Das Los Angeles County Arboretum ist eine echte Ruheoase, wenn man dem Trubel der Stadt mal entkommen will. Besonders die Pfauen, die dort überall frei herumlaufen, sind ein Highlight – auch wenn sie ganz schön laut werden können. Die Anlage ist riesig, man kann stundenlang durch die verschiedenen Bereiche wie den afrikanischen Garten oder den Urwald schlendern. Ein paar Ecken könnten zwar etwas Pflege vertragen, aber das historische Queen Anne Cottage reissst es absolut wieder raus. Schnappt euch am besten bequeme Schuhe, nehmt euch genug Wasser mit und geniesst einfach die entspannte Atmosphäre. Lohnt sich definitiv für einen entspannten Nachmittagsausflug.
Amazing garden; the flowers in bloom were spectacular. The rose garden & waterfall & water areas were just so beautiful. We didn’t have a lot of time, so we only saw one side of the garden.
The peacocks near the entrance were absolutely beautiful.
Ample, free parking. We went on a Sunday, before Memorial Day. It was crowded, but got a parking right away in the overflow lot & the park is so large, you don’t notice the crowd. They have a cafe & gift shop, but we didn’t have time.
Pro tip: There is A LOT of great asian food & groceries nearby. A Sam’s Club is about 15 min away bc the gas in CA is crazy expensive.
