Dr. Lakin is a very gifted surgeon and a true artist. His attention to detail and his Genius mind are by far something they exceeded my expectations. The best in Michigan! After losing 200lb, I spent years searching across the state for a surgeon I was comfortable with for my excess skin removal but none of them felt right. Other doctors made me feel like a price tag, giving me unrealistic expectations and attempts to upsell me with unnecessary procedures making me feel even more self conscious.
I was so relieved to find Dr.Lakin and see that he has experience working on bodies that look just like mine! His work exceeded my expectations, he listened to my concerns, was honest about my bodies limitations to assure the best results, and after my first consultation I just knew I was making the right choice.
I'm still in awe about my new body, when I get compliments I make the joke "Body by Dr.Lakin" because this is a signature designer body! My incisions are clean and even, my figure is phenomenal, and everything is smooth.

I would have to say that Dr. Lakin is like a rare gem of a plastic surgeon.
Not only is he highly skilled and experienced in multiple areas of cosmetic surgery, but he is also a genuinely honest doctor. From my personal experience, doctors like him are hard to come by.
I have been to many consultations all over the state, and even out of the country as I also live in Portugal. I have had three prior breast augmentation/reconstruction procedures done by previous "reputable" surgeons, and I was not happy with any of them. I was referred to Dr. Lakin by a friend who had previously suffered from breast cancer. She told me that I needed an artist to fix me after the previous surgeons, and that's exactly what he is!
In my consultation with Dr. Lakin, he spent over an hour with me, patiently answering all of my extensive questions. He went over different techniques he could use and took the time to measure out different implant sizes and profiles that would help me best achieve my goals.
What I truly admired about him was his honesty about what he wouldn't do. Among all the doctors I've been to, he was the one who really listened to what I wanted the most and was upfront about what he could realistically achieve. And he delivered exactly what he promised.
I am only 1 week post-op, and I am already in love with my results. I know they will just get even better over the next several months. Finally!

I had a breast augmentation and a Benelli lift with Dr. Lakin in August and I could not be happier with my decision and my results. He is an incredible surgeon and very realistic about what your desired result will require. He worked with me to decide what I wanted because I wasn’t entirely sure and the result is a very natural look and perfect proportions. I really feel like my entire body looks more balanced. The entire staff at Illuum is wonderful and Emily was fantastic. She made me feel so comfortable before surgery and made sure I knew I could call them with any little concern while I recovered. Where do I even start?! I've seen many doctors but I have not come across anyone like Dr. Lakin. I recently had a couple of procedures with Dr. Lakin and from the first day I went to his office , I knew I didnt need to go anywhere else. Dr. Lakin is Da Vinci of this Generation! He is amazing, an artist and a perfectionist! He is soo kind, patient and honest! Ive been wanting to have this make-over done for a very long time after losing so much weight and have a baby and I couldnt have asked for anything better ! I had a mini tummy tuck and breast implant replacement and breast lift. He did a great job on the tummy tuck, however I am very disappointed with the breast. The implants are called gummy and they are very mushy and fall to the sides when laying down. The surgical incision should be under my breasts but isn’t. It seems like the implants have fallen and now the incision is now on the lower part of my breasts. I do wish I had been asked prior to surgery if I wanted them to look like I’ve had three kids or not.
