This place allowed me to feel an inner peace that I had not experienced in far too long. In my time here I have definitely felt part of the most loving, supportive and nurturing families. The facilitators here have always been so dedicated in their care over the eighteen days that I have been a resident here...there has never been a question of needing support as they are fully there at every turn. The location itself is also beautiful, the food nourishing and the way the retreats themselves are organised are incredibly well thought out. I like many of the wonderful people I have met in my time here will certainly be back. I really believe this place to be of greatly insightful benefit to my own experience of being human. It has taught me so much of the importance of dedicated healing. I am eternally grateful.

Attending a retreat at Lawayra was one of my life's most profound and enriching experiences. Drawn to it through a group of friends, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Having worked with other psychedelic medicines on a mostly solo basis in the past, I already appreciated the profound transformational possibilities they could unlock. However, this was my first time working with Ayahuasca and experiencing a ceremonial setting. What awaited me at Lawayra far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with such warm hospitality that I instantly felt at home. The staff and facilitators at Lawayra have created a sanctuary of healing, growth, and introspection. The program is designed with so much professionalism and intentionality—it was clear from the start that safety and care were of the utmost importance. I felt reassured every step of the way, knowing I was in the hands of people who truly knew and respected this medicine. The ceremonies themselves were sublime and deeply moving. They unfolded with such grace and artistry. I could feel the intention and care poured into every element. Held within this sacred space, I felt guided, protected, and supported—every aspect of the ritual felt like a gift that ultimately culminated in celebration. The setting at Lawayra is magic. Surrounded by Colombia’s lush and stunning landscapes, the retreat combined a structured and productive schedule with plenty of free time to reflect, journal, meditate, or simply relax by the pool. The schedule was beautifully balanced and allowed time for both personal growth and connection with others. Colombia, a country I had admittedly misunderstood before this trip, revealed itself as a mystical, breathtaking place. I’m now eager to return not just for the beauty of the land but for the incredible healing and connection that I found at Lawayra. I would be remiss if I didn’t give my heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff. Clara, Tor, Nikko, Sam, Madhu, Mark, and Sandy—each of you brought something unique to this experience. Your guidance, care, and dedication left a lasting mark on my heart. The way you hold space for others is a testament to your wisdom and compassion. Thank you for making me feel seen, safe, and supported throughout this extraordinary journey. I came in with no expectations , and a curiosity of self. The journey was beautiful, the revelations out of this world. I have changed, my world is changed, my outlook on life and beauty is better. What a perfect place, the staff, from the councillors to the cooks and cleaners all contributed to a magical experience. January 2025- 2nd time at LaWayra and it exceeded expectations again! Sam and his staff are exceptional at what they do! The level of care and love are on another level! If I could give 10 stars, it still wouldn't be enough. Thank you, Sam and your beautiful staff. You have a magical place that you have built. I can't wait to return next year!!!! First, the beauty of the place is out of this world! Sam and his team are all amazing. The love and caring they show is on a whole other level. I can't put a price on my experience here. I am a better person, today for this week. The community of people are so warm and welcoming. Their stories are all so heartfelt and inspiring. It was an honor to be part of their healing journey. I know I have made some lifelong friends/family. I look forward to future adventures!

This was truly a life changing retreat! I was so impressed by the pristine facilities, happy staff, loving volunteers and beautiful location. I have gone on an ayahuasca retreat before, but it was nothing like my time at LaWayra. Sam, the founder, has created such a safe and loving container for healing. You can feel it as soon as you arrive to the center. I felt very prepared for my retreat through multiple workshops and group share sessions. This was helpful to better understand what to expect in the ceremonies with no surprises. The word circle (group share sessions) were a great way to build community and trust with those that were also on the retreat. In addition to the incredible effects of the medicine ceremonies, there were multiple meaningful activities throughout the week that aided me in better connecting with myself, process ceremony experiences, and connect with those on retreat with me. This included activities like yoga, meditation and breath work. Furthermore, the location is absolutely stunning! There is access to a stream, walking trails, and a pool with a view of the mountains. Lastly, the food is delicious! I have already recommended this retreat to multiple friends that I know would benefit from this experience. I am so grateful for everyone at the LaWayra for making my time here so positive. I hope I can come back as a volunteer in the future to show my gratitude.

Words can’t begin to describe how my experience was, but I’ll try. Sam, the volunteers (Clara, Jess, Frank, Tor, Nico, Sandy, Justine), the cleaners, the gardeners, the chefs, the babysitter, Sam’s amazing kids; have created the safest space in the world for you to completely surrender to whatever you need to surrender to. My experience went through trauma which I needed to deal with, finding the root of it, to expelling pain from my body, to love, positive self reflection and affirmation, a new feeling of such self-worth, to a transcendent experience of knowing where I need to go in life. None of that would have been possible without the gift of ayahuasca, and the healing powers it contains. Never in my life have I wanted to tell so many people about this experience, knowing how much it can help them. Thank you so much for everything. For anyone who is considering a retreat this is the place to go. Any apprehension you feel will quickly dissolve with their teachings and ability to navigate your experience. You won’t regret it.

This place is magical, from the staff, the founder and the phenomenal shaman “taita” From the Inga tribe. The way everything works in sync here is a blessing within ceremony and outside of ceremony. My questions were answered and I have a whole new perspective on life. Thank you Lawayra for the pinnacle experience of my life.

My experiences at Lawayra have been absolutely transformative and beyond impactful! I first came to Lawayra with my fiancé in January of 2024 for an 11 day retreat wherein we had the privilege of participating in 6 ceremonies. From that experience I was able to heal from past traumas that I once believed would hold me back forever. I felt so much love from the group and the team and can honestly say that Lawayra is truly my spiritual home. My fiancé and I just completed our second retreat which was 4 ceremonies over the course of a week with the intention of more healing work as well as being spiritually married by Taita. To say that it was magical feels like an understatement. The clearing that came through the ceremonies left us feeling so much lighter and full of gratitude! Our wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, and the group showered us in affirmation! We can’t thank the entire team enough for taking such good care of us—from their thoughtful words, to the meals prepared with love, to the cozy cabin and gorgeous property—we are leaving with full hearts and a loving union that will last this lifetime and beyond!

I’ve been contemplating Ayahuasca since I first heard about it. Many say you should do it when the time is right and you feel the calling. As a Spanish speaker, I had always imagined myself going to Peru and using online research and my Spanish to help me find the right place to partake in this ritual. Due to time restraints with work and the holidays I decided to look elsewhere. I have friends from Medellín that mentioned they had done ceremonies here and since I’ve been visiting Medellín for 10 years it felt like a safe place to explore. I am grateful that my journey lead me to Lawayra. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff and people here. The property is incredible and pictures don’t do it justice. The level of professionalism and gentle approach allows one to trust the process and fosters the atmosphere necessary to do the inner work we’re all looking to do. I’m eternally grateful for my 7 days here and couldn’t have been in better hands for my fist time experiencing the profound healing of ayahuasca.
