This place is ridiculous! They will cancel your appointment day of or day before. I’ve had three total appointments here, two of which were cancelled with very short notice. When rescheduling they will make you wait months. Ironically, if you are late to an appointment by even ten minutes you will have to reschedule for months later. I had an appointment but was coming from work so I called to tell them I’d be a little late. They replied we only give 10 minutes grace period. I got there within 15 minutes and they said they’d marked me as a no show after I’d called. They were going to check me in but one of the staff exclaimed “cHeCk ThE tImE”! Completely rude and inconsiderate staff and providers. If im going to work with you AND PAY YOU you should work with me. Dr Carvell is decently nice, but will nickel and dime you to death. She has little care for how much things cost. Her NP is also very rude and impatient. He allowed a student in training do an exam without asking which is against the law. Little compassion or excellence here. Look elsewhere.

I had done some major research to find the right Dr for me. I picked Carvell after narrowing it down to 3. Being a new patient had to wait almost 5 months to see her. My appointment was tomorrow at 7:40 am. I just received a call at 11:14 stating that she won't be in tomorrow or Thursday and that she is out till June right now for new patients. No rescheduling as soon as possible because they are canceling all their appointments for 2 days. Looks like she has too many patients. I'm So Disappointed! I guess the universe is telling me to look for a different Dr. I don't feel like this office cares.

Dr. Carvell is a wonderful provider. I've been seeing her for 2 years. From my experience she listens, is thorough, and is personable. Dr. Carvell has been able to figure out concerns that I have had for years, but had never been appropriately diagnosed by other providers. Most recently, she has been wonderful at referring me to doctors in specialized fields. Overall, I would say that Dr. Carvell is a knowledgeable doctor who is able to make her patients feel welcome, heard, and healthier!

I've never had such a negative experience with a doctor or their office. First, Dr. Carvell cancelled my first appointment with her on the morning-of because she didn't want to do virtual appointments (this was in summer of 2020, during the pandemic), so I was initially frustrated by the lack of communication between the doctor and her staff.
Next, when I got another appointment, I had to wait about 5 weeks to see her in person. Then, the day of my appointment, the nurse who did my intake took my temperature and it was high enough that due to COVID rules they couldn't see me. Annoying, but understandable. But I had already been in the office for about an hour by the time they decided I couldn't be seen, and again, it wouldn't be an issue if Dr. Carvell would be flexible enough to do a virtual appointment, at least in case of emergency. The nurse begged her to do a virtual with me so I could at least get my prescriptions filled. She agreed and then never showed up to the virtual appointment.
When I finally did see her, she profusely apologized for standing me up. I accepted because doctors are human, too. She then took me off my ADHD medication despite having tests and diagnosis from my last provider. She sent me to a psych to get diagnosed again which cost me out of pocket.
The last time I was supposed to see her, I ran late and when I got to the office, there was a line literally out the door of people waiting to get checked in. I think the desk was short staffed that day, and with temp checks for COVID, it takes longer now. By the time I got checked in, I was about 12 minutes late. Dr. Carvell refused to see me. It was clear to me that the desk worker who had to tell me that had begged on my behalf since it wasn't my fault that it took so long to check in, but Carvell didn't budge. This was the last straw for me. I'm a forgiving person, the kind of person that gives leeway to a doctor when they miss a virtual appointment because I don't know what else might be going on in her life. What bothered me most about Carvell was that I gave her slack after we got off on the wrong foot, but when I needed it, she didn't give me slack back. That's not the patient care I'm looking for. I left and never went back to Carvell or to Community Health.

Dr carvell was very nice and attentive. My doctor retired, so I was forced to do a patient consultation before she would see me as a patient. For this 20 minute meeting, she charged blue cross $600. While the Dr had my file out, I told her that 6 months earlier I had been to ortho indy. They diagnosed me with arthritis in both knees. I told her they had x-rays and they recommended exercise to build up the muscle around my knees. Dr carvell concured and then sent me a bill, separate from t he new patient meeting, for $35.00 for discussing the arthritis i was telling her about to make sure it was in my medical records. I spent $300 at ortho indy, I feel dr carvell owes me $35 for the education I have given her on my arthritis! The insurance company has a cap of $600 so they billed me as an additional consultation. I have called to dispute this. Several times, no response except from the collection agency they have calling me to collect the $35........
