I'm a soon to be mom, and thoughts of labor and delivery have always terrified me. I researched and found info on Hypnobirthing and was drawn to the practice because I've never been big on Western medical practices. Attending Crystal's classes has grown my confidence and changed my mindset about meeting my baby 180⁰. She has unique experience as a maternity nurse in a hospital setting and is very passionate in empowering women to trust our bodies to facilitate labor without unmedically necessary interventions while holding the ability to best prepare you for procedure and policies in the hospital, if you choose to go that route. I thoroughly enjoy her holistic teaching methods and personal investment in each couple's plans for birthing. In the 5-class series, you'll learn breathing techniques, meditative practices, how to create birth plans, the physiological stages of labor, how to advocate for yourself in the delivery room, how to be a supportive birth partner, labor and birthing positions, how to choose the right healthcare provider for you and engage in role play activities. I promise it is worth practicing and prepping daily, and you will feel a change from within as the anxiety fades away. She's also great at providing resources for any specific questions or concerns you may have related to your pregnancy. I highly recommend Jonah's Birth for anyone interested in overcoming their fear of childbirth and/or planning a natural birth.

I found Crystal after searching for hypnobirthing classes in my area and let me tell you, I am beyond grateful that I came across her page. I am pregnant with my first and needed direction on all things birthing related. Not only did I learn key tools to keep me calm throughout my pregnancy/labor but Crystal also made sure that no matter what my journey looked like, I felt at peace and confident in my decisions. Hypnobirthing has truly transformed my perspective on childbirth. Crystal-Ann, our exceptional instructor and experienced high-risk labor and delivery nurse, exudes passion in her teaching. Her profound knowledge has alleviated my anxieties. I’m extremely excited to utilize the tools from this course during my birth.

If you don’t want to read my long review then just know I highly RECOMMEND CRYSTAL and hypnobirth . For those who want to read it , here it goes: This course was recommended to me by one of the amazing nurses I work with in the NICU. It really helped her and she felt strongly that it would help me. She was so right! In these lessons of hypnobirth I learned so much, specially about my body, my fears, and my strengths. I learned about the power within us as women. And This was all thanks to Crystal! Although I’m sure other hypnobirth courses are amazing, what truly made this one very special was Crystal. She is not only knowledgeable and passionate about this work, but she is VERY KIND, PATIENT AND NURTURING. Something that we all need during such a vulnerable and special time as it is pregnancy. As a Psychologist I had learned about many traumatic births from my patients and I was not an “easy client” for Crystal. I brought many difficult scenarios and questions for her and she always found a way of reassuring me with both empirical data and most importantly with love and compassion. Crystal made sure I understood that I was strong and that my mind and body could do this (labor) in a way that was beautiful, meaningful and with little pain and stress. It was because of her teachings that despite developing preeclampsia and having to end up with an emegercy c-section, I was able to remain as calm as possible. This course will prepare you so that regardless of the turns that your birth might take you still feel empowered about your body and the experience. I highly recommend these courses with Crystal because she will give you the tools you need to be ready for a special birthing experience in which you welcome your precious baby without fear and with lots of love. She will walk you through every process and she will be a great support system in this journey. I am beyond thankful for her and I know that if you take this course you will too.

I recently took the Hypnobirthing course. Let me tell you.... every pregnant woman should take this course!!!! I honestly didn't know what to expect from the classes. (All I knew was that labor was painful, and that's what I have dreaded.. always heard horror stories). After taking this course, I have gained SO much knowledge, I feel so much more prepared and have a better idea of what to expect (especially as a first-time mother). I learned techniques on how to manage the labor process (correct breathing techniques, etc). Birthing doesn't have to be the nightmare that most of us hear of. America does things very different compared to other countries (you will learn more about this in the course). The book that is provided with the course is also very resourceful. Crystal is an excellent instructor and is a very knowledgeable nurse. 100% recommend this course even if you are a medical professional... this is also for YOU! (Most of the people in our course were in the medical field (doctor/therapist/nurse), and this was very insightful. It's not something taught in med school. Do not hesitate!

We are extremely happy that we took Hypnobirthing class with Crystal. We have learned so much, bonded as a couple and have many tools available to have a peaceful pregnancy and delivery. We have been practicing all that we learned in class and feel empowered and excited for the day our baby comes. Childbirth classes are a must!

Although I ended up having a c-section, the education I received from Jonah's Birth about Hypnobirthing was a game changer for me when it came to communicating in confidence with my providers all the way up to delivery. Crystal has a heart to make sure you are empowered and know our rights as mothers against the westernized medical community. Sometimes it was a battle with my doctors but I always had thr teachings and Crystal as my support. The class is amazing and NECESSARY if you are pregnant NO MATTER WHAT YOUR BIRTH PLAN IS!!!

I am beyond thrilled to share about my experience with delivering my baby via the Hypno-birthing method on Sept. 17, 2023. I learned under the instruction of Crystal at Jonah's Birth. I learned about this pain management option during the late phase of my pregnancy and was blessed enough to connect with Crystal just in time to learn exactly what I needed for a successful delivery. The class was 5 weeks long but Crystal was graceful enough to speed up the process to accommodate my and my classmate's needs. The class was offered virtually but honestly it couldn't have felt more personable. Crystal's passion for hypno-birthing is definitely apparent and her culture sensitivity is also very very helpful. I was able to execute my birth plan from beginning to end with the instructions that I received. When I tell you even my top-notch delivery team, including my phenomenal OB-GYN Dr. Dudley Brown, MD were all impressed by my poised demeanor during delivery; I owe it all to the exceptional instructor Crystal at Jonah's Birth. Every single instruction I received was imperative and she missed NOTHING. My partner also sends his kudos as he was able to witness the learning aspect as well as the delivery process and agrees that because all was well planned out it was successfully executed. The hypnobirthing class with Crystal was a truly amazing experience! She provided my husband and I with so much necessary information. We felt extremely prepared when it was time for the birth of our son. I had always been afraid of labor and Crystal helped change my mindset. She was also always available if I had specific questions outside of class. I could reach out to her and she would respond right away. I also loved the that classes were small which created an intimate environment. I highly recommend this class for anyone preparing for labor!

It was a pleasure taking the hypnobirthing class with Crystal. Going into the class, and this being my first pregnancy, I did not know what to expect. Admitly, I had been nervous about the whole birthing process, but Crystal has changed my perspective. While teaching my husband and I the techniques, she also educated us on the birthing process and current medical research which has helped to ease my concerns tremendously. Crystal was so informative and flexible. We took a Hypnobirthing class with her, it was 5 weeks long and I wish it was longer lol. All the information provided will be put to use at the time of birth , I do recommend doing this course because apart from the breathing techniques she touches on things about birth that I never thought about. It’s NOT suppose to be scary and despite the horror stories we all hear as women, there is a beautiful and peaceful side to birthing. Thanks Crystal

Crystal was a great instructor! She is very knowledgeable of the various birthing experiences being both a mother and a nurse. Although my class was virtual, I still feel that it was just as effective as in-person classes. I always felt comfortable asking questions as a new mom. Going into the class, I was afraid that childbirth was going to leave me traumatized. After the 5 class sessions, I learned that I can enter my birthing experience with relaxation & breathing techniques that’ll create a more calm and peaceful mindset for myself. My partner also is more confident in his role at the hospital. The class layout (5, 2.5 hour sessions) sounds daunting at first glance. But honestly, you breeze right through it. The class covers the Hypnobirthing book & workbook, various birthing videos, learning & practicing relaxation techniques, visualizations and Q&A. I would highly recommend Jonah’s Birth for any families wishing to learn and experience their own positive birthing experience!!

Crystal-Ann was a very effective instructor, always prepared. She answered all our questions patiently and I know she'll continue to be there for us leading up to birth and beyond.
