The studio is so calm and beautiful. I appreciated the depth that EXEX wants to take to dive into getting to know you when you fill out a questionnaire to start…Kelly really took what she read about my story and made my piece come to life in a way I could have never imagined! Every detail I shared with Kelly, she made happen. EXEX isn’t just a place to get a tattoo..it’s a whole experience! You feel welcomed into their family the minute you walk in AND you get a phenomenal piece of art 🩷 You won’t find a better place!

Kelly was wonderful to work with, she listened to all my ideas and combined them into something amazing. I initially chose her based on her previous wildlife tattoo work, and she did not disappoint with the realism she brought to the piece. Beyond the initial consultation she also gave ideas and feedback about the design over text so we could get it just perfect, and then she tattooed it in awesome detail. She is super talented and caring, was very patient during everything, and I love the incredible artwork she etched on my skin! The tattoo that Kelly created and inked makes me SO happy every time I look at it!

There are not enough words in the English language to express how amazing Jake and Kelly are. Not only as people but artists. I always look forward to getting work done by Kelly. We have great conversations, and the music is almost as good as the view looking out into the forrest. It was a great experience as well as a fantastic journey ! I had an idea that Jake brought to reality. 43 years of the dogs I've loved and lost are now on my arm. I am so lucky to have them all with me again ! Each session was a great time for Jake and i to talk and for me to meet and bond with his family, which I have adopted as mine. Truly beautiful people. Then there is the Queen of Communication, Mariah. She has an awesome energy and makes the place complete! She helped make each session memorable and always made me feel special ! I highly recommend EXEX tattoo. You will be impressed !

Jake designed and executed my tattoo. It's my favorite tattoo ever. My experience was amazing. Jake, Kelly, and Mariah are all very kind, accepting, open people that will make you feel welcome and comfortable. I added a few progress photos as my tattoo isn't complete yet. I highly recommend them.

Couldn’t recommend EXEX higher!! I got my sleeve done by Jake and it turned out much better than I ever could have imagined. As background, I searched for the right artist, across the upper Midwest, for around 3 years, then I found Jake. After seeing his work, and going through his initial intake process, I knew that I had found the right artist. He took the time on the front end to understand the meaning in the piece, and because of that, was able to come up with a killer design that blew me away. Once we got into the sessions, I was fortunate enough to get to know Kelly and Jake more. They are phenomenal people, and even more talented artists. I’m not sure what part of the process I enjoyed most, the initial intake and questionnaire in which my vision came to life in the design, the sessions themselves, or the final product. All parts were expertly crafted and executed. IMO - the overall process and outcome rivals anyone out there. You will NOT go wrong by working with EXEX. I’ll be back for more in the future! I attached a pic showing just one piece on my sleeve. Now that it’s done, I’m getting compliments almost every time I wear a short sleeve shirt!

100% would recommend Jake and Kelly to anyone. The shop itself is clean and has a calming atmosphere with all the plants. Jake is my artist and I've received so many compliments on my tattoo. It's super detailed and amazing work. He is meticulous about placement and making sure it flows well with the body and has even drawn some freehand on the skin. I'll have to upload some pictures when it is finished since it's a large piece. There's so many good things to say about Jake and Kelly. I would never go to another shop again.

I don't know where to start... they are so awesome here! I went to Kelly with a vague vision for my sentimental piece. She designed something better than I ever could have imagined. Not only is her artwork beautiful, but she understood how emotional and meaningful it was for me and took the time to truly care. I appreciated the process. It made me so comfortable and confident in Kelly. I knew I would be getting exactly what I wanted (actually, better). Really great place; clean and bright and comfortable. Really gifted artists, and genuinely amazing people.

I spent a long time looking for the right place to get a head tattoo and Bertelsen is the place. Kelly did my tattoo and she did an amazing job! She went into more detail then I could even have imagined, she put to paper the idea I had in my head and she did it flawlessly. I never once felt like just a customer, I felt like I was hanging out with friends getting a tattoo, this was an amazing experience and I couldn't be happier!
