Just such a stunning spot, in the mediaeval town of Montelparo between the mountains and the sea. Owned and run by a lovely couple who do their utmost to make sure everything is as perfect as possible.

A wonderful hotel in the beautiful heart of Le Marche. Great facilities, comfortable rooms and excellent and staff. I highly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a memorable week-long art retreat at Hotel Leone in LeMarche. The hotel is located up on a hill with wonderful views of the mountains and valleys all around, perfect for painting, hiking or just relaxing by the pool. The cuisine was excellent and the staff (Liene and Linnard) under Madeline and Tim was so attentive and helpful. There are many beautiful excursions nearby -- the Sibillini National Park , the renaissance town of Ascoli Piceno and the Lago San Ruffino among others.

Madeline and Tim were the epitome of hosts! They and their staff were well in-tune to each individual guests and paid particular attention to every detail. The accommodations were outstanding! Magical design and decor. Comfort with no corners cut. The bedding, towels, and all amenities were all selected with client comfort in mind.

Hotel Leone is a wonderful place to stay to explore the Le Marche region. Every part of the hotel has wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. The food is exceptionally good, the rooms are very comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful. The commune Montelparo is a delight to wander around, very easy walking. I can't recommend the place highly enough.

The view, service, food and company was fantastic. Attended a writers retreat on my own and was warmly welcomed. Team very at tentative to needs. Highly recommended. The town is lovely with a very unusual bicycle museum. Madeline more than happy to organize local tours of interest. Really could not be more happy on much needed holiday.

Painting Holiday in Italy I’ve just returned from my week-long artist retreat in Le Marche Italy. This seemingly undiscovered region offered breathtaking vistas at every turn. The retreat was held at the Boutique Hotel Leone - a superb hotel set in the hilltop town of Montelparo. Everything was expertly organized by owners Madeline Jones and her husband Tim. Tim’s super culinary skills are a delight and offered full breakfast, lunch and 4 course dinners with wonderful choices for every appetite and dietary need. They and their staff work hard to provide a level of service that made us feel like friends and family. The rooms are beautifully furnished, with super comfortable beds, modern and charming at once. Madeline organized several painting excursions to surrounding hill-top villages, a tour of a local vineyard and organic farm and and an olive tasting. There was a great studio available for our use as well so that students could work on their paintings indoors. Travel art workshops offer an opportunity to explore new locations and meet fellow artists with similar passions. A change of scenery reveals new qualities of light and subject matter. I taught a diverse group of painters from all over the world. We came together to form life-long friendships and continue to encourage one another. Save the date for my next retreat in Le Marche - September 6-13, 2024!

Special people, special place: this beautiful hotel is an absolute treat. The food and the welcome are beyond criticism. Guests are looked after with the perfect combination of professionalism and warmth…and the food, well, it’s wonderful. Studio and facilities for painting course are also excellent.

The most amazing place to stay. Quaint and beautifully restored to 5 star standard with fine dining. You will leave there feeling like you’ve stayed with great friends because the owners are both professional and so friendly.

I led a watercolor workshop at Hotel Leone for the first time this October. What an absolutely stunning setting for a workshop! The owners and hosts, Madeline and Tim, along with their stellar staff could not have been more welcoming, generous and well, perfecto! The delightful breakfasts, lunches and 4-course dinners were such a treat! Thank you for a truly wonderful experience!

Bellissima in tutti sensi. Vi trovate in un paesino tranquillo, pulito, e vi porta nel passato. Le vedute sono "Breath taking" L'hotel e stata rifatta. Camere e bagni spaziosi. I matterassi cosi buono. Ho dormito cosi bene. Ce una miscella tra Stilo Inglese e Italiano. Impeccabile puliti. Nei bagni ce ampio creme di corpo, sapone, lo sciampu, ciabatte, anche capatoio. Lo chef, il mangiare, servizio, 6 stelle. Non vedo lora quando posso tornare

What a fabulous hotel! We had a lovely 4 night stay in September 2022. If we are ever in this region of Italy again we will be back at this gem. Great service and food by Madeline, Tim and their wonderful staff. Lovely views too!

Come ristorante ok

Nice rooms in nice hotel, but englishman (owner i think) in the kitchen… terrible. Spent some weeks in Italy with delicious Italian food. Half board was in promotion, what a joke. After 1 dinner, we quit further dinners. Also poor breakfast. ‘No sphere at all.

We stayed at Hotel Leone for the second year in a row and we will be back next year! The reason is Madeline and Tim, owners of Horel Leone and their employees. So nice, funny and service minded. They have renovated their hotel in a very nice way and they run their hotel in the absolute best way. We recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to live in the best way, eat well and be treated in a friendly and professional manner. Thanks for this year - see you next year. The Leone is a hotel that deserves a stay in its own right. Fabulous location with a lovely view over the tranquil hills of Le Marche. Perfect for relaxing by the pool, or walking locally or towards the Sibillini. Friendly staff, with the ever useful help of Madeline at hand. Highly recommended.
