We can say a lot of good things. Best Lunch we had in SriLanka, beautiful camp and great safari. But what makes this place special is the staff. You’ll feel at home the first second. Such a positive energy, dedication and enthusiasm for each animal will make your stay and especially the safari a must-experience. Thanks Chathu 💚

An amazing way to explore Yala National Park with glamping experience! The camp is a luxurious camping experience with the most attentive team looking after you- Ossie, Chathu and Nicky especially. The food is delicious and the dining experience is amazing. We did three safaris with Chathu who is an amazing knowledgeable guide. We had great fun! Would highly recommend Camp Leopard if you’re exploring Yala National Park!

Mixed Experience at Sri Lanka Safari Campsite and Tour
After five months of travel, my family’s recent experience at a Safari campsite in Sri Lanka stood out, unfortunately, for the wrong reasons, especially regarding the meals provided. Having spent long, fulfilling days exploring, one of the things we most looked forward to was returning to a good meal and a comfortable place to rest.
The staff were genuinely friendly, nice and professional as well as their extensive knowledge of the wildlife enriched our safari tour. The transport provided was comfortable and well-organized, making our journeys pleasant.
However, our anticipation for enjoyable meals after these long days was consistently met with disappointment. Every meal, from overcooked chicken drumsticks to plain spaghetti for the kids, was not only poorly prepared but also served cold. This was surprising and disheartening, particularly given the high expectations set by previous reviews. In the recent reviews, the campsite supplied a beautiful dinner table of traditional curries. That was the complete opposite of what we received. The presence of amiable dogs at the campsite was sweet, but their frequent use of our tent as a resting spot left an unwelcome scent of wet dog.
While the safari experience itself was a highlight, the subpar culinary offerings and less-than-ideal tent conditions were significant drawbacks. This was especially felt after long days of exploration, where a satisfying meal and a comfortable resting place are incredibly valued. For future visitors, while the staff’s hospitality and the wildlife experience are commendable, it’s wise to manage expectations regarding meals and accommodations.

I have mixed feelings about this business. The staff that take you on the safari tour are incredible. They’re knowledgeable, kind, fun and professional. They go over and beyond to help make your safari experience the best it can be.
Ozzie was very kind and patient with our 1 and 3 yr old. The safari tour itself was amazing! Our little ones loved it and got really involved with looking for the animals.
Unfortunately though, the major let down for our family of 4 was the food. Our entire dinner was served cold and unlike prior reviews, we weren’t served a spread of curries. We were served dry cold chicken, cold unpleasant kottu roti and a very soggy salad. Oh, and we were served crisps as an entree! Breakfast wasn’t much better.
Aside from the terrible food, our tent had a very unpleasant smell. I’m not sure if it was dog or dampness. The linen felt wet and it just wasn’t a comfortable sleep with the lingering odour.
For fellow readers looking for a safari camping experience, I would look elsewhere. The price tag for 1 night did not align with the terrible food and unpleasant odour of the tent. I truly hope that Camp Leopard can improve on these areas because it has a lot of potential to be a benchmark safari glamping experience.

Was für ein tolles Team! Man fühlt sich von Anfang an wie unter Freunden. Die Zelte haben alles, was man braucht einschließlich einer gut funktionierenden Klimaanlage. Man hat fachlich gut qualifizierte Mitarbeiter für alle Fragen zu Natur, Tieren, Pflanzen und Kultur. Das Essen war landestypisch, sehr lecker und wurde im Freien unter großen Bäumen, mit vielen Laternen in einmaliger Atmosphäre serviert. Anschließend wurde am Lagerfeuer noch etwas zusammen gesessen, ein unvergesslicher Abend.

One hell of a Safari. Fantastic
This was an exceptional tour in my life and one of a kind safari. We camped in the middle of Kumana National Park, near Kumbukkan Oya for 3 nights. The nearest civilization was more than 20km away. Mobile phones were dead. It was full of excitement, nature, beauty, fear and joy. We encounter wild creatures including few leopards. The camp leopard team was very dedicated to make the tour a success. Chathu was amazing. Her knowledge and enthusiasm was outstanding. The food was delicious. Team is doing a marvelous job. I would like to thank Marc for giving me this opportunity. No one should hesitate to book this safari. This was the best of the best. Worth every penny.

Unforgettable Jungle Experience
Our trip won’t be the same without her. Chathu!!! she is an amazing young lady, an environmental scientist, a wildlife expert, smart and extremely friendly. She engaged my children closely with her knowledge. This place, Camp Leopard is absolutely amazing. Set in an authentic jungle experience, build with love in a sustainability approach, easy access to Yala National Park and BOO BOO ..you are always in our heart. Meals provided were exactly what I wanted. Presented in a traditional Sri Lanka style, everyday is delicious. Marc never fails to feed what I want. The whole team are wonderful, they were naturally friendly and helpful. This trip is truly unforgettable, we found what we are looking for! Thank you Marc!

Our experience was simply amazing! Everything was already said in the previous comments but what we can also say that this that the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and enthusiastic! is a perfect guide and manager! She is very knowledgeable and fun to be on the safari together :) you feel that you are with a committed and motivated team. You immediately feel in the small, nice community in the camp. If you are looking for a full safari and camping experience, this is absolutely the place to be!!

Our safari experience at Camp Leopard was exceptional, thanks to the incredible engaged team. Chadthu, our multi-talented guide, team manager, and guest contact, was a standout. Her enthusiasm and knowledge were truly impressive. Also her commitment to conservation and sustainability was sth we appreciated a lot.
It was just the two of us so it felt like having our private Safari.
We booked one night with the afternoon and the morning Safari and went to Block 5&1, which was a good route for seeing different flora and landscapes and having many encounters with different animals. As a highlight we even saw a leopard!
The Glamping facilities and the served food were also great and fit the whole stay, everything was very well done and we felt comfortable and cared for always. All in all this safari was outstanding.

Great stay, we had the camp to ourselves. Glamping as you'd expect. Lovely tent with proper decor that gives you that "safari chique" feeling. Finally some good beds and good airconditioning in one of these! Chathuni was a great guide, lively and doing everything to give you the best experience and spotting the coolest animals 🐆 Highly recommended, thanks for having us!

A Must In Sri Lanka!
My partner and I did a two day one night stay at Camp Leopard. In that time we did a dusk and dawn Safari, and the experience was INCREDIBLE! Everything from the accomodation, the staff, the food, the safari to the camp’s dogs was amazing! We arrived outside of the camp grounds and were greeted by Chathu, our safari guide and wildlife expert. Chathu is a positive person with a great sense of humour. She made us feel very welcome before the three of us hopped in the back of the truck to be taken to Camp Leopard. When we arrived, we were greeted by the rest of the Camp Leopard team, Tharaka, Milhara, Laiiya, and Handa. Along with the camp’s friendly canines. The accomodation is very nice, but be mindful you don’t leave any food in your bags. Unless you want thieves in the form of squirrels helping themselves to your items. Apparently they’re a fan of coffee sachets, as my partner found out 😂. However, we were warned. The safari itself is one of our best experiences from our time in Sri Lanka. But please note, it is luck on the day as to what animals you’ll see. You’re dealing with wildlife and it’s always a roll of the dice where that’s concerned. With that said, during our two safaris, we were blessed to see the big 5 (leopard, wild bore, water buffalo, sloth bear and elephants). The food that the camp provides is delicious. We were treated to a traditional Sri Lankan lunch and dinner during our stay, both times we were given more food than we could consume. After the dinner we had s’mores over a camp fire and good conversations with fellow guests at the camp. The experience with camp leopard is one we can’t recommend enough. And we consider it a must if you’re visiting Yala National Park.

From the first moment we felt very welcome from every member of the team. The camp is beautiful, the food incredible tasty. We were very fortunated to be guided by Marc, very knowledgeable, experienced and great personality. The communication between him and the driver, Liar, was flawless.
We have seen, all the birds in the area, and learnd their behaviour. We had a dip in the river and even a nap blending in with the monkeys. Last part of the trip, Chatu, the most caring, smart and vibrant girl, I ever met, guided us. That was the perfect closure of the amazing experience, we had so much fun, spoted so many wonderful creatures and met beautiful people.

We had an absolutely amazing time with the Camp Leopard team. Honestly can not say one bad word about this experience. Safari, food, team, glamping - every little detail was perfect. If you still hesitating whether to pick this safari - just do it, worth every cent. They are sustainable safari that really cares about animals' well-being and general park cleanness. All love goes to all team members (2-legged & 4-legged) but special thanks to Chathuni who made our experience magical ❤️

It is totally worth every dollar spent. The staff is extremely friendly, intelligent, and respective to the environment. We had picked two safari package and would choose the same option once more. The time in the safari flies and it is possible to see amazing animals there. We have encountered two leopards, a herd of elephants, numerous single elephants, buffallos, crocks, birds and much more. As an advice, I would be patient to wait for the reply from the team over whatsapp because they really pay great attention to the guests and are short of time to reply to all the messages that they get online.
