Staying at the Kestrel lodge even with Storm Darragh trying to spoil our time, away with woinds and power cuts,nothing was too much for the owner Sarah. Torches are available to hand in these situations,regular updates were provided to advise when power would be back on,all in all was a very nice stay. The entire lodge was cleaned fantastically, and this is coming from someone with OCD. I checked everywhere to ensure it was clean and it was! whoever is the cleaning company used, they are fabulous,put my mind at ease.The Sono sound system in the property was a great addtion,with a spotify account it just helped getting into the holiday spirit. Great links on the tv for cosy nights in,card games for if you ever got bored of devices which my partner and i throughly enjoyed. What a great gem! my partner and i will definately consider coming again in the spring or summer. Fantastic views of the woods and the meadows which go on for miles and miles and can be seen from your hot tub,just a place of peace and serenity. I would reccomend this lodge 1000 times over,great little vibe.

We booked Barn Owl Retreat at short notice and the service and speed of response from Sarah was first class. We absolutely loved the retreat and just what we needed. It has everything you will need for a relaxing break. The design of the retreat is perfect and furnished brilliantly. The view is stunning and sitting there gazing at it with a cup of coffee or wine was very pleasing! The spa bath was the finishing touch. Sarah has thought over everything and we will be back. Just perfect in every way.

Me and my partner went to the barn owl retreat. The views were amazing and the location was quaint and calm, with a hot tub you can enjoy the views in. The rooms were clean and modern but with a cosy touch. Would return and would recommend xx

Me and my partner had a lovely stay at The Kestrel Lodge at Bettws Court Retreats. The views are absolutely amazing and so tranquil, views looking out onto rolling fields. The accommodation was so clean and had everything you would need for a lovely week away in the countryside. We will definitely be coming back again :). I highly recommend Bettws Court Retreats for a lovely break away.

We had a lovely time in the Barn Owl Retreat. The location and views are amazing. On arrival, we walked in to a beautifully clean and warm environment. The retreat has everything you would expect, along with a great welcome hamper. Even our dog was well catered for, bowls, treats, towels, blankets etc. We will definitely return next year. 100% recommended if you’re looking to relax.

My husband and I booked for our minimoon so that we could relax for a few days. Upon arrival we were amazed by how stunning the area is and how beautifully styled the cabin was. It was so well equipped with everything we could possibly need and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into ensuring you have the best stay. The book of walks was really helpful and allowed us to explore some wonderful areas nearby with our dog. Everything was spotless and there was nothing we were without. The enclosed dog paddock was a fab surprise too! We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed in Kestrel Retreat for a week, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The lodge is beautiful and the hosts have thought of everything you could need for your stay. The lodge was immaculately clean and lots of thought has gone in to its design. For any stargazers, the night sky is stunning with little light pollution and we got some gorgeous photos. Highly recommended.

We have just got back from a four night stay for our honeymoon. As soon as we arrived it was 5* for the views alone and it just got better. Very peaceful location with uninterrupted views, we didn't want to leave most days. Excellent accomodation and very comfortable sofas and bed, extremely cosy feel and the sound system was brilliant for listening to music throughout the day. Our dog loved sunbathing on the decking and the dog exercise area was perfect for toilet breaks. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful week we just had at Peregrine Retreat. The cabins are in a great location with stunning views. We loved all the high end facilities like the egg bbq and the Sonos system it made it feel like a home from home. Can’t recommend this place enough! The pup loved it too and spent endless hours watching the cows.

View is spectacular, the Retreat is top notch, and the Owners are friendly and responsive. Fully recommended.

Incredible stay! Thank you Sarah, for having us. Stress-free check in and out, incredible views and immaculately clean. All appliances (including Sonos speakers in every room) are all top of the range. Extremely comfy king sized bed in Kestrel Retreat. We loved stargazing from the outdoor double bath. The local free hamper was a lovely touch - it's great to see locally made edible goodies available

My partner and I had an amazing stay at the Barn Owl Lodge and Bettws court retreats. We were met with a little welcome hamper and some of the most amazing views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge, great amenities, comfy bed and lovely shower. It was made all the better for the cows that are grazing directly outside the lodge! My partner and I spent a good afternoon looking at the views, watching the cows and using the provided binoculars to spot wildlife. Sarah and the team have done a fantastic job of making you feel welcome and it was such a relaxing stay. If you decide to go, a visit to Under the Nut Tree is a must and recommended on the Bettws things to do page as well as tucking into some lovely food from the Pengethley Farm Shop.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Bettws Court Retreats, especially at the Kestrel Retreat. The first thing you notice when you walk inside is the breathtaking views—you truly get lost in the beauty of nature. The cabin itself is stocked with everything you need, including ample utilities, games, and binoculars to keep you busy. There are cute little instruction notes throughout, making everything self-explanatory. One of the highlights is the hot tub and BBQ. Wow, we certainly had a great time chilling under the stars. The host is so lovely and even provided a hamper with some local goodies. I really had a wonderful time and hope to be back in the future. Thanks again! x

We stayed here for a weekend in July for some much needed R&R, the booking process was super easy and Sarah was quick to answer any questions and provided a fantastic email and online pack with everything we needed to know. We stayed in Barn Owl and when we arrived on the Friday the first thing you notice when you walk in is the huge window with beautiful views across the valley, it's stunning! The Lodge itself is beautifully designed and catered for everything you need, all the small details are thought of, from matches for the bbq, coffee pods and milk, to the super soft bath robes, slippers and soaking salts for the sunken hot tub spa, there was nothing missing. Simply put it was faultless! If you are thinking of booking , stop thinking and book! you won't regret it, and we look forward to another stay here again in the future.

Fantastic views and very comfortable rooms

Absolutely gorgeous cabin in such a lovely area with plenty to do within a close proximity. The place was spotless top to bottom and my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Sarah.

We had the most perfect couple of days in the Kestrel Lodge. The location really is gorgeous and the lodge was stunning. Sarah had thought of everything to make the stay relaxing and stress-free. Everything in the lodge was such high quality and there really was nothing more we could have asked for. Would definitely stay here again :)

A beautiful cabin in a breathtaking and picturesque part of the world. I knew the views would be nice but I wasn’t prepared for how breathtaking it was, we didn’t want to leave! The cabin is well equipped with modern amenities and was absolutely spotless, would recommend Bettws Court retreats to anyone looking for a peaceful escape.

I could not recommend Bettws Court Retreat more. We stayed in the Kestrel Retreat and everything was perfect from start to finish. The property was elegant and modern as well as being completely spotless. The view from the huge windows was the best I've had from anywhere I've ever stayed in the UK. The location also lends itself very well to start gazing, given how little light pollution there is! The property information and facilities were superb, I couldn't have asked for any more! I'm sure we will be back again!
