Great paint job and fantastic crew.

JMJ exceeded our expectations. They painted the first floor interior and their work was perfect. The crew did excellent work, and were friendly and responsive to all of our needs and questions. The sales and admin staff were very professional and helpful. JMJ has my highest recommendation.

Our house was built in 1965 and JMJ painted the exterior. 3 men scraped our cedar siding for 5 days to remove loose paint. Our house was primed and meticulously painted for the next 7 days. Our house looks brand new and I could not have imagined a more wonderful job at such a reasonable price. The painters worked as hard as if they were painting their own house.

UPDATE: I was put in touch with Jacob through Darcy and he was amazing. He listened, empathized, and apologized. They ended up sending Christine out to fix the wall prep errors and it looks so much better now. She was fantastic and a pleasure to have in my home. I am sure that my initial experience was a one-off and not the way JMJ does business. They rectified the mistakes and definitely deserve more than my original 1 star review. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wanted all walls of my one bedroom condo painted the exact same off white. Simple request. And for the bare minimum requirement of getting the paint onto the walls, great job. Smooth application, good coverage. Everything else went sideways. Even though I mentioned punctuality being important to me to the sales guy during the estimate, they were late both days. Finishing touches were ignored. The choice in which outlet plates they decided to take off vs just paint into the wall makes my head hurt and now I've got a lot of touchups to do. They covered the wood floors but laid nothing down over the carpet. I've got paint overspray on every surface which I am still cleaning up. They removed the tape but didn't go back to clean up edges that weren't straight so even more touchups i've got to do. But the most egregious error was they left my unit unlocked overnight with EVERY light left on (including the oven light for some reason), the thermostat had gotten knocked to over 90 degrees so it was boiling, and the tub faucet was running. Not full bore, but a very steady stream. FOR OVER 12 HOURS. Thank god I went over at 9 am to check on the place because they didn't show up until after 1130 that morning. As an apology, they waived the $350 that was being added for skimcoating that needed to be done in the bathroom. After everything was done, the sales guy decided to stop by and brought the most confusing and frankly condescending apology gift, a bag of chocolate and a beanie baby keychain. Overall a really terrible experience and I wish I had just done the painting myself. Would have been cheaper and would have been done with far more care. Lesson learned.

Would highly recommend JMJ's services to anyone in need of some help with serious paint jobs / ceiling repair. We have never seen workers so efficient work so hard to get a very large job done so quickly.

Ignored the “no soliciting” sign on my door. I’ll never do business with someone who won’t respect my wishes and still tries door to door sales tactics.

I was walking my dog along St Albans in Saint Paul today, September 3, 2024. As we were crossing Portland, a JMJ truck was coming fast and, despite me rushing my dog across the street, he still almost hit my dog. This guy was speeding in a company vehicle down a residential road and BARELY came to a complete stop at the stop sign. In fact, he went past the stop sign a little bit because he hit the brakes so late. I couldn't tell if this guy was on his phone or just didn't know how to pay attention, but if this is the lack of awareness when they drive, I refuse to believe they have any sort of attention to detail when painting. My house needs a coat of paint, but I will be taking my money elsewhere due to this avoidable incident.

The project manager and crew from JMJ surpassed all our expectations with their professionalism, advice about types of stains for our house, and attention to detail. The stain was sprayed and rolled on creating a very durable finish. The crew was highly efficient and very polite. Our house looks amazing and the job was finished in less than a week. Thank you JMJ.

JMJ Painters is a very professional business who took great care of us to get the exterior of our house painted at a good price. The house needed extra repairs and they helped us get everything fixed and pick a great new color. We are very happy and would go with them again. David K. was in charge of the project and did a great job.

Excellent work and workmanship

Fabulous experience with JMJ from the beginning until the end! We had our lower level popcorn ceilings removed and walls painted. They tended to lots of necessary ceiling and wall repairs to make sure the job was done right and well. Their color consultation service was exactly what we needed to help us with colors for ceilings and walls. Everyone who came into our home was very professional, friendly, diligently worked, and handled our home and belongings with care. We are beyond pleased with the end results! Our lower level looks amazing!! We highly recommend JMJ and we will use them again for sure!
