Northern lights not guaranteed
We didn’t get to see the northern lights due to the weather, and were given vouchers to try to see again but due to our schedules we were unable to make the 2nd boat ride. In hindsight, I wish we chose a different excursion as there is never a guarantee to see the lights as this is a weather dependent activity. Regardless, the boat was really lovely!
Not for serious photographers.
I was lucky to be out there with this cruise when there was one of the strongest display of Northern Lights on November 12 2025. The ride was smooth. The guide was knowledgeable. We have no light contamination at all because we are out in the open. They provided us with very warm suites which helped a lot when you are out in the open on the water. The crowd size is right and everyone had a good spot to view and take pictures. The only thing that I did not realize before is that on the boat there is no way you can take pictures with long exposures because it is constantly moving. The stars in my pictures came out zig zag. So I would say this is not a way to see Northern Lights if you are a serious photographer.

Brilliant whale watching experience.
Brilliant experience , Elding Whale watching are the company to go with , very respectful of the whales which is important. We were lucky enough to see the humpback whales, one even breached by the boat.Great guide who told us about the whales , free hot chocolate to warm us up and a lovely gift shop when returning.Would highly recommend.
Very good tour, friendly staff and amazing pick up driver.
Had amazing time there. Professional crew and amazing bus driver for the pick up, we don't remember his name but he had the whole bus laughing and was very friendly and easy to talk toand the guide was wholesome and she was super informative, we don't remember her name either. The boat was clean and tidy, service was good and none of us were sickOur friends are coming next summer and we recommended them this. Thank you

We enjoyed our whale watching trip putting aside the price. Our boat never left the harbor - Reykjavik was always in sight. We saw two humpback whales quickly then the remainder of the tour was dedicated to just following these ones in circles. Seeing as it was late November, it was quite brutal on the upper deck for over an hour in the wind. We eventually went inside the cabin since we were just seeing the same two whales over and over again. We were able to get some pretty good pictures - the guide takes pictures throughout as well that were emailed to us afterwards.
amazing time:)
The weather wasn’t great, but we had an amazing time. There’s an inside area with a small shop that serves drinks and food. And there’s two layers to the top of the boat and plenty of room for everyone to get a good view. They also provide waterproof clothing if you don’t already have your own. They kept us well informed on the speaker as to where whales were spotted and if you don’t manage to get any good photos that’s okay! There is a camera man on board who takes photos then sends me out via email afterwards to people who brought tickets.

Marvellous northern lights, friendly hosts!
We booked this on our first night in Reykjavik, trying to maximize our chances of seeing northern lights, as they offer free rebookings if not. Luckily, there was no need for that, as the lights were apparent shortly after we set sail from the Old Harbour and stayed with us all throughout. The interior of the boat is warm and cozy and they announce liggt activity and tell stories about the surroundings through the intercom. The lights became intense for a moment and we could see the colors and dance with the naked eye - exactly what we were looking for. Taking clear pictures in the dark as the boat is moving is challenging, but we managed to snatch a few. Also, packing up warm, with wool layers and socks, wind protection, face covering and ideally two pairs of gloves is necessary. You will nedd to go back in and warm up, regardless. A dropbox link with more pictures taken by the hosts and a log of the trip was shared afterwards. Very happy we got to experience this, thank you!
