Very happy with our tour :)
Hugh was an absolutely amazing guide for the highland and Speyside whiskey tour! He was so kind and was full of the most entertaining stories! Also a few members of my group really wanted to see the coos, and he ensured that we did! If you need a tour, Hugh is the best!

Thanks, Liana! We could not agree more, Hugh is a legend!! So glad you had a fantastic time with Hugh on the highland and Speyside whiskey tour. It sounds like he added so much to your experience, especially with those "coos"! Hope to see you on another adventure soon!

Fantastic Highlands tours with Jenni
We are so glad we found Inverness tours. Jenni was an entertaining guide with an extensive knowledge base of Scottish history and the local sites we visited. We spent 1.5 days with Jenni, visiting historical sites around Inverness - Fort George, Clava Cairns and the Culloden battlefield - along with a full day exploring the Highlands out to Isle of Skye. With many stops along our route, we learned much about the area from Jenni, both current day information along with the history. We were awed by the beauty of the Highlands. Jenni had a wealth of knowledge, a good sense of humor and did a great job of keeping us on schedule while adjusting our route to show us local points of interest. We would not hesitate to use Inverness tours again if we get back to Scotland. Laura and Ian the owners, also provided us a contact for a driver for a half day trip out of Edinburgh, which was quite helpful.

Clan Seton, Trip of a Lifetime
This was my second tour with Scott Guthrie, the first a customized Outlander and scenic tour last summer. In total we've spent ten days and put about 2000 miles in his car on both tours and I've enjoyed every single minute. This was a customized tour to explore Clan Seton lands, castles, and kirks as well as a couple of other historic castles, the Cairngorms, and picturesque seaside villages. I'll aim this review at the solo traveler who wants to visit Scotland, but doesn't have a travel companion. Don't stay home. Scott will take superb care of you. He is attentive to personal needs, and an utterly easy and comfortable travel companion to be with, a good conversationalist, funny, knowledgeable about Scottish history and folklore and an excellent, safe driver. While I had done extensive research about the family, Scott had obviously spent time doing his own research about the family and told me things I didn't know. While private touring is more expensive, you also cover more territory (no waiting for 40 people to load and unload at each stop), see more, go places the tour buses can't on scenic single lane back roads, and have flexibility to make adjustments in the schedule. The Scottish people are the most gracious and charming that you will find anywhere. After traveling with Scott, the idea of ever doing another tour bus has no appeal and think I am forever spoiled by this mode of travel. Fortunately, I'm old enough that the number of years that I can still take the trip over the pond are probably somewhat limited and there is still more of the country to see----I've yet to see the heather in full bloom. Words can not fully express my gratitude for making me feel like I was at home traveling with a friend. Thanks, Scott.

Thank you, Carol, for sharing your experience with us. We aim to make everyones visit to Scotland memorable, so they can enjoy taking their time exploring our rich history and beautiful landscapes. Your insights are invaluable for future solo travelers. We hope to welcome you back to see the heather in bloom!

Fantastic Adventure with Dave Fyfe of Inverness Day Tours
My wife and I recently completed a 10-day bespoke tour of Scotland with Dave Fyfe of Inverness Tours (https://invernesstours.com/) that was fantastic. Together, we put together a travel plan that took us to places we had never seen before, even though we had previously visited Scotland four times. Our customized itinerary was developed thru a series of WhatsAp discussions and emails with Dave in the weeks leading up to our arrival in Glasgow. Dave picked us up from our hotel in Glasgow and we set out on a spectacular adventure. He took us in his very comfortable van to see the sites we’d ask to see in and along the way to include the Falkirk Wheel and Kelpies in Falkirk, the Aberdour Castle and its gardens in Aberdour, the Outlander filming locations in Falkland, the ruins in St. Andrews, the polar sailing ship RRS Discovery and the V&A design museum in Dundee, Glamis Castle located north of Angus, which was the childhood home of Elizabeth the Queen Mother and birthplace of Princess Margaret, Dunnottar Castle in Stonehaven, the Scottish Lighthouse Museum in Fraserburgh, the ruins and gardens in Elgin, Nair, Culloden battlefield, Glenn Coe, Glenn Etive, Kinlochleven, Lochawe, Inveraray Castle in Inverary, charter fishing trip in Oban, the Kilmartin Museum which is the custodian of the artefacts that come from Kilmartin Glen, one of Scotland’s richest prehistoric landscapes that provides a fascinating insight into the lives of the people inhabiting the area over the last 12,000 years, the historic Brodick Castle and its gardens on the Isle of Arran, the Robie Burns Museum in Ayrshire, and numerous historic sites and museums in Glasgow. It was a truly epic adventure and frankly, it would not have been possible without Dave’s guidance and advice before the trip as the itinerary was developed, and his flexibility and adjustments that he made during the trip when we decided on-the-fly to stay in Oban an additional night.Dave contributed so much as our planner, driver, guide, and even concierge for meal planning and reservations, a ad hoc photographer when needed, and an invaluable porter, and most importantly, a very knowledgeable historian, as well as comedian and friend. My wife and I are very appreciative for all his aid and assistance before and during the trip. We could not have done it without Dave and certainly would not have survived driving or totting all our stuff ourselves. We saw and learned so much during our trip. What we enjoyed the most were the people we met, the meals we ate and our discussions about Scotland that we shared together with Dave.Below are pictures of a few of the sites we visited.
Sounds like you and your wife had an incredible adventure exploring Scotland with Dave! We're thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed the personalized itinerary and that Dave made your journey memorable. Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience and those amazing spots you visited! Safe travels on your future adventures!

Amazing tour of the Highlands!
We had a custom tour of the Highlands with Irene and it was incredible! Irene was personable, knowledgable, and accommodating of our requests. She even scouted out multiple Starbucks locations for my teen daughter - and suitable back-up coffee shop options when Starbucks was not available. Irene spent 4 days with us, and by the end it felt like she was a long lost family member. We visited many attractions across those days including Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Clava Cairns, Cawdor Castle, Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness, Dunstaffnage Castle, and Glencoe. Irene shared so much about the history and culture of Scotland, that went beyond what we learned from the museum tours. She was able to suggest alternative activities when plans changed due to circumstances beyond her control, and she even knew which gift shops along the drive would have the specific type of souvenirs my children were looking for. I would give this experience 10 stars if that was an option, and would 100% book another tour with Inverness Tours when I return to Scotland.

Lifetime wish fulfilled.
Our tour was amazing. I wanted to learn more about the clan of my family and this was the highlight of my trip to Scotland. Our guide, Christina, was so informative and knowledgeable. She had researched my request. There were just the 4 of us, me and my husband and my son and his spouse. Christina took us where we could learn about our ancestors and was very versed on the Scottish history. My son was blown away. He thanked me for arranging the tour. I would highly recommend Inverness Tours. Very professional and a wonderful group to work with. Laura arranged everything and was excellent to work with. I hope to go back again.

Amazing tours in Scotland
We were in Scotland for a week and Inverness Tours were our guides. Other than a couple minor hiccups outside of their control, they were amazing. Laura, Irene and Alison were all personable, intelligent and accommodating. We never felt like we were not important and we had a great time not only asking questions about Scotland but also other topics. Nothing was out of scope. The Ford Transit vans were comfortable and spacious. I’m 6’1” and was able to stretch out. It touched us so much when it started to rain one day (we were there for 8 days and the weather was incredibly beautiful otherwise), Irene without missing a beat, told us that the rain is because Scotland was crying that we would be leaving the next day. How profound! Everyone was so willing to go anywhere we pleased and were so helpful. Every trip was fun and we ended the day exhausted in a good way. We learned so much about Scotland from all of them. When we got home in Canada, we agreed if we returned, Inverness would be our tour operator for our trip. Thank you so much for a memorable time! It was our first time in Scotland and you all made us feel so welcome!

The best of the Highlands and Orkney with Dave Fyfe
Dave Fyfe picked us up at our hotel in Inverness and took us for a three-day tour in the Orkney Islands. To say that Dave is an excellent guide is an understatement. He knows Scottish history as well as any university professor could. He lives it every day by researching and sharing it. He is passionate and engaging. And while he had an eager audience in my husband and me, he inspired yet a deeper curiosity about the places and people he introduced. He recommended books and music - and whisky, and we have followed up with all his recommendations. Dave has a winning personality and is helpful and courteous. I really cannot sing his praises enough. He created a most memorable experience for us. When we are back in Scotland, we will ask for Dave in a heartbeat. I highly recommend Inverness Tours and Dave Fyfe.
Thank you, Luv2Travel! Dave is truly passionate about sharing Scottish history. We’ll be sure to pass on your kind words to him. Looking forward to your next adventure with us!

The Right Guide for your personalized tour of Scotland
Our tour with Paul was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable and able to give us insight on so many issues and history of Scotland. He tailored our tour based on our interests. He even added on a stop at the David Sterling statue because he learned of Joe’s history as a military aviator. He made arrangements for our stay at Ft. William though we ended up cancelling the next day he even aided us with that. Best tour guide for Edinburgh and any other interests you may have in Scotland. Highly recommend him and Inverness Tours.
Thanks so much, Cyndy! Thank you for taking the time to write. It's great that Paul could tailor the tour and make special arrangements just for you. Your recommendation means a lot to us!

Personalized Inverness Day Tour
Our guide, Ali, knows all the hidden treasures and, seemingly, everyone! We asked her to share her favorite spots around Inverness with us and had the loveliest day away from other tour groups, even at Cawdor Castle. We enjoyed lunch by the beach, meanders through villages, and a walk through a glen. We cannot recommend a day with Ali enough!
Hi Paige,
Thanks so much for the lovely review! It sounds like you had an amazing time discovering those hidden gems. We appreciate your recommendation!

Clan Rose Tour with Inverness Tours
We did the Clan Rose tour with invernesstours.com. Dave Fyfe was our guide, and was fantastic. Without rushing us, and giving us plenty of time to wander on our own when we wanted, he filled our day not only with the actual locations where Clan Rose has lived, but also stories about the clan and Scotland in general. He's a great storyteller but we never felt overwhelmed by his talking, as you can with some tour guides. And he loved answering our many questions. It was a very unique and memorable tour, and we'd highly recommend it (and already have to all our extended family).
Thank you, Dan! It’s wonderful to know you found the experience memorable and informative. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again on another adventure!

Truly custom tour!
We just finished an incredible 7 day tour with Ian Deveney. He expertly balanced the needs and requests of our group which ranged in age from 7 to 65. We wanted a mixture of Scottish history, our own family history learning about various clans, hiking and , sightseeing including fun things for the kids like Harry Potter sights. Ian masterfully guided us through Culloden battlefield, a few days sightseeing and hiking around Skye, boat to Loch Coruisk, Ft William, Glenco, Oban, Kilmarten Glen, and a visit to local Highland Games in Fife. We covered a lot of ground in the Highlands stopping for beautiful vistas, castles, coastlines etc and were so happy to let Ian do the driving. Ian is an expert story teller and held our attention by teaching us history and folklore along the way. We appreciated his kindness and patience with each member of our group. He was willing to make special accommodations like extra stops at the market as we were cooking most of our own meals rather than eating out. Our tour was truly custom to our needs. Highly recommend Ian of Inverness Custom Tours!

Everything about and around Inverness!
We had a private tour with Allison to Culloden, Cawdor, Clava Cairns, Inverness, Loch, Dora, Ft. George and more, etc…. she just kept taking us to more places and feeding us info on everything about the area and what makes it special. We ended up going to a remote cemetary and getting a tour of a small crypt related to the deep history of the Highlands. She is a local and is extremely personable and fun to spend the day with. She did a fabulous job holding our interest high all day. I couldn’t have asked for more from a great tour company and guide!
Thank you, Stephen! Allison is a new addition to our team and I am glad you saw what we see in her.. Your kind words mean a lot to us and we'll be sure to pass along your praise to Alison. Keep in touch and follow us on our facebook page.

Wonderful day chasing the sun with Ali!
Our tour began in Ullapool on a very rainy, windy day, but Ali met us with a smile and suggested we chase the sun. Our day included an amazing waterfall, a beautiful beach, fabulous views, lovely gardens, hairy coos, and a fun lunch in a quaint pub. Ali told stories of Scotland and a few about herself, always fun with a guide! I really cannot recommend Inverness Tours and our guide, Ali, highly enough. We saw the sun and so much more!

Loved our Scotland tour with Dave!
We highly recommend Inverness Tours and their outstanding tour guide, Dave Fyfe. During a 10-month planning period, owner Laura and her team guided us with suggestions and options to see the best of Scotland. Their prompt responses, helpful information and itinerary creation made planning easy and worry free. Adjustments were easy to make and anticipation grew as we communicated with our guide, Dave.
We knew from meeting Dave on the first day that it was going to be a fun-filled, informative tour. We had a wonderful time being shown the beauty of Scotland, learning of her history, hearing traditional Scottish music, seeing and hearing about Outlander filming, enjoying tasty Scottish meals and whisky … and most of all listening to Dave’s storytelling. He is engaging, knowledgeable, professional and most of all fun! We have the highest regard for all his talents. Memories of Scotland will always bring smiles to our faces!

Amazing Private Clan MacKenzie Tour
Thanks to the comprehensive website and helpful staff, I booked a tour for myself and my husband of the MacKenzie clan lands online. We spent the day in the delightful care of guide and storyteller, Sandy Dear. It is impossible to imagine a better experience. In advance of our trip Sandy found by coincidence that Castle Leod was to be open to the public on our scheduled tour date. We were quite excited to be offered that opportunity when he contacted us to see if we would like to work that extra stop into our itinerary. Sandy picked us up at our Airbnb precisely on time and chauffeured us along Loch Ness, to Eilean Donan Castle, the Gairloch Museum, Loch Maree and Castle Leod, all the while taking care to squeeze in rest stops and photo ops along the way. Somehow, without rushing us, we were still allowed the opportunity to see so much more than we had expected. Sandy was informed and thorough, not only with stories mapped to the tour, but also in answers to our every question. It was obvious, along the way, that Sandy was also exploring and taking notes for future tours, too. The photos and memories we brought back from this day far exceeded any day we could have planned for ourselves. We give the tour our highest recommendation!!!

A truly amazing experience!
We just finished our four day tour of Inverness, Loch Ness, Isle of Skye and many other spots with Jenni and I just wanted to let you know that it was a tremendous experience and will always be a significant part of the memories we take away from our holiday here. We are in the UK in total for three weeks, starting and ending in London, with stops in Edinburgh, Inverness, Portree, Fort William and Glasgow. While we have not completed that journey as I write this, Jenni and the time she spent with us has been a true highlight. She spent time in advance researching what we might like, and each evening as we were sleeping she was thinking about how to make our time the next day even better than the one we had previously.
We were able to see some tourist sites that many others see, such as Urquhart, Dunvegan, Cawdor, Eilean Donan and Dunrobin Castles, Man of Storr, etc., yet perhaps what we will remember the most are those off the beaten path places she showed us. We were talking as a family at dinner tonight about what we enjoyed most over the past few days and it was checking out a dairy where we could make milkshakes, going to a "wee" bakery in the middle of nowhere with fantasy-like buildings, seeing Highland cows and Shetland ponies, visiting a dinosaur museum with relics from years ago, and getting fresh, delicious cheese from vending machines, hot chocolate from the best little village we've never heard of and so much more.
We heard stories, lore and a ton of facts about Scotland and its history as we passed through it and feel as if we know more about your history than we do of our own country.
Jenni made our kid feel as if they were a part of the tour as well. As someone who is pretty shy, it can be hard to get them to engage fully, but the two of them hit it off pretty quickly and by the end were fast friends.
All of that to say that you have a true gem in Jenni. We felt like royalty, like we were the only thing on her mind and she was working to do her best to make our trip the best it could possibly be. It was a huge deal for me, as I am almost always the driver on our vacations, and I was able to just be a part of everything without any worry. We feel so fortunate to have found your company and it just must have been meant to be you paired us up with Jenni. She was a true delight and we will always remember the four days we had touring around Scotland with her. Again, thank you so much for such a wonderful experience :).

Having a private tour was an amazing experience.
The private tour with Scott Guthrie absolutely amazing. We were delighted by his knowledge of the the places and history where we visited, as well as the wonderful folk tales he told. He advised us on some extra places to go once he knew what we appreciated. The Orkney Islands ruins were stunning. And the Bird of Pray demo was a favorite. We ended with a special hike that was added for our pleasure. We loved it all.

Wonderful full day excursion for our Spring cruise.
Many thanks to Scott Guthrie for a wonderful full day tour of Outlander sites, castles, Lochs, villages, Highland cows, and more. He was the best! When we found out that South Queensferry, Scotland would be one of our ports for our Spring cruise, we contacted Inverness Tours to see if a one day excursion would be possible. We were so lucky to get Scott as our guide. He met us at the port when our tender arrived, and over the next 8 hours he gave us such a wonderful view of the surrounding area. It's amazing how many things we got to see and do on that tour, with Scott's very informative guidance. I know that Scott also does multi day tours across Scotland and we hope to get back sometime soon and will surely book again to enjoy even more of Scotland.
