Experience viewpoint2 Phi Phi
Place to go to watch the sunset. You'll climb a few steps, slopes... but it's worth it. You'll pay a 50 B ticket. It is advisable to take a bottle of water. Upstairs it will cost you enough.

Disappointing day out unfortunately.
Well that was disappointing. The beach was covered in rubbish. A lot of drift wood but also plastic bottles, noodle pots, plastic bags, bottle lids and more. No one clearing it up. Saw some official looking people shaking their heads at it but no one actually cleaning it up. Booked from Ao Nang Nopparat beach but they took us to the pier further up and then dropped us back on the corner of Nopparat beach the other end from the pier. They drop you in quite deep water, thigh height, and there are loads of rocks on the sea floor. After a very painful walk to the beach we had to cross an inlet that was deep mud. Straight in the shower and disinfectant on the cuts on our feet. Was really not worth it. I'd have quite happily picked up some of the rubbish off the beach but it would have taken an army of people hours. Its disgusting to see what us humans are doing to this amazing country.

Worth the walk
It's quite a climb to the first viewpoint, it's all steps however they are extremely steep in places. To get from the first to the second viewpoint it isn't so steep , the views from both are incredible and well worth it

It's worthwhile to see
It's hot, humid, and requires climbing a lot of stairs. It's worth it if a big lad like me can pull it off. We had a terrific morning with amazing picture chances, well-kept gardens, and a drink at the bottom as a reward.

Mixed emotions...Amazing views
Ang Thong is a must see if you are in Samui or the surrounding islands. the place itself is simply stunning, but this review is also about the operator so there are a few good and not so good points. I will simply list them below.Good Points.Views from the top of the hill are breathtakingThe Blue Lagoon stop is also very prettyLunch was very nice and it was good to eat on shoreSafety is considered The climb to the top of And Thong is very rewarding and challenging for some :-)The Not so good pointsWe chose the speedboat option hoping for a smaller group, but there are at least 60 people crammed onto it and there is virtually no room at all to move about or relax on the boat.Seating is adequate but by no means luxurious. The Snorkelling spot was very upsetting for me to see , as an experienced diver and regular sea swimmer, I was disgusted at the amount of rubbish on the site, there are plastic bottles EVERYWHERE, in every crevice, floating in the water and just lying around on the rocky shoreline, this really detracted from the day for me, and whilst I appreciate that tourists like myself are to blame for this, I still find it heartbreaking. As you would expect, it was very very busy at all points we went to apart from our lunch spot. You get virtually no time just to stand/sit and just be..There is a constant stream of people on all sites. There was a fair bit of waiting around at a very smelly rendezvous point in the morning, this felt unnecessary and we could have arrived 45 mins to an hour later with no problem. The climb to the top of And Thong is very rewarding and challenging for some :-)In synopsis, did I enjoy my day? Yes very much, I had my family with me which made it very special, and yes there are some spectacular vistas to be seen, would I rush to do it again? No, if I was to do again, id go low season and on a privet or much smaller tour.

Average experience
This has the potential to be a good tour, but it just doesn’t hit it yet. If you book this tour, make sure you are first in line to get undercover seating as the boats are so jam packed that there aren’t enough seats for everyone undercover so you’ll get pushed to the front of the boat seating. This doesn’t sound like much of a deal breaker, but I am so damn white, and no amount of sunscreen was stopping me from getting sunburnt and feeling like I was on the way to heatstroke. No one undercover was willing to alternate seating to share the extreme heat either. The tour guides never really directed any of the conversation to us out the front of the boat, only to those inside. You arrive at your first stop which is teaming with so many people because all the boats converge there. It was still really cool though. Snorkelling here you will see some pretty cool fish and it’s a much needed refreshing stop. Second stop is on an island which is the same problem re amount of people arriving at the same time. I get it, money needs to be made, but if I’d known it would be this packed I wouldn’t have bothered booking. Lunch island stop is nice. Lunch was good. Again with lack of seating so we found some shade and sat on a rock. Tour guide kept approaching to tell us to sit on a table that clearly could not seat an extra person, let alone 4 extra people. We travel to the last island which is so busy again, but really beautiful. We get to do 30min of kayaking which wasn’t enough. By the time everyone is out there on the water and finally grouped together, you’ve wasted 10min, and then the guide takes you out for another 10min before turning back. Would be great if you had free rein to do your own kayaking but it’s more a “hold my hand” child’s kayak tour. By this point we are absolutely destroyed from sitting in the sun all day that we can’t even really explore the island. We had the option of snorkelling again, but hours in the sun had wrecked us. Again, if you get undercover seating for the boat trip, you’ll be fine. But if you’re one of the unlucky ones, you're in for a rough day. Before the last stop, everyone on the boat needs to take all belongings so they can have a quick clean of the boat. We took this as a reset to seating so we made sure we were front of line for undercover seating on the way back, much to the anger of some other tour goers.

Magnificent views
The ascent is quite strenuous because of the many steps, but once you have finally reached the top, you have a beautiful view. I walked to Viewpoint 2 - admission is now 50 Baht - I had been there before in 2019.

One of the best beaches in Thailand
This has to be the best beach / island we visited in Thailand. We arrived by long tail from Ao Nang first thing in the morning when there was no one else quite there & we stayed all day exploring the other side to! Phra nang ♥️ even when it was busy though it’s still great! Just note that there are No cash machines on the island (that we were aware of) & some places are cash only. We didn’t manage to but Id definitely recommend staying on the island for at least 1 night!!

Viewpoints 1 and 2 all concrete. Number 3 is so much more beautiful
Viewpoints that are worth going up. On the other hand, it feels like a low-end amusement park with these very flashy concrete fruit representations. Concrete moreover omnipresent. Even the tree stumps are made of concrete. The 3rd viewpoint is the only one really worth it. Too bad we are forced to go through the first 2 paying because on private property.

Stunning Views Worth the Hike!
I recently visited Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint and it was absolutely breathtaking. The hike up is a bit challenging, especially in the heat, but the panoramic views from the top make it all worthwhile. You can see the entire island, with its lush greenery and turquoise waters. There are a few spots along the way to rest and take in the scenery, and once you reach the top, there are plenty of benches and shaded areas to relax and enjoy the view.

Cool Viewpoint
They say it's one of the best viewpoints in Thailand. Yeah, it's kind of weird, but it's 30 minutes uphill. Reserve water, you'll need it for sure. And on the first viewpoint don't stop, the second is even prettier and it's not there to walk after the first

Stunning beach
Stunning clean beach with no one selling anything cleaned every day and was a joy watching the sunsets or just having fun in the ocean.

Worth the Hike - Make sure to wear sneakers!
The view and place were beautiful! I went to Viewpoint 1 and 2 and appreciated both despite the very sweaty hike up lol. I was very glad I wore my running shoes instead of slippers! It gets quite steep (still very safe) in some areas. When going downhill, make sure your shoes have grip as the slope can get slippery if wet. There are handrails there if you need. There is a 50bht entry fee at Viewpoint 1's entrance. The funds go towards maintaining the viewpoint/s. It was also worth it with the thought and presentation that went into the decoration at VP1 specifically. VP2 was also nice and clean. The reason for the 4-stars (based on my experience) is because I found it to be overcrowded at VP2 at the time that I went which was around sunset. While I understand that sunset is THE ideal time to go, it would have been nice if the others weren't so loud and smoked so much weed that it made the whole place smell so pungent. Though, I do understand that I may have just been unlucky at the time. Nevertheless, the viewpoint itself is definitely a 5-star. There is a cafe at VP2 for you to order drinks from. The views are amazing, you can see the 2 sides of the island and generally the beautiful Koh Phi Phi landscape. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

Haphazard organization led to hospital visits
Avoid this tour group, which outsources to the Funny Day tour operator!! At our first stop the speedboat dropped us off at a shallow area for snorkeling without fins, which is a major breach in safety protocol. My boyfriend badly cut the bottom of his foot on coral while snorkeling and we were made to wait 6 hours with the tour group before getting back to Koh Samui to go to a hospital. The boat had no first aid kit aside from antiseptic, which the tour leader proceeded to apply to the cuts with his bare unsanitized hands. Someone else in the group also cut his leg and bloody water swished around on the bottom of the boat afterwards.Granted, the staff were helpful in bringing us to a basic first aid clinic in Ang Thong National Park whilst waiting to return to Samui, for helping him walk on and off the boat, and for bringing us to the hospital afterwards. Yet, we spent the rest of our trip visiting hospitals to treat and clean the wound every day and had to spend hundreds of dollars on medical care to prevent infection. To the tour operator: please carry a first aid kit, train your staff on basic first aid, provide snorkeling fins, and give the group an overview of what to expect while snorkeling. To potential customers: bring fins and first aid if you decide to go with this group! We did see another boat that provided their customers with fins so the extra cost may be worth it.

Absolutely perfect
The hike up to see the lagoon was very hard, I nearly gave up half way up. But worth it. Also the hike into angthong national park was hard. Don’t let that put you off though. You don’t have to go up, the beach is so peaceful and perfect to chill. So you can make this trip relaxing or a great work out, up to you

Destroyed paradise
We stayed for 10 days in Railay Beach. The landscape is a pure paradies. The sand of the west beach is fine and white. And the surrounding rocks make this place magic. Now the negative part: The peninsula is completely built up with hotel complexes. From 9.00 in the morning until 7.00 in the evening the longtail boats are frequenting from Ao Nang and Ao Nam Mao. And they are loud. On some days it's a almost constant noise all the day long. The boats bring the huge crowd of day tourists to the beach every day. The day tourists stay until sunset. And they leave a lot of garbage behind, which isn't cleaned by the hotel staff. The hotels even don't provide any trash bins on the beach. During our visit in April 2024 there were tons of big jellyfish on the beach. And except of the jellyfishs you won't much marine life in the water. It's no use to bring any snorkel gear. From railay beach to Ao Phra Nang Beach and the bat cave you can walk the trail or go by kayak. But this beach (which ist part of the 4 Island Tour) is also overcrowded and noisy from 09.00 in the morning. The east railay viewpoint and the adjacent lagoon are worth a visit. Is it worth to go there as a day tourist? No. There's almost no shadow. And you are not alone. Is it worth to stay there for a few days? Also no. To noisy, to overcrowded, to much garbage. I guess, the time for a visit to Railay Beach has been over. sm ~> vim railay.txt sm ~> cat railay.txt We stayed for 10 days at Railay Beach. The landscape is a pure paradies.
