Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation was there for us when our boy Sparky 15 1/2 years old passed away. Alan and the staffs make us feel at ease when making the hardest decisions. I had a great experience and highly recommend this place.
Thanks to Alan, Jim and staffs at Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation!

An experience that I would recommend to anyone despite not wishing it on anyone.. On a horrible Monday morning, we woke up to our 2 1/2 year old cat Obie passed on the living room floor. He wasn’t sick, we had no warning, just fine one minute and gone the next. We were in hysterics up until shock. Necropsy’s are extremely expensive, and so we knew we just needed to have his remains handled. Some people have pets just to have them, and others have animals that are truly part of the family and with this loss leaves a hole. We called our vet, we called crematoriums, it all felt so transactional and we felt that even after death, Obie deserved the best. We spoke with Allan over the phone and he was extremely compassionate and understanding, spoke to us with empathy and explained aquamation as we never heard about it before. We loved that Obie wouldn’t be burned, and that he would be handled with care and we felt we could trust Allan. We realized he was over an hour farther then the places we called and even despite the convenience of pick up/drop off provided by crematories (all with no facility in house as I now know) we knew that Obie deserved nothing less then Compassionate Care. After arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the entire staff. Allan was just as comforting in person and validated our racing emotions, Jim gave us a tour of the facility and walked us through the process step by step, also extremely validating, and Chrissy was kind to us who handles the remains afterward. I feel like this would have been a much worse experience with a harder emotional overcoming had we not gone to them. They were professional, kind, and HUMAN about our feline baby boy. Allan even stayed later since we ran into traffic to pick him up, and stood kind and empathetic the whole way. They all shared their experiences and we’re extremely grateful for their care, with Obie as well as with us. It’s a service that I will continue to recommend to my family and loved ones for years to come now that I’m educated on it, and I will specifically recommend Compassionate Care Per Aquamation due to the care provided by Allan and Jim. Thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts 💔❤️

Compassionate Care has truly helped my family. I tried to contact many other services after hours. Not only did they not answer but they didn’t even return my calls! Compassionate Care was there for us. They helped us through an incredibly difficult time exacerbated by difficult interpersonal relationships. They are wonderful people providing a fantastic service. Thank you Compassionate Care for all you do!
Thank you Randi for your wonderful review. It is deeply appreciated.

After dealing with my first pet death and the most immediate death that happened to me, I'm glad that they handled my boy bunny Gilgamesh. They picked him up the day he passed away and since he was in a blanket they even remembered to mark it down to give back. They were fully transparent of the timing and let me know via phone when he was available for pickup. I personally opted to go by public transit (subway and LIRR) so be aware they can only do pick ups from 10 AM - 4 PM from Monday to Friday otherwise shipping delivery is ~$60 and drop off is ~$70. The urn they gave was beautiful and the vet that picked him up who I met again at pickup when I went was so kind and sweet. Out of all the pet cremation options they were the most affordable and gave great service overall!

Our lovely Grace passed shockingly for us, she was 17, from the shelter and was living with us 12 years, and “grew” together with my daughter… The Service we got for cremation was excellent, the driver picked the body very fast, and as we were promised, we got Grace back in a week, in a wooden box with her name on it. I recommend the Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation who satisfied our hope and expectations

Very respectful when it comes to such a sensitive time. Was very understanding of my situation and even went so far as to offer some advise. Quality business and quality people.

It is terrible to lose a pet and difficult to know what to do and how. Our beautiful kitty passed away after a good life of 18 years. We were intrigued by the idea of aquamation, and Alan was so helpful in explaining the process. More importantly, he comforted us in our grief and arranged for Juan, who was very respectful to bring our sweetheart to their location. We received the small elegant box with her nameplate and remains today and seeing her on the mantel with mementos of all our loved ones brings us peace. Highly recommended.
Thanks so much Deena. Your kind words are deeply appreciated!

I was happy to learn of a more eco friendly solution for end of life services and that I chose Compassionate Care to handle my ESA pet’s aquamation. His disease blindsided me and I struggled quite a bit in the early days. So much support and help came through during this difficult time and CCA was one of them. Within 4 hours of his passing, the undertaker arrived and a little over two weeks later, I got my baby back. Thank you so much. I love you forever Cow and I miss you my sweet boy.

Very well done, and cared for our loss. Our family was able to get bracelets and necklaces with some of our dogs remains in them which is a great touch.

I’m always hesitant to leave a less than stellar review on a small business, but felt obligated to share our experience. We used a partnering business called Paws At Peace who came to our house to help say goodbye to my sweet 19-year old cat Jesse. Although tragic and sad, that experience was fine and the nurse was lovely and compassionate.
They cremate through Compassionate Care, where I elected for a pick up of Jesse’s remains as NYC delivery options are risky and unpredictable. I received a personalized text that Jesse’s ashes were ready to be picked up, and scheduled Friday morning. I took the day off and made the 60-minute drive to pick up the ashes, and when I arrived, they didn’t know who I was. They were looking in drawers, entering and exiting doors…it felt like bizarro world. Eventually, they somehow discovered that his ashes had been sent to Ivy Pets, a place I’ve never heard of, was never mentioned to me, and which was in Midwood a town about an hour away, plus another hour away from my home.
The folks at Compassionate Care were nice enough, although casual, as if I hadn’t just prepared myself to pick up my dead cat’s ashes on an hour drive to be told they were elsewhere. While waiting for them to explain what was going on, I asked to speak with the woman who texted me the pick-up instructions and was told she no longer worked there. On my way out a supervisor offered me a necklace that you can put ash in, which I appreciated the gesture.
An hour later when I made it to Ivy Pets, they did in fact have my cat’s ashes, although they misspelled his name on the engraving, which I physically typed during the registration so that could have/should have been verified. I’ve pulled the tab off as it was adhesive, so nothing irreversible, but it did feel a bit insulting after the ordeal as a whole.
The most important thing is that Jesse’s ashes are safe and home with us, but for $860 I expected more Compassion and Care.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Jim, Alan and I’m sorry I did not get the woman’s name, are all wonderful people. Very understanding, soft spoken, kind individuals, who have a true love for animals and caring for them through this process. This isn’t just your normal cremation place, they are much better and caring with your loved ones. I saw a video of Aquamation being done and it is very peaceful and less harmful to your pet. Overall, from the customer service to the process of Aquamation, Compassion is the best of the best!

I took my beloved Johnny of 17 years here to this wonderful place after he crossed over the rainbow bridge & they made his transition into the afterlife exactly how i imagined. Peaceful and painless . I was welcomed with open arms and kind eyes the second I entered the room. I knew this was the right place. Not only that but they are a eco friendly & sustainable facility and as an environmentalist I couldn’t be more pleased and impressed with the Aquamation process. It was some thing I was relatively unfamiliar with, but was eased with knowledge and thorough explanation when asked. Thank you so much to Alan and Jim for your empathy and condolences during this difficult time. You both have made the grief process for my family and so effortless and serene. I am eternally grateful

Compassionate Care was recommended through Paws at Peace and I couldn't have made a better choice myself. Thank you to Jim for letting me cry and share my story when picking up my sweet boy Bruno. It takes special people to deal with pet parents who have lost their most precious gifts. Thank you!
