Being a lawyer with 44 years of experience, I was very discerning when choosing a lawyer to prepare a very complex estate plan for my wife and me that would protect three generations of our family. Stephen Carpenter checked all of the boxes. He is a very experienced specialist in estate planning and tax law who is thorough, responsive, patient, and is great at simplifying complex legal and tax issues. Of great importance to us is the fact that his firm has a plan of succession, meaning that if he were to die before we do, his firm has younger lawyers who can step forward to replace him so that competent legal advice is always available to advise us and our family. Stephen prepared a revocable trust, powers of attorney, pour over will, and health care directives. He is very knowledgeable about writing these to stand up to scrutiny later on and he is knowledgeable about tax implications for an individual or estate. Easy to work with. Reasonable pricing.
