Sumatra 2025
Sumatra what a place. Outstanding waves, tropical atmosphere, fantastic accomodation & food, and as usual the coaching /feedback is second to none. Loved this trip, everything catered for and logistically a tricky place to get to made easy. The best waves I've surfed and already can't wait to go back.

Bodyboard Holidays is a company I’ve been looking to use for a number of years and bit the bullet for their Southern Sumatra 2025 trip! They did not disappoint, logistically unrivalled taking you to the furthest corners of the planet for some of the sickest waves. Met some brilliant humans along the way - people and waves I will never forget. Thanks Rob and co for making dreams come true!

Bintangs and Barrels
Just did the epic South Sumatra trip with Rob, Grant, Matt and Alex. This was my 2nd time back there. Such an epic location with great waves and a fun crew. The accom is awesome and in a good location, and the team work really hard to make sure everyone is at the best spot to get the best waves without a crowd - be prepared for some early starts! It really is the Bintangs and Barrels tour. I'll be back on another BBHols trip soon!

What a time to be alive
This was my second time in Sumatra and just as perfect as the first time around. Boss-man Rob and the boys have absolutely everything worked out. From waves, taxis and accommodation to riding tips, breaky spots and where to find the coldest bintangs. 10/10, it’s simply just that good.

Epic waves in Sumatran paradise
I was recently part of a bodyboard holidays trip to Sumatra. My first time to indo and first time abroad with the bb holidays team which was made all the more easier by Rob and his fantastic team who have everything expertly coverd for the stay. The trip is extremly well organised from transfers, accomadation, food, guides and photography, no stone is left unturned. Robs years of experience as well as his teams are clear to see and as someone who ocassionaly finds it hard to be in a larger group context i felt that you could be open on any issue while away if it should arrise which puts you at great ease.Its been the perfect way to start a more extended trip to the area and although not knowing many people on the trip i have made some good conections and friendships not just within the group but within the local community. I would have no hesitation to book a trip in the future with bb holidays knowing the quality of service and world class coaching they provide. Your are gauranteed to improve your style and riding abilitys and gauranteed to have a great time so its no brainer to get involved.

Awesome trip and instruction
Attended the Costa Rica trip in 2025 and had an amazing time. Spent a lot of my youth bodyboarding and have come back to the sport in the last few years. I learned a ton. Rob and João were great instructors. I ride both prone and drop knee and received great instruction for both disciplines. The daily video review was invaluable. I have never seen myself in the water, so being able to watch video and go through ways to improve was great. Rob and João also do a great job helping folks across all skill levels both in the water and during the video review sessions. I also appreciated the itinerary - the general agenda for each day was an early morning session, breakfast, then film review. Folks would go their own ways or hang out in the afternoon, and then most of the group would come back together for a brief sunset session and happy hour. Lots of time in the water but also time to relax. I will absolutely be attending another trip in the future and I am looking forward to it.

Always the best trip of the year.
BB Holidays never disappoints! The attention to detail, the care and work the team invests in these trips make it an absolute joy to attend. I injured my shoulder, so a bit down but the people I met with BB Holiday picked me up and helped me have an awesome time in El Salvador. Big love and shout outs to Rob, Alex, Jao, all phenomenal coaches. May I be struck be lightning if I ever turn my back on a wave again. LOL

Have fun in El Salvador
Bodyboard Holidays put on a really good show for their recent trip to El Salvador.Sun and sea with good waves always seems to be guaranteed but also is the coaching from Rob and Joao.You always come away so much better with new boading skills and not forgetting all the new friends you meet.Simply just go on a trip and enjoy yourself.

Simply the best!
Just returned from another awesome winter getaway with BB Holidays, this time in El Salvador after my first BB adventure in Costa Rica last year.Again I have the utmost admiration for Rob Barber, only a few can say they have devoted their life completely to a sport and also made a living from it and Rob is one of them. his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to coach others in bodyboarding is unrivalled and so apparent at all times with the in-water coaching and video analysis. This is backed up by the one and only João, Portugese bodyboard legend and all round good guy, not only another excellent coach but a really positive and friendly guy to be around.It was also nice to meet Alex finally who pulls everything together behind the scenes and not surprisingly rips in the water.Like always the trip had a mixture of ages from 20’s to late 70’s and abilities from beginner to elite, the knack BB hols have is that they have built a system over many years to make each guest feel like the trip is focused on them, no matter their age or ability.Also great to have Bodyboarding royalty Rusty Morrison, Aussie dropknee legend and Jay & Vicki Reale on the trio who are such cool people and always happy to take time to offer advice to others.As a country El Salvador is great, not as polished or developed as some other countries nearby but this leads to an authentic slice of Central America and everything’s so low cost.All in a very enjoyable trip and one which I will do again some day but right now I am busy choosing my next Bodyboard Holiday destination to tick off the list

Just Book It!!
I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my trip to El Salvador with Bodyboard Holidays. I traveled from the New England area and getting to the destination was seamless. Rob and his crew have every detail and question you have figured out before you even ask. It's clear that they have put years and years of work into making these trips so memorable. I could try to explain every minute of my experience but it wouldn't do it justice. If you're thinking about going, whether you're a pro or a beginner, do yourself a favor and just book it!

These clinics are the bomb!
With apologies to Shakespeare: "How do I love Bodyboarding Holidays? Let me count the ways." If you want to be as good as you can at bodyboarding, as fast as possible, then do one of these bodyboarding clinics. You go out every morning to surf, like you would any other time, having tons of fun and no pressure, but the entire session is recorded on video, and the pros are out in the water with you not only surfing with you, but with a GoPro camera to capture some of the action. After breakfast, there's a frame-by-frame analysis of the session, pointing out mistakes/deficiencies in technique and what to do to fix it. Seeing your bodyboarding every day for a week, what you're doing, and how it compares with the correct technique is invaluable and makes for rapid improvement. Then we go out in the afternoon for a free-surf session and put it into practice. The whole experience completely transformed my bodyboarding, almost in the blilnk of an eye. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Something for ANY bodyboarder wanting a guided trip to paradise!
My wife and I are former professional bodyboarders and love traveling with Rob Barber and the groups that join Bodyboard Holidays. Everyone is encouraging no matter the ability level and the team at BBHol makes sure riders are safe, stoked, and enjoying waves that not only suit their ability level, but help them to push a bit out of their comfort zone, but only if they want that little nudge. Plus, the capture it all and share with the group for coaching tips. If you want to go on an epic guided bodyboard trip, you can't get any better. We've been to Costa Rica 3 times and El Salvador 6 times and have already booked for 2026!
