Beautiful lake. Place is quiet, peaceful and perfect for retreats. The food quality, however, has declined. The food was a lot better last year. I hope & pray it goes back to it's awesome food choices.

One of my favorite retreat centers. I first learned about it when I worked at the at the University of Central Florida's wellness center. We held our team building training retreats there.
More recently, I enjoyed business networking meetings there. The staff were always attentive and welcoming.
Conference rooms and lodging surrounded by beautiful scenery. Last I checked the prices were relatively low.
It's about 20 minutes from Orlando International Airport and off a main highway surrounded by a variety of nice restaurants. Yet when on grounds, it feels like we are in the middle of nowhere.
Convenient yet secluded. Downtown Orlando is only about 30 minutes away.
Great food options prepared and served on site. Or smaller groups may opt for the excellent restaurant choices off campus.
Great for any focused getaway, not only spiritual retreats. Whether continuing education, business networking, or team training a convenient secluded getaway within an hour of popular Florida attractions is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

I absolutely love this retreat. My first encounter was in 1998 with AmeriCorp Group. The idea of not having access to my electronics was a shock-n-awe moment. Oddly enough I got over it without recognizing it. The peace, nature trails and the food 💯🎯

Incredibly rude people answering the phones. After speaking with someone briefly, I quickly decided to never step foot on this property.

My team was looking for a place to host two large groups of college students to train them in urban ministry. When we discovered Canterbury, we knew we had found a gem.
Its location is pretty special. For being only a half hour from downtown Orlando, the nature surrounding the retreat center makes it feel like you’ve driven for hours outside of an urban area. And the small lake around Canterbury is a great backdrop, as well.
The staff, in particular, make this place extra special. I’ll point out Irene, Teri, Seth, and Michael — all of whom were so kind and easy to work with. They flexed far beyond the limits of their job descriptions to make our stay perfect. Because of them, Canterbury feels more like a bed and breakfast than a retreat and conference center.
Even Arnold, who heads up the sales side of things, was super accommodating — particularly when it came to rates and adjusting to unforeseen changes. Overall, I’d strongly recommend Canterbury to anyone looking for a spiritual retreat or a place to host approximately 100 people or less.

Canterbury is an amazing retreat and conference center. It has acres of beautiful walking trails, a serene lake, and has fabulous accommodations and meeting rooms, all in very close proximity of Orlando. It is a true oasis. Jim Morical the director operations is a delight to relate to and ensures the best retreat and conference experience one could possibly ask for. The food and hospitality overseen by the Teri Garcia is fabulous and absolutely first class, and Chalmers Morse the executive director is a true visionary in developing a retreat/conference center that is known internationally and in my experience of ministry in Canada and the U.S. is second to none. I highly recommend Canterbury to any religious or non-religious group that is looking for the perfect place to hold their retreat or conference.

My wife and I spent a week Canterbury Retreat & Conference Center in December 2017. We enjoyed morning coffee in the common area, daily walks around the lake (including reflecting upon the Stations of the Cross), lunch on the patio, and generally exploring the rest of the grounds with our kids and grandkids -- including ropes course and climbing wall. Very peaceful. Highly recommended.

Kitchen staff was unprepared for our group and staff was often unpleasant. Facilities need to be updated and the culture wasn’t that of a retreat center, was more a hotel establishment. Not sure what the vision of the Christian Retreat center is...

Went there for the first time last weekend and I was impressed by this place. The area is very peaceful and well kept. Terri and her team really did a great job with all the food and were very nice.
The rooms are simple but clean.

Very peaceful and spiritual place. Open for anyone who wants to enjoy nature and spend some time with Jesus. They call it "sacred space", they have comfortable inside seating, outside seating on their decks, and trail around a lake and chapels to read or pray privately or reserve for a meeting or conference. The path also has workout stations and spiritual plaques, which I think follow the pattern of the stages of the cross. I go there to read, pray and get away from distractions. For casual visits everything is free.
