Salvos Stores Rockdale Reviews

Was questioned by a female employee when I was taking photos. I said it was for google maps and she responded with that's I.Ts job. Continued to question me untill she realised it was for a review. Prices are okay but best when it's the colour of the week. 2 dollar tag does not have its own section so you need to sort through the racks

Great place to unwind while shopping and find little treasures. They play great music most of the days and the bathroom is always clean!

Naming and Shaming Women- Skinny, Black hair, "GOLD CROSS AROUND NECK ???". Both my Grandparents died in a horrible car accident in 2022. It was in the Newspaper and almost went to TV. A couple of months ago, I went to take a quick trip to this Salvos on my day off. We barely leave the house after this, and choose to live a very quiet life. On this particular day I had brought one small bag and one very big bag, (some of which carried possessions from my grandparents, not junk but possessions that hold special and meaningful memories to them) I put them in the donation bin. I will never forget as long as I live, but before I left I just thought that I would go use the rest room quickly because I just drove for 20 minutes, and needed to use the rest room. This women who everyone is probably referring to, asked if I was okay and told her that I was just looking for the light switch. No smile, she just says rudely "well you shouldn't be using the bathroom at all, as we are closing" then walked off. Website says closes at 5:30, and the time was quater to...?.. I was very rudely offended, not only did I just drive down all this way, or no matter where you came from, you come all this way with donations only to be treated and made to feel like you are an imposter !! At that point I wasn't going to drop off my donations, because in all due respect, if your not going to show any respect back, I would rather donate it to those who do. I could not believe, but when I walked out of the bathroom, this horrible women was already standing at the door with a sarcastic smile, looking at me up and down I was expecting her to say "have a nice day" or "thank you" but just treated me with such disgust, as if I was a burden to had been there or a criminal. So I asked her "are you okay?" And something about that must of really ticked her off, because as I was leaving she said to me (when I was already out of the the store I might add) "drop the attitude, because you are on surveillance !!??? I was honestly in shock, as one she made a threat herself, and two you can not make those kind of accusations unless someone is using inappropriate language or doing anything physical !! I almost laughed, as I was so shocked and appalled, and little did she know that she was speaking to someone who's background come from that line of work, but no matter who you are, no one should ever treat a customer in such disrespect or threats !! I told her that I would like to take my donations back, as I would rather give them to a charity or organisation that would be appreciative of it, who values and treats thier customers with respect. Never had I been treated with argumentally such disgusting and appalling behaviour in my life !!!! I was almost left humiliated and speechless !! I was disappointed with Salvos, because I did report the incident and a lady did get back to me, but if it wasn't for the Manager in charge who was really lovely and apologetic over the phone, I was going to take it to the local Newspaper...never have I been so humiliated in my life, and from a Salvo's store !! I was disappointed because I would've had atleast had expected a condolence card or even a bunch of flowers sent to me, but there was no follow up email in return. Never again have I or ever will go back to that Salvos store ever again. I do continue to shop at other Salvos stores because I have never had a rude encounter with any Op shop before in my ife, or any customer service for that matter, and should choose not to just not shop at any other salvos store, just due to one horrible and rude individual. I would've rather had given my donations to a homeless person on the street who would've had valued and appreciated the donations, but they were generiously donated elsewhere, who really acknowledged and appreciated the donations. I would feel embarrassed and mortified if this women was still working there, unless someone had put her into place. I am sorry, but someone like that does not deserve to be the face or voice of the Organisation. #Karma

I had an unpleasant experience at this shop due to the manager's rude and impolite behavior. On two occasions, she attempted to charge me more for items by claiming they were incorrectly marked, only to backtrack when I showed her the price tag. This made me feel like she was deliberately trying to overcharge me. Additionally, I was told that an item I intended to purchase for $7 was actually priced at $15 because of a supposed labeling error by the staff. Overall, the encounters left me with a negative impression of the store and its management.

The manager, probably the same lady everyone is talking about, is extremely rude. Everything they receive is donated to raise money for charity, but she treats customers with little respect and should not work in this field. Very upsetting..

greatest salvos ever, amazing selection of clothing and home wares. the staff are lovely and have been nothing but warm and welcoming to me every time, which has kept me coming back for years.

There is a very rude lady employed there who by the looks of these reviews is a repeat offender. Let me start off by saying my experience has been pleasant with the store, there are no dramas there, it is just the one lady that was working on Wednesday that was extremely dry and rude to my friend. My friend at the last minute changed her mind about a shirt she didn't want. Instead of taking the shirt, this lady ordered my friend to put the shirt back herself...lady that's literally YOUR job to do?! She was impatient, extremely dry and condescending in her conversation then has the audacity to say "smile it's free" after being rude and giving us poor service..... Um yeah sure👍 Just a note to that lady/management, you are working at the SALVATION ARMY not the pub. So you really need to have better customer service, especially to those who are vulnerable and need support. Do better.

Love salvos but this store is overpriced and disorganised

How this store has so many glowing reviews I’m not sure.. I tried to give this particular salvos a second chance after coming in many times but I won’t be coming back. Firstly ide like to mention that when I was in yesterday one staff member on the floor was berating the other lovely man behind the counter in a totally inappropriate way. The poor chap was clearly distressed and no one should be spoken too like that.. Secondly PRICES! While salvos are a not-for-profit and supposed to be affordable for the masses this is clearly no longer the case across many stores.. HOWEVER this store takes the cake Massively inflated prices for second hand that can be purchased at Kmart / IKEA/ Big-w for 1/4th the price Salvos you need to do better. I also suggest your higher up management comes and has a seriously good look at this store it’s staffing and pricing

A nice average sized Salvos, very nice knick knacks. Worth a look. Supports a good cause.

Great prices . Great staff. Great stuff. Forget vinnies, it's a rip off. Well done to the salvos for the wonderful community service they provide. Rockdale salvos is particularly wonderful. Keep up your great work and thank you.
