In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Excellent Read Pulls you in and keeps you guessing. It seems that each time you think you know what is going on, the rug is pulled out from you. Make sure you don't have any pressing business to attend cause once you open it, you won't put it down.

In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Was a fun story I enjoyed this book, I plan on reading the rest of the series as well. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something fun, and not too "heavy."

In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | slow start, great ending It took a few chapters to get me into the book but once I got into it, it was a breeze reading. A very smart underdog becomes the hero of the day with a fun twist at the end. Highly recommended.

In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Do you love noir type mysteries? This has art deco, people smoking, no internet, no smart phones. Noir with magic. The character development is great, the background is very well done. The magic is slightly different from the other fantasies I enjoy. A very entertaining, fast paced read. I will definitely continue following Alex and company!

In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Good mix of magical alternate reality classic Noir mystery I like the book. It’s a nice blend of an alternate history involving magic, detective skills, interesting mysteries.I finished books 1-4, before I came back to write a review because sometimes I find a series doesn’t hold up over time. I am pleased to say, in my opinion, this one holds up well. The first book lays a good groundwork and backstory. The follow on books developed the characters and followed a logical path on expanding the magical elements of the “world” they live in.(And good news for the females in the audience, contrary to classic noir, across the books the female characters are developed as intelligent, motivated, and substantially involved in the story.)

In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Make Room Butcher and Jacka I stumbled on this when I had finished a couple of long-running series that I really enjoyed. This is one of the best books I've read in the last decade. I am looking forward to the remainder of the series with great anticipation. Great characters.PS. I love period pieces, and this one feels really authentic, which I love.

Books today are like the music, all the same with only some of the words different. I felt like I was reading a book written 60 or 70 years ago. Real literature. In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Good read This is a well-written book. It's written in an older style with a great deal of description. The characters are believable. The plot is good with some unexpected developments.

Hostile Takeover (Arcane Casebook Book 8) | All of arcane books I've held off reading authors other than the 2-4 I admire. Because i run out of storage. Got the first casebook, now have read all that have been published, some twice. Only objection is with a lot of detective stories the resolutions usually hang on something unknown to reader But, I'm enjoying the stories thoroughly. Wondered if Sorsha will be reveled as a lost/unknown relative of Dr. Bell. May be too cumbersome. Stop her jealousy of other women, she's a sorceress and should be more secure of Alex.

Limelight (Arcane Casebook Book 5) | It keeps getting better! I urge you to start with the first book in this series."We are Legion".In this book there are murders, mysteries, what we "know" about magic keeps getting changed.And someone almost raises themselves to a god.Enjoy.

Limelight (Arcane Casebook Book 5) | Dialed up to 11 This is the book where the scales shift. Things are serious now, the threats and the world are growing and Alex will have to grow with them. The surprise revelation about a certain character kinda comes out of nowhere and shakes the grounded world this story has taken place in thus far, but if Willis does this right, it could really elevate this series to a whole new level.

In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Very well-done noir/mystery and very credible, fascinating magical/urban fantasy elements Loved the character building and how well the author got inside the character's heads and their motives.

Limelight (Arcane Casebook Book 5) | Favorite new series I love the characters and story. Can't wait to read the next book. This is one of my favorite series. Right up there with Harry Dresden and Nate Temple.

Limelight (Arcane Casebook Book 5) | Great Book This one has been the best so far, and I can't wait for the next. I love the way the Willis weaves several complicated cases/situations together to make one cohesive whole at the end. I had trouble putting it down.

In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Fun and magically intriguing gumshoe adventure I enjoyed the writing style and ideas about how magic functions in an alternate history Earth. The characters come across well for those familiar with pulp mysteries/gumshoe detective stories.

In Plain Sight (Arcane Casebook Book 1) | Enjoyed this very much! I’m a fan of Sherlock Holmes as well as occult detective stories. This had a perfect blend of both with a bit of pulp fiction feel to it.Looking forward to next book.
