We never wound up sailing with them - this is a heads up! FYI WE DID NOT SAIL with this company bc they canceled it when we would not bypass the platform we booked it with. Beware if this company contacts you directly asking you to bypass the reservation platform you booked with to book directly with them to "save money" because of "recently raised fees". If you refuse they may cancel your booking completely! This happened to us, therefore we had to scramble to book something else. After they asked us to cancel w airbnb where we had booked it and rebook directly with them I said we'd think about it. We had a very busy week and I was not able to get back to him immediately. I then did a little research and I saw a few reviews (including on TA) from people saying they were having a hard time getting their refund so I was uneasy being dishonest and bypassing the platform and then having to chase after our refund if the trip were canceled for any reason (ie weather). I also saw a review from a year ago of someone saying the same thing happened to them - that they were contacted and asked to cancel and rebook without the 3rd party platform "because of recently raised fees" - so this was not a new tactic. I did not cancel our reservation via airbnb. We felt we should keep it as we had already paid in full. 36 hours later I got a message that our trip was canceled by them. Unreal. If they do not want to lose money on 3rd party commission fees then they should not work with any 3rd party booking agencies like Trip Advisor (where there are 3 negative reviews about this) or Airbnb. We are more comfortable using recognized platforms where we know we can obtain a refund when appropriate. The integrity of this company is questionable in our opinion. I am sure people have had nice excursions with them - we weren't given the chance as we wanted to keep our booking via airbnb. I have a full text exchange showing that they asked us to cancel with airbnb and rebook with them to bypass the fees. When I did not do this they canceled our reservation. Period. Nothing here is fabricated despite the angry response from the owner on Trustpilot. I already stated that we did not sail with them. I have nothing against people trying to save money, or have better profits for their business but to force someone to cancel and rebook "or else" is unacceptable. So this is just a heads up to my fellow TA travelers.

NEVER provided promised refund. Such a disappointing and frustrating end in dealing with this company. They were very responsive when planning the trip. Our trip was cancelled due to weather by the company which was great as they really seemed to care about safety. However, despite being in the contract and promised by the contact at the company, I have NEVER received a refund for the cancelled trip. At first there was communication back and forth on the refund but now they will no longer communicate with me and I'm out $1000!!! I was waiting on writing this review until the issue was resolved but seeing as they will not respond to my emails, calls or texts, I am posting now so others can make an informed choice. I'm sure they provide lovely tours when able BUT I cannot recommend a company that does not honour their contract and that has ripped me off of a significant amount of money.

Superb speed boat tour(s) Based on the experience we had last year, we chose to go again with Bonaca during our Holiday in July 22! We have visited several old towns, away from the crowds of mainland, we have enjoyed the hidden bays of Adriatic, we have revisited historical and military places, all in all we had a mix of nature and history which we enjoyed to the maximum! The boat is spatious and really comfortable even at high speeds, a really important quality especially when travelling several days in a row like we did! The sun deck in the back is perfect for relaxing during travel or between swim breaks. The boat is also equipped with surround sound system, ice box, toilet and shower. The crew is super fun, polite, experienced... in one word: outstanding! A huge thank you to all three of them for giving us an amazing experience! I can't wait for next year! 😁

The dream tour that turned into a nightmare. We were scheduled to go on a tour with this company that never happened. The communication was horrible as I had to reach out to the owner ~Duje Mihovilovic 24 hours before the tour because I never heard back from him with location information as promised during booking. Once I finally reached him he then told me we couldn’t go out because of the weather. Even though the communication was subpar I disappointedly accepted that we wouldn’t be going out and accepted that he would refund me. The red flag should have been when he said he wouldn’t be able to pay me until 5 days later. Well 5 days went by and another 5 days went by and no money. When I reached out to him for payment the tug a war began. It took another additional 5 days for him to get my money back to me so a total of 3 business weeks. It got to the point that I had to literally ask daily where my money was and every time I asked him there was another excuse of why he hadn’t paid me and even used the excuse that he just had a baby and that he works hard from 5 am to 8 pm and that was another excuse of not sending me my money. He played the victim told quite a bit in out conversations. When I did finally receive my money it wasn’t the full amount that I paid for. Because the back and forth communication was so exhausting I just let the $12 owed go. This guy is ridiculous and I would tread lightly in using this company. It sounds like he has a lot going on personally that allows him to make shady business practices.

RUDE. UNPROFESSIONAL. UNRELIABLE. Terrible communication and experience. We booked the 5 Island tour on Tripadvisor and I got a message from the company on WhatsApp asking me to cancel and rebook directly so that they could save the fee. That should’ve been a red flag, but I agreed. This was 5 months in advance of the actual trip due to us planning to go on a Saturday in high season.The night before we are supposed to meet at the dock at 7:30am, I decide to confirm the meeting location. I wrote to them on WhatsApp at 11pm and got an immediate response… telling me that the trip was canceled! I was horrified, because at this point all other trips to Hvar through other companies were fully booked and it was our last day in Split. The rationale provided was that there was high wind, but that was obviously a pretext. There was no wind the next day! My guess is not enough people signed up so it wasn’t worth their while… he admitted that he “lost a lot of money.” He also pointed out that fuel prices had gone up, as if that was my problem…I wanted to cancel but that would mean having no boat trip at all. He said I could join their other tour which just goes to closer islands. I begrudgingly agreed. They said they would refund the price difference between the two tours, but that would have to wait until their accountant came in on Monday.Then comes the trip itself. There were 15 people crammed onto the boat with seating for 12, further bolstering my theory that they added us to their other tour to consolidate and save money. But whatever the reason why we ended up on this tour, even if the wind excuse was true (which it wasn’t), the truly unforgivable part was the HORRIBLE, RUDE “customer service” onboard. The skipper and captain looked angry and gruff the entire 10 hours of the tour. No introductions, no explanations, just “first stop, 2 hours, enjoy”, “now you swim for 45 minutes”, etc. They clearly had no interest in being there. They didn’t offer snorkel equipment and seemed annoyed when I asked. They were mostly silent except when they joked between themselves in Croatian. I asked if there were fish at the location we had stopped for snorkeling, and one said “how do I know? Fish move around.”We tried to enjoy our day, and we were grateful to be on the water, but the rudeness of the tour operators made it difficult to truly relax. It’s a pity because the boat is nice and the islands are beautiful.CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY. These guys are unreliable, shifty and rude. Oh, and the boat doesn’t have showers or a toilet as promised. But that was the least of the problems.

Super fun all day boat party Matej and Ivan were awesome! Very friendly, accommodating, and great DJs! They made our group experience really fun and memorable. The blue caves were incredible and the boat ride was smooth the whole time. Plenty of swim and relaxation time at each stop. Highly recommended!!

Great trip around the islands The tour was excellent! Matej and Ivan were great guides. We went to the blue cave, the blue lagoon, explored an underwater ship wreck and saw some of the islands. Our guides offered us a number of options on what to do and were very flexible with regards to the programme. The boat (including a toilet, a sun deck and beer!) was far more comfortable and spacious than the other tours we saw. I highly recommend this tour, we had a great time :)

Unforgettable - if you’re looking for a sign to book, here it is! Where to begin! Like the title says, here is your sign to book an experience that will truly be unforgettable - as this experience marks off a few very important boxes: ✅ - easy booking ✅ - quick responses ✅ - knowledgeable & fun loving crew✅ - incredible sights/ stops ✅ - you’re on a pretty sweet boat in the Adriatic all day (what more could you ask for)Unfortunately with how the weather played out, the crew has to switch up our tour a bit to keep us safe meaning we were unable to visit the blue caves. Some things are just out of everyone’s control…HOWEVER, we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything! We saw incredible towns, swam in crystal clear waters and danced the day away. Pro tip: Go during the off season or right at the end of the season. The stops aren’t crowed and you feel as if the sea is yours alone to swim in… and if you’re like us, a little extra attention and chats are well enjoyed.Reason you shouldn’t book: none or you’re not a fun seeking person who wants to have a bad time.

Private Boat Split to Hvar If there was an option for 6 stars I would give it for this experience. As we depart from Croatia and discuss what we loved the best it was this day at sea! The owner/skipper Duje and his first mate Ivan went above and beyond to make it the BEST. From the very beginning of the booking process till the actual dayDuje was very accommodating and his communication top notch. We did other private speed boats in Croatia but by far this was the most personalised and fun! My only suggestion to others is listen to what Duje suggests as far as what to see. He is a long time sailor and truly only has your best interests at heart which is not always true with tours.Not only did weHave an AMAZING time we have made friends for life!

Great experience with Ivan and Matej Our skippers, Ivan and Matej were super friendly and professional. I appreciated their flexibility in adapting our itinerary when we ran a bit late. Never felt rushed, good times all around.

Unforgettable experience! Spacious boat with a fun crew!! They made my Croatia experience absolutely unforgettable. Secret caves, boat jumps, ocean swims, and spontaneous dance parties - what more can you ask for!

Balade en bateau au top !! Journée au top on a pu voir plusieurs endroits magnifiques . Duje a su être accueillant . On a pu se baigner et sauter avec masque et tuba dans des eaux turquoises . Très bonne ambiance au sein du bateau avec musique Foncez !!

Amazing Crew We spent the full day on island hopping and it was an amazing experience with the crew. They are fantastic and professional, offered us great suggestions and full flexibility. Would highly recommend to everyone!

Must do Beyond expectation - I thought it would be good but the tour was sensational and the skippers were fantastic. We spent the day between islands, swimming in the clear water, saw the blue cave and the top it off the guys found dolphins on the way back which played in our wake. Would recommend to everyone. A group of us have all agreed that this day was the highlight of our trip - 100

Stop searching and book this tour This is my second trip with Bonaca, Duje and Ivan were fantastic and you spend the whole day (10 hours) with them. The only schedule is to get to the blue cave first thing so you can avoid the queues after that it is flexible. We went to the blue cave, then to a hidden beach off the island of Vis, spent some time in the blue lagoon, followed by a beautiful meal in Hvar at one of the local restaurants. Water, sodas, beers, and wine were provided. There was loads of room on the boat with the option of lying out on the day bed on the back of the boat. I have done other boat tours in Split and I have to say that Bonaca goes over and beyond for their guests to ensure to make the day a personalized experience for everyone. Duje and Ivan have a wealth of knowledge about the area and will give you the history of the islands as well as give you recommendations of restaurants in the area (which were all fantastic).I would honestly say stop looking because you found the right boat tour and these guys will ensure you have a fantastic day.

Private Day Trip - Unforgettable (For Real) We booked a private full day tour. Given the experience and length of the time we spent (10 hours) this is a very affordable option for a far better, more intimate and authentic experience than the other tours you'll see as you peruse options. What differentiated this from the rest? --Private - during Covid this helped my friend and I feel safer. It was also nice to chat with Duje in the days leading up to the tour to create an itinerary that matched what we desired to see. --Duje delivers Four Season level service and communications. He responds to messages quickly, and has a joie de vivre that's contagious. I did a boat tour with one of the other operations in Split (one that had hundreds of great reviews) and they were not nearly as professional and fun to be around. --Duje's skipper / 2nd in command has a degree in History, so he was able to give us detailed historical information about the sites we visited. I feel like I learned a lot. His enthusiastic descriptions and stories were really interesting. --His boats are new and clean and more fuel efficient so you end up spending less on fuel out of pocket. --He listens and aims to please. If you tell him you're not interested in the usual tourist spots and want to have an authentic / off the beaten path experience - he will create an itinerary for you that matches that. I can't stress enough how high-end his service skills are. This isn't one of those big fake pirate ships you see in the marina...it's a boutique, luxury, private experience.--The places he took us in Brac and Solta were divine. --Duje even helped us find restaurants during our stay...and connected us with other boat tour operators in Dubrovnik for our time down there. Everywhere he sent us we were treated like VIPs because Duje has a great reputation in the local community. It doesn't surprise me, given his kind hearted and fun personality. Bringing joy to people through his company seems to deeply fulfill him. I did other tours throughout my two weeks in Croatia, and this was #1. As someone said above in their title: "this really is the tour you need to choose, search over." I couldn't agree more and will be sending my friends and family to Bonaca Experience and Duje when they visit Split.

Book your tour now! Book now! Matej and Ivan was our crew and they were absolutely wonderful. Honestly they were the best tour guides I’ve ever had throughout my travels. They made my group feel completely comfortable, and took us to the funnest destinations during our custom tour. Their restaurant choices were also delicious. My only regret is not booking multiple tours as I had so much fun during mine. Money well-spent. Most definitely the highlight of my trip to beautiful Croatia.

Private Day trip Fantastic time with Matej and Ivan. Great hosts. We did a day tour around the island of Vis. Had time to jump In and swim. Had lunch at a Great restaurant. Waters, sodas, beers and wine were provided. I would highly recommend if you are in split or hvar! Thanks guys!
