This is a very beautiful space--the pictures really don't do it justice! It's welcoming and inclusive, and I love that they partnered with TNG to offer free rope classes (Iykyk!). They also provide drinks for visitors and have open studio time, which makes it a great spot to explore and enjoy the community.
DMS Blindfolded Experience
Loved the anticipation. Once in position, I heard rope being placed on the floor. The waiting and the wondering what was coming was palpable. Delish.
The touch outside of the rope felt so nice. They pinched the heel of my wrapped foot which felt amazing!!
Removing rope at the very end, they pressed theirthumb in hard so that when rope came off completely, it was replaced by rigger. There was not a drop. Nicely done. Loved that.
I also noticed in the beginning, they pushed the crook of my elbow to bend my arm. Loved that non-verbal communication and also the “being told what to do” aspect of it.
10 out of 10 experience. Highly recommend!
I attended the Bare Asana with Amon class and loved loved experience. Amon challenged us, but kept the session achievable for everyone. The mood was relaxed and casual and Amon gave great instruction. The Space is clean and bright. With natural sunlight coming in through three large windows. Don’t worry, there’s no line of sight into the class. I eagerly await the next class in this series.
From the people to the building, I love everything about this studio. It's a quiet and inviting space as soon as you enter. Allowing you to feel safe and encouraged to learn and experience the fun that is rope. It's a bit of a drive for me but it's absolutely worth it and I will definitely be coming back. <3
Melissa is a fabulous teacher. She's kind, patient, and encouraging. She's extremely focused and can see when my technique is off, why, and how to fix it. She makes tying, which isn't intuitive for me, both understandable and achievable. Devil Mask Studio's space is beautiful -- like a high-end dance studio (which is fitting because Shibari is a dance between Rigger and Bunny. I cannot recommend Melissa (and Nora and Andrew) more highly. Devil Mask Studio sets the bar for excellence.
This class was incredible, engaging, fun, and informative. 5 stars aren't enough. I drove over an hour to come and would gladly drive double the distance. The love the staff shows not just for the content of their lessons but also the community is so evident and felt... Will definitely be coming back, the addiction has begun
