Closing in on the first full year at Cordwainer.. Art, Music, and foreign language programs still out the best in mom, but its the staff that makes this place sing. Mom is just plain 'happy'.

I wish a rating of higher than 5 because that is what this community deserves. The decor, the engaging activities team, the expertise and compassion of the nursing team is unmatched.It is an absolute pleasure to visit there as well as provide programming. It is truly a special and unique place for the memory impaired population.

The Cordwainer is a remarkable place. Our Mom and Dad moved there from another community, and the care they receive at the Cordwainer is unmatched. Recently our Dad passed, and the entire team at the Cordwainer wrapped their arms around our Mom. Everyone involved in her care, to a person, showed a wonderful level of expertise and compassion. The approach at the Cordwainer to function as a seamless team to support the residents and their families makes daily life much easier for all of us. We know Mom will miss our Dad very much, but we are comforted to know she is in such a caring and skilled environment. Our family can't say enough about everyone at the Cordwainer.

We moved our parents to the Cordwainer from another assisted living facility last month and couldn't be happier with our decision. The level of caring demonstrated by every single Cordwainer employee is second to none, and they have all gone above and beyond to ensure a successful transition. The programming is amazing and allows our parents to explore their individual hobbies and interests, while also providing the mental stimulus that is so critical for people with dementia. We are so relieved to know our parents are in a community that has such an incredible culture, and our entire family feels embraced and supported by the entire Cordwainer team. We highly recommend this community to anyone with a family member who needs memory care.

When the family was exploring memory care options, we happened upon the Cordwainer. Shari and her team were beyond helpful and compassionate in providing information, options and guidance. It is obvious that they love what they do and their level of care is so much more than just a job. The facility wasn’t ready at our time of need but from the first meeting with Shari and beyond she continued to check in with us offering continued support, invites to dementia support groups and had genuine interest in the well being of our family member - as if it were her family member too. That skill isn’t taught- the compassion of this team is heartfelt.

The staff, facility, programs, residents and families of residents are all wonderful!! We agonized over our decision and we have absolutely no regrets. We highly recommend to anyone with family members with memory care challenges.

Our search to find the perfect place for our Mom began over a year ago. I worked with Megan Fisher at Oasis Senior Advisors to find this awesome senior community, The Cordwainer Memory Care Community in Norwell, MA. We moved our Mom to her new home in December of 2022. Our Mom was resistant to move from her long time home in Weymouth, understandably. We tried hard to keep her in her home. Ultimately we knew her safety and care was more than we could handle at home. It was heart wrenching but we are certain we made a good choice and the right decision. Our hope is to have Mom well cared for until end of life. Mom will be 91 this April and other than suffering from some memory loss, is in great shape! That made it very hard to make the decision to move her. The Cordwainer has opened her world to so many new and engaging activities as well as having a support community of new friends and caregivers. The community is wonderful! We know our Mom is being well cared for. The staff is attentive, caring, supportive, knowledgeable, and professional. We now sleep better and more soundly knowing our Mom is receiving the best care possible in a loving environment. From the heart, Susan Stanley

I recently had the opportunity to go to the opening of The Cordwainer in Norwell. In hectic times where individuals requiring dementia care are sometimes forgotten it was heartwarming to see this wonderful memory care facility where the most vulnerable are being treated with much respect and dignity. Not only are they using the newest technologies like the Tovertafel, an innovative light projection system, in addition the staff seamed so engaged and truly caring for the residents. The interiors, furnishings and colors are all well-appointed to give their residents a warm and homey environment. And with all the special amenities like the indoor and outdoor sensory gardens or the private family suite to spend quality time with their loved ones makes this a truly special and unique place!

I had the distinct pleasure of visiting the Cordwainer this past Thursday evening. At a time when the living options for our elderly fellow citizens are scarce and often times grim, the Cordwainer is a truly special place, one that takes dignity in living and the quality of one's surroundings as its leitmotif, and threads them through every aspect of what they offer. Like a small village, the Cordwainer organizes the life of its residents within a social framework, that offers opportunities at many scales for contact with fellow residents, family members and staff while treating private rooms like a sanctuary - generously sized, with abundant natural light and calming views to the landscape. It integrates its sophisticated treatment and memory care functions seamlessly - present and at-the-ready, without sacrificing the experience of its carefully cultivated living community. The Cordwainer is a much-welcome addition to the senior living and memory care landscape in the Boston area, one that will surely become a cherished place for families to gather and celebrate the golden years of their loved ones.

Recently, I attended the grand opening of the Cordwainer, a beautiful facility with every accommodation created for the care and compassion of residents clearly dominating the construction and programming. The proprietors have a passion for perfection in memory care that holds the dignity of each patient as the highest priority. Wishing the Cordwainer much success!

I attended The Cordwainer's open house yesterday. This new residence looks wonderful and is sure to be a leader in memory care in the area. Tamilyn and Bodo Liesenfeld and the staff were engaging and knowledgeable and you could sense their concern and commitment about the people under their care. Norwell and entire South Shore are fortunate to have access to such a state-of-the-art facility for the care and wellbeing of beloved family members in need.

The completed facility is absolutely spot on with modern and cutting edge technology for its residents. The environment is conducive for mental stimulation, independence and safety.

Simply put, Cordwainer provides real care and giving at a time when it’s needed the most. Being family owned and operated, there’s a level of human touch and familiarity that is unmatched in the industry. Thanks for truly reimagining memory care and assisted living.
