This is a beautiful apartment in a lovely location run by wonderful people who are very helpful. There is a great restaurant in easy walking distance and everyone in the area is warm and welcoming. Roccaspinalveti is a charming little town and the whole area has spectacular views around every corner. It is a great place to unwind at a very reasonable cost.

Helene and John's place is so lovely. The view is breathtaking and we just could stop enjoying it. The place is clean and comfortable and you have everything you need. Highly recommend

This beautiful place and people draw you back and I would happily move into this apartment on a permanent basis. The surroundings are stunning and everywhere you go is welcoming and hospitable. I was surprised just how sunny November was and no coat was needed during the day, the apartment offered a cosy haven in the chillier nights and the excellent WiFi meant I could work when I needed to looking out on the picture perfect view.

This is quite frankly the loveliest place to stay. Helen and John are so welcoming and helpful hosts and the apartment is very well equipped and appointed. I could spend my whole summer here just enjoying the peace and tranquillity but at the same time discovering the area and the understated life of a small traditional town with just enough of what you need. I will be returning as soon as I can.

How can you begin to describe this wonderful stay experience? Nothing was lacking, and the extras are too plentiful to list. First impression was being flabbergasted with the space. We'd estimate between 750 and 1,000 feet of livable space, plus a long private terrace and porch-style sitting area. All private and with separate entrance. John's renovated bathroom and hand-refurbished furniture combined modern conveniences with antique touches. The super kitchen and sitting area decorating by Helene made us feel as if we were in a posh resort. And the tranquility! You'll be amazed at how bucolic and quiet it is here. They have a nice backyard with olive trees and places to explore. We seldom knew when our hosts (and their good-natured Lab Romeo) were home. Imagine being greeted every morning with an unobstructed view from your master bedroom terrace of the ancient ruins of a tower atop the Carunchio mountain (now adjoining a famous cooking school on Plazzo D'Eau). Unlike over-touristed parts of Italy, this is slow-paced, true community living, where everyone is friendly and will have great things to say about your hosts. And about Helene and John, they'll give you as much privacy as you want. But don't miss out on sharing a bottle of wine (or a chamomile tea) with them if you have a chance. They're a fountain of information about not only their immediate surroundings, but also suggestions for rounding out an insider's perspective of much of under-explored Italy. Especially valuable to hear it from American expats who have managed to fit in with their community adoringly. Highest ratings!
