Had a wonderful trip with Ollie Taylor to the Lofoten Islands in Norway. His ability and enthusiasm to find the best photographic spots for us was first-rate. He also did a phenomenal job in setting us up for some great aurora viewing (luck needed too!). Great personality. Have already booked another trip with Ollie Taylor Photography.

Ollie is a passionate and talented photographer with excellent knowledge of different landscapes and countries. I would highly recommend him to anyone wishing to take their photography to the next step and explore new terrain. He is very trustworthy, reliable and a good laugh. Thanks Ollie for a memorable trip.

Recently attended the La Palma course with Ollie and would highly recommend this to anyone with a love for Astrophotography. Ollie’s knowledge of the area and what would be visible where, meant every trip out we came back with a variety of images and no location was a dud. He also helped massively with planning your own trips and gave a great guide on PhotoPills. Ollie also assisted me greatly with the technical side as I’ve never imaged the Milky Way with a DSLR, yet I came away feeling like a pro! After this and his post-processing guide I now have pictures I’d be happy to hang on my walls!

I'm a long-term client of Ollie's and that I keep going back speaks volumes. Ollie's workshops and tours are a cut-above the rest, for sure. He knows his stuff, his locations and is only too keen to do all that he can to ensure that his clients get the best out of their time with him. On a recent trip to Iceland with him (December 2022), he completely rearranged the itinerary on the fly, hunting out the best weather. For astrophotography or, in this case, Aurora, that's clear skies predominantly. Most, if not all, other photographers set their itinerary, book their accommodation well in advance and will stick with it come hell or high water (or, in the case of Iceland, blizzards and meters of snow). That sets Ollie apart. I will certainly use Ollie again; Iceland once more in December 2023 and Madeira in June 2024 are already booked. In short ... Ollie is a good guy. Give him a try ... you won't regret it.

My first photo workshop was done in a very spontaneous way when I was looking to improve my skills in landscape photography and especially astrophotography. So I joined Ollie's Dolomites workshop at the last minute and I really don't regret it. So it was only natural that I chose him for a second workshop in La Palma and I'm sure it won't be the last one... He gives his all to satisfy you despite sometimes hazards beyond his control, regardless of your physical level or photography. Thank you very much Ollie for all these moments and memories and see you soon for a next workshop under the stars...

I've recently come back from one of Ollie Taylor's Astrophotography trips to La Palma which was so good I immediately booked on next years trip. Having been on several of his workshops over the years, the one thing in common with all of them is that he puts 100% into ensuring that everyone gets the best out of it whether you're a beginner or more experienced and despite the vagaries of the weather (a perennial nightmare for astrophotography). I can thoroughly recommend his workshops and guided trips, you certainly won't be disappointed by his professional approach and of course his skills as a superb landscape and astro-photographer, skills he happily shares with you to improve your own efforts.

In short, I wholeheartedly recommend Ollie’s workshops. Not only is he a great photographer but also a great travel companion, who will go at great lengths to ensure you have a truly unforgettable experience. My photo trip in Iceland with him was by far the best one I’ve ever had.

I joined Ollie for a workshop in Tenerife in May 2022. I would highly recommend joining one of these workshops; Ollie is very knowledgeable, experienced and great to work with. This was my first workshop with Ollie and he exceeded my expectations. The main point of a workshop is to learn something new and come away with some new skills, and I certainly did.

Ollie comes highly recommended. I’m just back from his astrophotography workshop in Tenerife during which we learned some entirely new (to me) ways to photograph the Milky Way. How to scout locations very precisely in advance, how to use star trackers and why/when to use various focal lengths. We got plenty of practice in some wonderful locations. He knows his stuff and is very well prepared (he’s constantly making and re-making plans to dodge bad weather/make the most of the time).

I have been on a number of workshops with Ollie and there are a number of things for me that standout on Ollie’s workshops compared to others. Ollie is passionate about what he does and that shows by the time he spends with his attendees and the detail and knowledge that he tries to pass on to them. Planning is something that is constant, he will always be thinking ahead and have backup plans in his head in case conditions change. Others courses I have been on just stay in one location no matter what the conditions but not with Ollie, we always manage to get in a number of locations, this makes it such a more productive workshop. I feel that I have learnt so much from Ollie and this reaped its rewards by one of my images taken on one of his workshop being shortlisted in the Astro photographer of the year and I was published in the APOY book. I highly recommend Ollie’s workshops to anyone wanting to learn from the best. Rob Bowes

I've been on several of Ollie's workshops the latest being in Tenerife. As always Ollie worked hard to ensure everyone got great shots from a wide variety of locations. You simply can't fault his energy and creativity. Highly recommended if you want to learn about night/astro photography and aren't afraid of long cold nights!

it's pretty easy to put a review up online for something or someone.. Linked-in is full of blah blah blah.. But just like a good restaurant.. when you find someone who has such a great talent.. maybe you should keep quiet..but that's not for me. I joined Ollie's recent trip to Lofoten rather late.. with just one shot I was after. I'd never really done filters and tripods and long time exposures. But Ollie made it a breeze, He had hand picked a variety of locations, pre checked then out during the day and night before. Checked the tides, the North vs South and every angle in between. Then with a frequent update on solar weather, sunset times and clear skies forecast we were off. What a truly amazing trip. not only did he do a mass of work in advance, but he ensured the places we stayed, and the roads we took were spot on. When the weather looked a little risky he ensured we were all heading in the same direction .... away from the avalanches. Score 100%, 10 out of 10.. however you describe it.. Whilst nothing is certain in life.. and we think of ourselves as being lucky.. To be lucky.. you have to be there... Right time, right place, right people. Thanks Ollie for a fabulous and memorable trip..and bringing us such great "Luck" I will be back..

I have just concluded attending a Photography workshop in Lofoten Islands. Norway and what a workshop it was !!! I had great time in it not only taking amazing photos of the Aurora and winter photography landscape but also meeting amazing people with passion to photography. The workshop was led by Ollie Taylor whom I was pleased to join one of his offered workshop earlier. The distinctive thing about Ollie, other than being a professional photographer with an amazing disposition of professional work, is that he always ensures that no matter what is your level of knowledge in photography that all of your questions will be answered. Should you need any assistance in the location, he will attend to that. Also he is very generous in sharing his knowledge which I recognize as a sign of a confident photographer and true educator. I attended a workshop, ages ago, in which the lead photographer was so cautious of sharing his knowledge because the question I asked was "related to another workshop” of his !!!! I would confidently recommend to anyone attending any of Ollie’s workshops because the learning curve is noticeable once you leave the workshop and as one of the attendees said it on the last day as we were having our last lunch together “with Ollie you will always witness the Aurora” .

Ollie is not just famous for being bullied by the SNP, his work is fantastic, the very best of Scotland's scenery, not to mention an extensive portfolio of excellent work from the UK and beyond,

I have been on a few of Ollie's workshops (Iceland and Slovenia) as well as a one 2 one. His tution is superb as well as the amount of effort he puts into to make sure it is a success for everyone taking part and not only that he also explains a bit about post production.

I have been a passionate photographer for many years, having studied and continuing it as a hobby. As a keen member of my local photography club I explore all genres. When I first had a desire to learn Astrophotography, having always been interested but intimidated by my lack of knowledge in what seemed a very complex genre, I searched on the internet and found Ollie’s site, originally signing up for a workshop in the Dolomites. It was the first workshop I have attended and was unsure of what to expect, but Ollie was quick and helpful to answer any questions or quieries I had about the trip. The group of around 4 photographers were kept informed in the lead up and all introduced. I can’t say anything but positive remarks when it comes to the workshop, knowledge imparted and passion I have come away with. The others on the workshop were wonderful companions and Ollie’s knowledge, guidance, experience and teaching style were perfect. The accommodation was great and itinerary tailored to the weather was ideal. I came away not only with an amazing experience, memories, photographs and knowledge on the subject which furthered my photography and allowed me to now go out and feel confident on my own, but a deep routed passion in landscape and Astrophotography, and astronomy. Since doing this I have joined him to Iceland, and have booked onto the Tenerife 2020 workshop and plan to continue, coming away with more knowledge, passion and having had an amazing time with people I now consider friends. For some work examples from my Dolomitse and Iceland trip my Instagram is: henryfrakes.
