Tami is super nice and very welcoming. The food is great. Someone mentioned they had an issue with food allergies. I also have food allergies. My recommendation is to check every single one of the dishes, including the sauces. It's not always easy for someone to remember without being asked. I come often here. The fish wrap is really good. Shrimp and grits are amazing. But the cornbread is the best part.

My experience at Harlem soul food was extremely unpleasant. Me and my girlfriend ordered two fish wraps and I had two side one being Mac and cheese and the other being yams . When my girl friend ordered her food she asked the person taking the order which was the manager of there was any onions because she is allergic. The manager stated there wasn’t after taking a few bites we discovered that there was salsa on the wrap which contains onions. Not only was the manager not being mindful she had put my girl friend life in jeopardy. I will never in my life eat from this location or business ever again . BE CAREFUL When ordering from this location .!!!!!

The little girl cashier is a liar and the old lady cook is rude.

Was expecting authentic Harlem soul food but left unsatisfied. The waffles were soggy and undercooked, lacking the crispy texture I crave. The chicken tenders (not wings as expected) were tasteless. To make matters worse, the server assumed I wanted syrup on the chicken tenders, which was an unwelcome surprise. Leave it up to me to add condiments to my food. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the cultural soul I was craving. It was so disappointing that I ended up sharing it with my dog. This business just has to go back to the drawing board and live up to that soulful name.

Prices in menu do not reflect what is in there POS. I ordered lunch and it came up more expensive when I was charged, I asked why and they said “the menu needs to be updated” and did not honor shown prices.

This is the 4th time I wasted my money at this spot… they do not season their food!!! fish, Mac and cheese tasteless… collards YUCK it was all tasteless!! It’s expensive and tasteless and I will not be returning because I didn’t enjoy none of my $100 I spent so far

Eu estava em NY e fui até o Brooklin só para experimentar a comida que vi na Netflix. A história é muito bacana, mas não vale a pena pela comida. A expectativa foi muito maior que o que entregam. Além disso o preço não corresponde à qualidade do produto. Em Manhattan tem camarão e peixe empanado muito, mas muito melhor que este.

We saw the Netflix show that highlighted Harlem Seafood Soul. Whilst on holiday, we went looking for this eatery and we were not at all disappointed. The food was delicious - one of the best of our trip. The service was excellent. So pleased we found you!

The black wide lady with the glasses was EXTREMELY rude and distasteful. The food was the most atrocious thing I’ve ever ate in life. I spent $28 on a SMALL portion of Mac & cheese with an order of shrimp. Which taste like the BOTTOM of the Bikini Bottom ocean. The Mac and cheese had absolutely NO flavor. Cheese ? It’s absent because there was nothing cheesy about it. My friend also got the shrimp, Mac & cheese and fish. The fish was as soft and uncook. Very salty. How is this place not out of business? Everything was a 0/10. There are rude, there are over priced! Spend your money elsewhere.

I've walked by this stall a few times on my way to other shops inside Dekalb Market and have always been drawn by the smell of the seasoning and batter. I (finally) recently ordered the Uptown Special, which included fried fish, fries, and jumbo shrimp. Even though it was past 8:30, the chef made it fresh, and the fish/shrimp were perfectly flaky/crunchy and not too greasy. If you're ordering fried food, I highly recommend dining-in (instead of taking out) for the fresh/crispy bites.

Food is delicious. I don’t know how they make the fries, but they are tasty and crunchy. Get the cornbread for desert:) Hidden gem.

Shrimp wasn’t seasoned to perfection but at least it was seasoned and actually taste good. I know a lot of soul food and black seafood restaurants are doing this now a days to help people with high blood pressure that patronize restaurants and I’ve seen restaurants where they get horrible with not seasoning the food, like “I want my money back and I want my money back right now, and not now but RIGHT NOW” type of not seasoning the food adequately enough-bad. I’ll try out the fish and chicken (Brooklyn combo) the next time I come here.

Jetzt Brooklyn. Man muss mit der Rolltreppe nach E-1 fahren. Der Fisch war komplett durchgebraten (trocken), die Pommes sehr lecker. Der Kuchen den wir vorab bekommen hatten war lecker. Der Umgangston mit ihrer Angestellten ist rauh. Da wenig los war ging die Bestellung schnell

The food was awful and overpriced for what we were served. My daughter ordered catfish and fries with a side of MAC & cheese, I ordered the fried chicken with side of mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. The catfish was fried extremely hard, the Mac & cheese was devoid of any flavor or seasoning. The sweet potatoes were just awful. They were not sweet or flavorful, just over cooked or reheated too many times. The buttermilk fried chicken was a chicken tender. That was not indicated on the menu. I actually tipped them when I paid for my order which was overpriced. The meal was a big disappointment! I definitely will not patronize this restaurant ever again! I was visiting with my daughter and I live in the south. She was missing Soul food. They definitely don’t know how to cook Soul food, please stop!!!

Very slow service and bad customer service I'm embarrassed

Candied yams are the nastiest I’ve ever had bland as hell even the liquid is clear The other food I got was not that great either smh disappointed

Unfortunately I had a bad experience the next time around. Im not sure if when the main lady is not there, if the food is made differently, but it was indeed different. Not pleased smh

First experience with the owner mac and cheese was good, the catfish was yummy. Second time without the owner the food was DISGUSTING. My food was cold. Container half empty. The mac n cheese had no cheese and the collard greens taste like water. Huge disappointment that food is not consistent.
