Such an amazing place! We had a one night valentines stay at the owl lodge with a stunning dinner in the evening. The cleanliness of the lodge was second to none. It was beautifully decorated and the general atmosphere is so calming and lovely. The hot tubs are a great addition to the lodges, super relaxing! We had some issues with accessing our emails that had important arrival information so we ended up talking to the owners, who were ever so helpful and kind and patient with us. You can tell they put a lot of care and thought into the place. Incredibly good experience and would love to come back again.

We’ve just done a 1 night stay on the Kingfisher narrow boat and were so impressed! Everything from the moment we checked in to the second we left was perfect. The grounds are beautiful, the facilities have everything you need and more - and the boat itself was so lovely! Really enjoyed the novelty of staying on a narrow boat, would recommend to anyone! The luxury breakfast hamper was a massive bonus too. Thank you for a lovely stay - hope to be back soon!

myself and my partner had a two-night getaway at Hawthorn Hideaway, and I couldn't of asked for anything better. We stayed in the swan lodge, which was beautiful. The log burner being my favourite thing about the lodge. They were so comfortable and luxurious. we also had a couples deluxe massage in the yurt, which was amazing, and then on the evening we had the private dining experience, which was second to none. the private chef had made the menu to our taste and requirements, as I like everything but my partner isn't quite as adventurous. Nothing was too much to ask for. The hosts, Josephine and Ronnie, were very welcoming and friendly, and I could not recommend this place more if I tried too. im already looking to see when we are free to try the kingfisher.

Just returned from a fantastic 2 night stay in Owl Lodge. This place is a real hidden gem, beautiful lodge, stunning area and private garden, great facilities and the hosts were wonderfu! The welcome/breakfast hamper is a real bonus too, we will definitely be returning!

There are not enough words to express how amazing this place is! It was my husbands 40th birthday and Jo and Ron went out of their way to make this stay so special! All the suppliers they use are high quality as well! Special mention for Sarah the private Chef just wow! Breath taking food and service! Will defo be coming back!

Aww thank you, don't worry you found all the right words. So very kind to respond in such a positive way. And yes Sarah is amazing, we are so lucky to work with so many excellent people. They are all assets. We all work together to improve each others businesses. We'd honestly not be doing this if I had to do the housekeeping or Cheffing (is that a thing?), I'd be rubbish and our business would be very mediocre. Instead we have almost 100% perfect reviews almost everywhere. A very special achievement. You just don't see that every day. It's such an achievement It's not down to me or Jo it's down to the teams of other businesses we have around us. A massive shout out and thank you to them all. The people who never let us down, who rearrange their weekends to accommodate our guests. Our esteemed housekeepers, who know more about our business than we do, they cover us for holidays and the standards go up! Shelley our almost next door neighbour who casually dropped in one day to ask if we needed a therapist, when we did, but how likely was your neighbour to have magic hands, the touch that our business needed, so it wasn't without some trepidation that we said yes. We didn't want a friendship to go wrong as it so easily could have. Turns out she's one of, if not THE best in the area. Same with our Chefs, we just stumbled across them and we are all perfect for each other. They are also amazing. We have a constant worry we'll lose them because they are just too good. I lose sleep over how good they are lol. Sad but true. So thank you for thanking our partner businesses, they are amazing.

**Unforgettable Birthday & Proposal Experience at Hawthorn Hideaway**

From the moment we arrived at Hawthorn Hideaway, it was like stepping into a dream. My partner surprised me with this incredible trip for my birthday, and every detail exceeded anything I could have imagined.

The hideaway is tucked away in a serene, private woodland area, with just two cabins, each equipped with its own hot tub. The privacy was a huge relief for me as I wear a hijab, and it allowed me to completely relax and unwind without worry. The cabin itself was a masterpiece—beautifully decorated with hanging roses, rose petals, and balloons. The thoughtful decor brought me to tears of happiness, setting the tone for what would become one of the most memorable stays of my life.

The owners were so welcoming and kind, and it became clear how much effort both my partner and the team at Hawthorn Hideaway had put into making this experience perfect. On the first evening, I was told to get ready for dinner in the yurt. Little did I know, it would be the most magical moment of my life.

When I entered the yurt with my eyes closed, I opened them to find the most breathtaking proposal setup and an intimate private dining experience waiting for us. We were treated to an incredible meal prepared by our private chef, Sarah. Sarah had worked closely with my partner to plan a personalised menu that was nothing short of extraordinary. As two foodies, we were blown away by her culinary expertise and her ability to pair flavors so thoughtfully.

Sarah went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary needs, sourcing halal meat and even crafting her first-ever mocktail, which turned out to be absolutely delightful. Her attention to detail was impeccable, from the stunning presentation of the dishes to the personalised menu she created just for us. The entire experience was magical, and yes, I cried again!

The rest of our stay was equally enchanting. We enjoyed the outdoor sauna with views of a peaceful lake and the soothing sounds of birdsong. One evening, we booked the BBQ hut, which provided a unique and cozy indoor-outdoor dining experience. Mornings were a surprise too, waking up to the clucking of chickens, hahah!

Aww Kiki, what an honour to host you both and to be trusted with such an impeccably tasteful and well thought out event. You both made such a lovely couple. Abdulla has set the bar so high that us mere mortals may as well throw in the towel now. It won't be topped. We take these events very seriously they are so important and the memory will last forever. I wish I'd realised that when I thought it would be hilarious to throw my girlfriend a box with a ring in it and shouted catch. It was funny in my head. I think I'm now going to have to do a vow renewal or something to erase the memory of that clumsy proposal. Which just seems worse every time someone raises the bar, and boy did Abdullah raise the bar. the food, the timing, the outfits and all kept secret until the last minute. Hats off Abdullah but you've cost me dear. I'm going to have to go back and do it properly one day. Seriously though, a night like this has to go right, you want nothing but positive memories of a lifetime milestone. Something you'll be looking back on for the rest of your life, and all you want is good memories, special memories, better than all the memories that have preceded that night. So we feel , yeah a bit of responsibility. especially after having been so rubbish at my own. My wife especially was so happy for you both Sarah and Josephine were tucked away in our kitchen but in the moment with you. They came back and shrieked that you'd said yes. I never got a shriek when we got engaged. All the best and congratulations. We look forward to seeing you again one day. Hopefully for something less stressful.

What a wonderful magical retreat. We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary, a couple of nights to escape from our busy lives and it was well worth it.
Beautiful lodge, fantastic breakfast basket, so many small touches that made our time extra special. Loved the bbq cabin, and sitting in the hot tub watching the wind and rain was magical. A great walk to and from Misterton along the canal. Ronnie was incredibly helpful throughout. Highly recommend and very much hope to return.

We came to the hideaway for our honeymoon and were blown away!
The Swan lodge was beautiful the pictures don't do it justice I cried at how beautiful it was and how much effort the team had gone to!
They were super friendly and helpful and we couldn't ask for more. They've gone above and beyond and was better than 10 nights in Barbados! With having a baby we don't get away much and will be returning as we felt so looked after.

Wow thanks Gabrielle, as you'll see on other reviews we take our honeymooners seriously, we take all our guests stays very seriously but we feel so honoured that so many guests choose us for their milestone celebrations. It's an honour and we take it very seriously. We want to make sure our guests have nothing but wonderful memories of their stay. It's not to say we don't ever have unexpected problems, breakdowns etc.. We just try to deal with them as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Also, now we have been going a bit longer we know the things that are most likely to break down, so we make sure we have extras to hand. Anyway - sorry I don't know why I'm blathering on about problems as we didn't really have any for your stay. It was an absolute honour to have you both onsite for your honeymoon this weekend. We hope we did manage to help make many special memories to take away. You were a pleasure to deal with and were brilliant to have on site. We've had a lovely weekend with all our guests this weekend, despite some dodgy weather. Thank you for taking time out from your break to send us such a positive review. We really need them. Our business is all about genuine reviews and we endeavour to make sure our customers get a break like no other, and leave with memories of a positive experience. We supply surprise extras, we don't have hidden costs, the price you pay is what you pay. The price of your stay includes a large breakfast hamper with extras, a wood starter pack - all our lodges are centrally heated but we give you wood for your log burner - just for the romance. In the summer you can use the wood in your outdoor fire bowl. The price of your stay includes private access to our sauna, steam room and cosy indoor BBQ - it's such an experience to have a BBQ in our cosy cabin while it's winter outside. We'll supply the charcoal. We don't mind you bringing your own wood as long as it's certified dry and seasoned if you are using it in our indoor log burners. Best of all we empty, clean and refill our hot tubs so they are clean safe and ready to use from arrival. Sorry, i seem to have hijacked a review response to get across some of the things we do at Hawthorn Hideaway to make sure your stay is special. Hi Anthony, thank you so much for the positive ratings. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay on Kingfisher, which is by far our most popular accommodation in the summer, but falls back in the winter, I guess potential customers worry that the boat will be chilly in the winter, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. It still has it's own central heating system, we have electric heaters on standby should that fail and it also has a really cosy log burner, which we will supply a starter pack of wood for. The boat has a surprisingly high amount of head room, it's not just for shorties, it's 6ft plus. The boat also has a king sized wall to wall bed, it's slightly higher than a normal bed but it's so lovely to go to sleep gently rocking on the water. To wake up to nature and wildlife coming to visit in the morning. If you are lucky you can see a kingfisher on Kingfisher, At the moment the swans Sid and Nancy come to visit regularly, with their almost adult babies. We have the mallards native to the canal as well as our own Aylesbury duck and our 3 really handsome boys the Carugas, fairly rare domesticated ducks in the UK, these 3 moved onto our pond in the summer but have stayed through the winter. They'll come and tap gently on the side of the boat until someone comes out to feed them. They get fed lots of expensive high quality pellets in the garden but love scraps from the boat. They are friendly lads though. All that aside, it was a pleasure to have you onsite Anthony. We really hope to see you again one day. Thank you for taking the time out to leave us a rating. The perfect opportunity arose as our child was staying over night at respite so myself and my husband jumped at the rare chance and booked our stay. We stayed for two nights on the Kingfisher narrow boat and it was lovely. So private, quiet and romantic and the surroundings we're just perfect. It has it's own private hot tub and you're right on the canal with amazing views. It was definitely a different experience staying on a narrow boat but one that all should try if you get the chance, it has everything you need for your stay plus extra luxuries. We also hired out the private BBQ cabin which is included with your stay and it was perfect, so cozy and completely private just for you to use. We stayed for two nights on the Kingfisher narrow boat and it was lovely. So private, quiet and romantic and the surroundings we're just perfect. It has it's own private hot tub and you're right on the canal with amazing views. It was definitely a different experience staying on a narrow boat but one that all should try if you get the chance, it has everything you need for your stay plus extra luxuries. We also hired out the private BBQ cabin which is included with your stay and it was perfect, so cozy and completely private just for you to use. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back and stay in one of the cabins if possible.
