Kathmandu Restaurant I & II Reviews

There are few things better in life than a day in the mountains followed by dinner with friends at Kathmandu in Nederland. It's the coziest place in town. My wife have been eating here since they opened in 1999, and it's as good, or even better than ever. Same owners, same fantastic employees, it really is a family business that epitomizes Nederland. Recommended dishes are the momos, Tandoori Chicken Curry, Daal Soup, Tika Masala, Vindaloo, Papadam, Samosas, Cheese Naan and of course a piping hot cup of Chai. When it's all said and done, probably my favorite restaurant in the world.

Edited to add, I left this review ages ago, came back today and STILL amazing, great buffet and fantastic chai Absolutely amazing chai, always excellent food regardless of what I choose

We found this place on our way to Silver Thorne after our hike to Emerald Lake. The food was truly satisfying (felt like home).

I like it I think they do a good job with the food and so on nice staff.

We love their food, especially the buffet. So many great options, including extensive vegetarian/vegan offerings.

Perfect comfort food for a cold day.

The best samosas I've had in my life, and I've eaten Indian food in most of the 43 states I've been to. The rest of what we tried from the dinner buffet was amazing, but I'll be thinking about those samosas for the next several decades.

Worst momo of my life, not cooked, fillings were bleh, achar was whatever too.

Worst biryani i have ever tried. Food was very disappointing. Veggies in the biryani are not cooked properly. My friend ordered Chicken momos are so uncooked he took out all the outer layer and ate only chicken.

Worst momo I ever had in my life. It was definitely frozen for several months and was quickly microwaved and steamed. I think it is ok to say we don’t have momo today instead of serving such a bad food. I won’t go there again and absolutely won’t recommend this place.

Wonderful restaurant run by wonderful people. It was very clear and easy to see what options were vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free, and there was a wide selection for all of the above!
