Hestia Hearth Design Reviews

Upon several friends recommendation and positive reviews online, we decided to hire Hestia Hearth Design for our ensuite renovation. We have lived in our house for 37 years without updating the bathrooms! During all of the reno, Alice supported us and coordinated everything beautifully and she stayed in contact and frequently visited to follow progress. The work was completed in a timely manner and each and every tradesperson was excellent and showed such pride in their workmanship. We are so delighted that we had them back the week after the ensuite was complete and had them renovate our family bathroom, too! We are so thrilled! Hestia Hearth has done multiple projects for us. One was a mostly cosmetic overhaul on a kitchen and bathroom but included building a new kitchen island and reconfiguring the cabinets and vanity in the bathroom, the other was nearly a total house renovation included structural work removal structural walls and building supports, moving HVAC duct work, building a new kitchen, moving and building walls on the second floor, demolishing an old bathroom and building a new larger bathroom from scratch, building a laundry room/walk in closet where there was a bedroom, new flooring throughout entire house and new stairs. We keep hiring Hestia Hearth when we have major renovations to do because they are really good. 1.) They honour their timeline commitments. Unlike many contractors, when they gave us a timeline they are always within a few days of meeting the deadline. 2.) They are flexible and receptive to our ideas and to working with us within the constraints we face. 3.)Most importantly for us, Hestia Hearth has always charged us a reasonable price. It is criminal what some contractors are charging. Most recently Hestia Hearth is currently finishing the inside of our garage into living space. We got 3 quotes from different contractors this time as we also intend to build a new garage on the driveway in front of where the original garage was so we thought we should consider some contractors who specialize in building additions. Hestia Hearth is doing a great job once again and quoted us nearly 50% of what the other 2 contractors quoted. They seem to really value saving the client money and avoiding making the client pay for things that are not necessary. We had a carpet company come and put carpeting in one of our properties years ago and we really liked the carpet. We mentioned to James that we were going to contact them to go the same carpet in the garage addition and when we told James what we paid he said "Oh my God. Guys no. Let me check with my suppliers. I am sure I can find you a comparable product for less than that. That is ridiculous what you paid for this!" They are vigilant about cost savings but not as the expense of safety and code. They always come back to what the code is. Sometimes they will ask if we are certain that we want or need a specific item since it is not mandated as per code. For instance we are building a bathroom and if the bathroom had a window in it but we asked for a fan, Hestia Hearth would clarify, "Are you sure you want the fan? Building Code says you need to have either a window or a fan but you don't need to have both. It would save you a bit of money if we could remove this from the quote." 4.) Knowing what we are getting into. Hestia Hearth has been really good about giving us a detailed itemized quotes prior to completing the work and honouring this price. If and when there have been unknowns they are up front about it and give us the range of what it could cost and options for how we can explore what is behind the wall to confirm the cost. 5.) There have been times during some of our projects that Hestia Hearth has had a sub contractor do a bad job on a component of the project. This happened with our stairs during our whole house renovation. The subcontractor really did not know what they were doing and we wound up with a garbage outcome. When we pointed out some of the deficits and told Alize and James we were not happy, they took the stairs off our project bill all together. We could have kept the work that the crappy subcontractor did free of charge. We looked for a sub that specialized in stairs and when we couldn't find one we begged Alize and James to network and they found a new and better subcontractor that did a great job. They had to pay for this component of the project twice but when it came to what they billed us, they honoured the quote. 6.) They are always easy to communicate with and quick to get back to us. We've recommended them to all our friends and family. Highly Recommend Hestia Hearth!

The entire renovation process exceeded my expectations in terms of smoothness. Ivan and his team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and responsibility throughout, assisting in the replacement of floors, stairs, and painting the entire house. Moreover, beyond the scope outlined in the contract, they addressed additional issues by repairing outdoor sockets and replacing side door locks. If the opportunity arises, I would undoubtedly choose their services again.

Hestia Hearth Design was amazing from start to finish. The design choices we were given for our kitchen and flooring were inspiring and showed clearly how the finished room would be. Help was given on design finishing details. The estimate was competitive and didn't change after the work was done. The work was done professionally and any issues were dealt with and solved quickly. Even after the work was completed, they were always there to help if there were any small issues that cropped up. Alice and James are friendly and kind and it was such a pleasure to work with them. The work was completed in the timeline estimated. You won't be disappointed when you hire them.

My Wife and I had put off renovating our kitchen for many years, because we couldn't find a contractor with the right mix of Quality, Value and Professionalism and truthfully it was daunting task. Then we found Hestia Hearth. They are a renovation/ builder company out of Burlington. The team at Hestia Hearth, demonstrated the professionalism and quality we were looking for. Alice, James and Ivan are the owners and guided us through all available options and designs and walked us seamlessly through the whole renovation process, as to what to expect cost of fixtures etc. They were always responsive and very professional when we had questions and unsure about certain things. Their renovation crew treated our home as if it were their own, always on time, being very careful in whatever job they were performing that day. They promised the finished renovation on a certain date and delivered ahead of time, providing quality and craftsmanship that went beyond my expectations. I cannot say enough about how great my experience was with James and Alice. They are amazing professionals and I love every bit of my renovation which was extensive. They kept me updated throughout the process and respond to questions immediately. And they completed the project weeks ahead of scheduled! I have now recommended them to family members and friends.

The work done by Hestia was EXCEPTIONAL from start to finish! It started with a detailed design process where our ideas were listened to, and their experience helped create a bathroom design which was well beyond our expectations... During the construction phase, the lines of communication were wide open and every single time a commitment was made; that commitment was met... (It was a great experience!) When it came time to wrap up; not one item was left outstanding... the work which was done was exceptionally good; the planning, the execution and the support was all top tier. We started with an en-suite bathroom, and there is no doubt that we trust the Hestia team to tackle the upcoming reno's in the years ahead!

We began our reno journey with the Hestia team in August. What was initially supposed to be a kitchen and living room reno turned into an entire first floor renovation plus an ensuite shower reno. Our new kitchen was completed in August 2022. We were pleased that it was built on schedule and stuck to the original budget while maintaining a high quality of workmanship. Alice came up with a solution that matched our preferred style and current kitchen design trends. In addition, James was very helpful with the technical solution that would work the best in our case. During the construction phase, they always responded very quickly to our phone calls, messages or emails. We recommend them because of their professional approach, quality of the final product, and despite their busy schedule, they managed to have time to listen and to answer our questions. Overall we are very satisfied with the service provided.

We used Hestia Hearth Design for our kitchen renovation. James and Alice are a great and wonderful people with a great crew who are proficient, professional and courteous. James and Alice are always there to help you; for any questions you have about the quote, design advice and the whole process during the renovation. They stayed on budget as well. I also appreciate that they came to the house to take measurements before submitting their quote. I went through others who wanted to quote via email and pictures. I completed my first major home renovation (first floor and kitchen) with Hestia Hearth design in January / February 2022 and cannot recommend their services enough if you are looking to remodel your home! Hestia Hearth was one of a few companies I contacted for a quote and design, and the only company that came through with a unique re-design for my kitchen within my budget. Alice guided me through every step of the way from recommendations on colour choices for the cabinets and backsplash right through the renovation. Alice communicated regularly to ensure I understood what step of the process we were at and what was to happen in the following days. The crew were efficient and friendly while they were working, and the quality of the work done is fantastic. If any surprises came up during the demo and build, Alice was sure to let me know quickly and help me understand my options to ensure the design remained as planned. I hired them to remodel my master bathroom. Communicating with them was really easy and they were on time every day and worked really hard to get the job done.
