So disappointed with the lack of communication and support from TCM for the 131 residents of Kamerunga Villas at Lake Placid. It’s been 7 days since the site was flooded and the Villas have been without power. We’ve heard on the grapevine and from social media that power might be restored at the earliest next Tuesday, after Christmas. Even the suburbs Machans Beach and Holloways Beach that were flooded worse than Lake Placid have power. Champs Electrical have been amazing in working onsite but TCM you have been MIA. Edit. Thank you for your reply. Today will be 12 days these residents are without power. There have been 3 emails from TCM, two on the 19th Dec and one on the 20th. These emails relayed little information on what we already knew, that there was a problem with the power supply. The frustration of residents is that communication has come via the electrical contractors to some residents who have then relayed this info to other residents via the villas social media. I have not seen any rep from TCM onsite and none of the many residents I have spoken to have met anyone from TCM. That the last email on 20th advised likely increased levies is an affront to people who have been left to rely on eachother for support. It seems ‘purely administrative’ negates a caring aspect to your role. Was Steve or anyone from TCM at the meeting yesterday to support the committee address the residents with the update? Sorry, I forgot, your office is closed for your Christmas break.

Dear Coral. We understand that you, Alan, and residents at Kamerunga Villas must be feeling incredibly frustrated. Our hearts go out to everyone in Lake Placid and Caravonica as we know these areas were badly affected by flooding. Per our reply to Alan Wilkinsons similar review, we were disappointed to read you felt TCM Strata was 'MIA'. We issued multiple communications to clients, both before and after Cyclone Jasper and the subsequent flooding. These circulars contained comprehensive information to assist those who had sustained damage during the floods. Further to this, we have provided regular updates on our social media pages and website. Your Strata Manager, Steve, has also spoken to many owners and has been assisting in any way he can. Please understand that our role is purely administrative - Strata Managers are not Caretaker/Onsite Managers, and we certainly don't have any control over power outages resulting from severe natural disasters, nor do we have the capacity to supply generators (as suggested by Alan). This is from a practical perspective, not through lack of compassion. We are doing all that we can to assist in this situation, however support from governing authorities and the community is also essential given the magnitude of this. There appears to be a misinformed view of the role we are engaged to perform. We are willing to accept blame and consequences where appropriate and will always endeavour to make things right. However, in this case, your blame appears to be unwarranted, given our team acted without delay for your scheme, and have been working tirelessly over the last few weeks, helping those who have endured flood damage. Please understand that our role is purely administrative - Strata Managers are not Caretaker nor Onsite Managers. We are not based onsite and act based upon the instruction of the committee, who in the absence of a Caretaker / Onsite Manager are responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the common property. No one has any control over natural disasters nor the damage they cause and this severe flooding in our region caused considerable damage to the underground wiring at Kamerunga Villas. As such, this will take substantial time to rectify before Ergon Energy can reconnect power to all lots. Kamerunga Villas falls under the Standard Format Plan (SFP), which means that all owners within this body corporate are responsible for procuring their own building insurance for their lot. We recommend that you contact your insurer and enquire if they can supply generators, or if you can lodge a claim for the purchase of a generator. Further, it would be worth asking your building insurer, and if applicable, contents insurer about other policy inclusions that may provide some financial relief and assistance during this time. We assure you that we are here to assist as are the electricians on board. We are all doing all that we can and hope that the power can be reinstated to all lots as soon as possible.

The Strata Managers of Kamerunga Villas have not bothered to supply generators for the residents who have been without power for at least a week now. There has been little to no communication from the Strata manager to the residents! This is atrocious!!!!

Five stars do not seem enough for her outstanding performance.
