As a lover of Turkish cuisine, I was excited to learn of a fairly new Turkish restaurant in Boynton Beach. It is called the Happy Lavash Inspired Mediterranean Restaurant and it has been open for approximately 1  1/2 years. The restaurant was small but comfortable, attractive and clean, with white tiled tables. The front counter displayed several Middle Eastern desserts like baklava and Kadaifi. Admittedly, when I came here, I was expecting an eatery with table service and such. With the paper plates and plastic cutlery, this immediately became apparent to me that this was really more of a take-out place than an eat-in place, serving Turkish fast food. Even though this was not what I expected from this restaurant, I was intrigued by the offerings that I saw on the menu. I wound up ordering a nice sampling of delectables. Upon closer inspection, I noted that the cooler held a variety of standard American beverages as well as an impressive collection of Turkish sodas and Turkish mineral water, along with cans of my favorite- Visne sour cherry juice. They also had Efes beer from Turkey and bottles of yogurt drink called Ayran, as well as American beers and single-serving cups of wine. So, for my beverage, I selected the Tamek Visne Nektari sour cherry juice and a bottle of Uludag mineral water. Once the food began to arrive, I quickly forgot about any misgivings I might have had about the fast-food aspect of this restaurant. It was apparent that everything was freshly made in-house, from the Lavash flatbread that was baked to order on a baking pan, to the house-made desserts. I started with the Mercimek Corbasi red lentil soup. It came to my table in a paper cup, piping hot accompanied by a serving of fresh made Lavash, baked right in front of me. The soup was so delicious and very well-seasoned. As for the Lavash, it was like silk! The bread was soft, yet had a slight bite. It was perfect! I have never had fresh Lavash like this before. I then ordered a Coban Shepherd Salad of finely diced cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions and Italian parsley. Compared to Coban Salatasi that I have had as other Turkish restaurants, I felt that there was too much parsley. Nevertheless, the salad was still delicious. This was accompanied by another serving of that wondrous Lavash bread. I also ordered a meze of Baba Ganoush eggplant salad spread. As soon as I sampled it, I could taste the smoky flavor of the roast eggplant. From what I understood by chatting with the owner, she uses eggplants imported from Turkey in her recipes! I then received my main course, their Thursday special called Hunkar Begendi. Translated as the Sultan's Delight, it is a classic Turkish delicacy dating back to the opulent days of the Ottoman Empire. It consists of a savory stew of lamb resting upon a pillow of roasted eggplant and Kasar cheese mash. It was delightful, although it was served in a paper bowl. This came with tiny hot peppers, rice and a small Coban Salatasi. For dessert, I ordered their house-made Baklava, the sweet and crunchy buttery layers of Phyllo dough filled with sweetened, ground walnuts. This was perhaps the most perfect Baklava I have had in a long time, and was reminiscent of the Baklava my late aunt used to serve to us when I used to visit my family in Croatia back in the seventies and eighties. But the biggest treat was the Turkish coffee. Rich and potent, I ordered mine Sekerli- very sweet. It came on a porcelain cup, encased inside an ornate silver cup holder, resting on top of a gorgeous silver tray etched with Muslim designs. For a fleeting moment, I felt like a sultan! For my takeout order, I got the Lamb Kofte. These were nicely seasoned disks of ground lamb, grilled and served on top of a bed of tasty bulgur wheat, along with a side of seasoned hand-cut French fries. This restaurant has such great potential. The food is outstanding and it is very apparent that the chef-owner takes great pride in the quality of her craft. I realize that it is their mission to serve Turkish fast food, hence the disposable plates and cutlery. But it is my only hope that once they build up a larger clientele, they will be able to serve their food upon proper porcelain plates with metal cutlery. Because cuisine of this high a caliber deserves nothing less!

Was there for the first time last night. From the first taste of the humus and salad, I knew I'd have to come back. Very friendly and welcoming people,  the lavash is fresh made, nice vegetarian options. Very well priced too. Next time, I plan to try a dessert too. In a word...YUM

The baklava from Happy Lavash is exquisite! I have yet to try other menu items but I'm sure I'll be by to try some soon. As it stands, the baklava here is phenomenal and an excellent value for the portion.

Happy Lavash is another discovery of the pandemic. This cute little spot is located on the west side of I-95 and Gateway Boulevard. The restaurant was setup at the advent of covid hence they have a community table which most probably hasn't been used much and most of the business is take out. We have dined in a couple of times and the food is amazing specially when you eat it fresh. The menu is pretty simple with many different options including vegan and beyond meat entrees. They run a couple of specials on weekdays. Service is prompt and the owner os always available if you have any questions or comments. 5 star spot serving Mediterranean options.

There's a certain magic of being able to eat somewhere and feeling as if you are transported far away, and then there is Happy Lavash.  It is that same magical feeling, except now you've been transported to a family kitchen in Istanbul. The owner is such a pleasure and joy, her greeting alone already sets the tone for what is to come.  My wife and I were not prepared for the quality of food, "This doesn't feel like a restaurant, I feel as if we are in someone's home" was the description.  The food was fresh, made right when we ordered.  We had the lentil soup, greek salad, lamb tantooni, side order of lavash bread, turkish coffee, and baklava.  ALL OF IT was wonderful. If you are in Boynton, don't give where you should eat another thought and go.  If you are in Palm Beach County it is worth the drive, I can assure you. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience, today is the first of many visits! Frank Edit: My goodness, how did I forget the fries?!?!?  ORDER THE FRIES!!!

Sooo good!!! My husband and I tried this place for the first time yesterday. We’re newer to the area and are so happy we found a place that has such delicious and fresh food! My Greek salad with chicken had so much flavor and my husbands order of lamb and rice was excellent too! The baklava was amazing! Hummus was so fresh and flavorful. I can’t recommend this place enough. Can’t wait to come back!
