The food is great!
I paid via the barcode on the ticket and the person checking out people at the door tried to get me to pay again.
Also the past two times we’ve went, the entire restaurant has reeked of sewage. I hope they are able to eliminate this smell as I don’t think we’ll be back until it is as it’s just so overpowering.

The chips did not taste fresh. I have had way better salsa it was very bland. The street tacos needed to be doubled up. They fell apart when I tried to eat them. The pork was okay, though. The garnish in the beans and rice. We're probably the best thing on my plate. There was just a foul funky smell in the air.

Ordered a taco salad for takeout last night, my husband mentioned a foul odor(possibly mold) in the restaurant when he walked in to pick it up. Food was okay, definitely bland and they didn't add the correct toppings I picked so I’m not sure what the confusion was. Also I woke up sick in the middle of the night. Would definitely not eat here again lol

Regarding the odor, we’re in a new building and have noticed it as well. We’re actively working with the landlord and the construction team to resolve this issue, which has been identified as a plumbing problem during construction. This is already partially resolved, and we’re confident that it will be fully addressed soon.

Our group walked in this evening. The place has a very pungent sewer / sewage smell. We left. We will not return. It was so bad. 🤮

We ate here for lunch on Saturday. The food was good, but there was SUCH a terrible smell in the restaurant it was hard to stand. It’s like a mixture of sewer gas and mold or something like that.
There was a large group that walked in and waited to be seated only to walk back out after a minute or two.
The people behind us actually asked for their food to go because the smell was so terrible. I hope management gets to the bottom of it soon as they’re probably losing a lot of business because of it.

We have been here twice. First time the food was great and the service was too. So we decided to go with family next and it happened twice within a month. However, when we went back, the waitress was so negligent. Her tone was very rude without a greeting smile. She did not even make recommendations when asked for kids (simply said she never ate there?).She did not bother checking back or refilling. She also dripped food on our minor child and didn’t bother apologizing. She didn’t even come to collect the bill, so we went to the counter to pay and for the first time came out without tipping. I remember her name to be Merlyn. Won’t go back to this restaurant unfortunately if this kind of people serve. Rude servers not only bring bad reputation to businesses but also lose customers.

Very expensive and the food is just mediocre. The house margaritas are $10, the specialty ones are $15 and up.

Food was okay. There are more better places around des moines than this. Service was also okay. I would not say its the best or great. But it was okay

I thought I would try this place out, because of all the good reviews. But sadly I did not get the good experience as others did. The food was not very hot and the taste was blend. I will stick with my favorite place, Los Tres Amigos.

Food was great, service was awful. We had 3 different people helping us. One when we sat down who took our drinks, the second who took our order, and the third who brought out the food. The waitress didn’t come back for nearly 45 minutes no refills not to check or anything. We finally went up to the bar to ask for our waitress and she came back 10 minutes later looking confused. She then disappeared after helping us and never returned. Finally the bartender came around and gave us our checks. Very bad experience will not be returning.

We decided to try this place out as it was close to the job site. This place did not disappoint.Friendly service and plenty of seating indoors and patio area. We opted to sit inside and atmosphere was pleasant. The waitress was friendly. I ordered the grilled fajitas from the lunch menu. Serving was more than plenty. If you were thinking of coming but was unsure of quality of service and food then let this be the review to have you stop by. I will definitely come back.

Great new spot in Waukee. The Mexican sampler platter was very good. I had fajitas and they were great. My wife enjoyed her burrito. The vibe and mood is great during lunch. Not sure what it's like in the evening.
