstanding, everything is always clean and organized, and the care and love shown by all the staff is always amazing. As a long time client, I give the highest recommendation possible for ActivCare at Mission Bay.

ActivCare Mission Bay is a wonderful facility. My mother has been there for almost 4 years. Everyone is so caring and thorough. They take wonderful care of my mother and keep me informed on her health. It is bright and sunny with several outdoor patios. It smells clean and fresh. My mother says the food is good and the many activities are interesting. I know my mother is in good hands.

Active Care Mission Bay...A good place for tough situation. I have over the years actively partnered with the team at active care to provide what's best for my clients. This is not a giant facility that oversells useless amenities. This is a small community that works hard and takes a team approach to progressive dementia. I've been involved with this facility for many years and have personally spoken to many of the staff and residents here. ActivCare is easily the best home for anyone suffering from alzheimer's, dementia or any ailment that requires fulltime care. The staff is extremely friendly and Jeremy is incredible at answering questions and ensuring residents are well taken care of. They have nurses available at all hours and activities throughout the day to keep residents active mentally and physically. The food is also well-prepared and good from what I've heard! Activcare Mission Bay is such an incredibly unique place. If you want your loved one to be treated with kindness, compassion, and respect, then this is the place. My sweet Mama, Dorothy was always treated like an individual and never just like a part of a job. The love that you feel in this building is so beautiful that I decided to start volunteering just a couple months after my Mama got her angel wings. My father-in-law has been receiving five star care for over a year at ActivCare. Every single employee is professional, helpful, caring and skilled at what they do. They make going through this tough time for a family, much more bearable. I highly recommend this home for your loved one.

They took great care of both of my parents. Many of the staff truly loved my folks, and many of the same staff were still there 3 years later( even through Covid).

I used to hold weekly church services, on Sunday afternoons, for those who wished to participate. Although I did not have a loved one being cared for here, I was pleased to return weekly. The facilities were welcoming, they appeared as if you entered a hotel lobby. Once they took you into the protected area it resembled a sort of well organized rec room. There was no "smell" or people in corners forgotten. Families were visiting, others were interacting with staff. Everyone was dresses with shoes on. I have to say because family members were allowed to attend the service and be in the room, I was taken in by some of the residents. Being dressed and well groomed I did not know I was speaking with a resident, and not a new visitor. One of the nurses would kindly walk over to me and in passing whisper that I was speaking to a resident. Have no worries, your loved one will be well cared for here.
