Kenny was extremely prompt and helpful. When registering for my course, it was ambiguous gauging which courses were actually required before the in person portion, causing a delay in completion. Kenny was able to clear all that up for me. If I were to provide any feedback, it would revolve around that.
I am waiting to see how my Friday in person portion will go and will circle back with an update then.
Update: Great in person lesson — review updated to 5 stars 👍🏼
Hi David,
We apologize for any inconvenience caused. As today is Friday, our customer support line is exceptionally busy. We also make callbacks to missed calls when our lines are free; we called you back several times about an hour later, but unfortunately, no one answered. Regarding the additional courses that require purchasing which you mentioned, after you purchase our course, we automatically send a course confirmation email. This email includes the activation link for the online courses you've purchased, which you can simply click to access without needing to buy any additional content. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call us at 408-443-3055, or email us at cpr@usjus.org. We typically respond to emails within two hours :)

I have been obtaining my CPR/BLS for over 35 years. I have never been as shocked as I was by the class offered here. All basic rules (I.e., you must complete the online portion before attending the in person skills day) were ignored. 2/5 of the CPR manikins didn’t work. But some of the most glaring problems stemmed from the instructor. She didn’t correct ANYTHING that was being done inaccurately aside from the lights on the manikin not being solely green. Wrong hand placement, too fast compressions, ineffective ventilations, not allowing the chest to fully recoil—nothing. We were never asked to practice CPR all the way through the exercise, from checking responsiveness of the patient through restarting CPR after using the AED. She never checked to see if we limited our interruptions to 10 seconds. She never even corrected someone doing infant CPR upside down. Perhaps she didn’t notice everything in our 7-person class, but she even demonstrated abdominal thrusts as placing her hands on the patient’s sternum. When asked if she wanted us to do the chest thrust vs the abdominal thrust, she verified abdominal, and repeated placing her hands on the sternum.
I am horrified to think that the people of this class are under the assumption they have the skills to help someone in respiratory or cardiac arrest or is even choking !
Dear Amy,
Thank you very much for your feedback and suggestions. We sincerely apologize for the poor experience you had in our class. We take such concerns very seriously and will immediately investigate the matter to understand what happened.
We have strict guidelines for conducting our classes, and if the instructor has failed to meet these standards, we will take appropriate action. Please be assured that we are committed to providing high-quality training to all our students.
To address your concerns, we will offer all students from that class a free skills session with a more experienced instructor if necessary. We will also thoroughly review and evaluate the instructor's performance and provide additional training to ensure she meets our standards. As you mentioned, she is a new instructor, and we will ensure that a trainer supervises her classes moving forward.
Regardless of the outcome of our investigation, we understand that this situation caused you significant inconvenience and dissatisfaction. As a gesture of our apology, we would like to offer you a free skills training session at a time of your choice with a more experienced instructor. We hope this will help restore your confidence in our training program.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding.
Best regards,
ICCPRA Team

The in-person portion of this course was straightforward and comprehensive. I came out feeling confident in all the areas we reviewed from our online section for CPR and first-aid.
