Location is All
We arrived at our destination by following signposts as opposed to our sat nav which would have had us 10 miles in a different direction! Check in fine although a bit puzzling (and I saw others pondering the same dilemma.) We were given a plot reference but told to just pull up anywhere! I saw others couples frantically searching for non existent plot numbers. That said the rest was great. Our plot overlooked the sea and we had the weather to enable us to walk both directions (to be noted, going to the left takes you onto a military firing range. But when we were there there was no activity.) The location is the selling point. It is beautiful. One drawback which worked to our advantage was the catering on site. They have a bar and advertise food. Unfortunately being Sept they only serve Thurs- Sun. We planned on eating out so were disappointed. Not for long! The lady in reception. said a 10 min walk along the beach and you are in Sandhead. There you will find Tigh na Mara. You can see my review on their review page. Suffice to say we lucked out there. Beautiful food…we ate there next night too. Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful location.

Good site
So this was our first camping holiday in Scotland. The location of this site is perfect, right along side a long sandy beach but given moderate protection from dunes. On our arrival we were welcomed & full site details were communicated to us clearly & with cheer.
Our stay here was a family holiday in our tent with our pitch towards the back end of the site. As we drove through past the static caravans they were all very well looked after and the grounds are very well kept. When we arrived at our pitch which had EHU and water pipe stands close by, we noticed how spacious the pitches were with parking along side. The only downside was the camping area seemed to be a poor relation & afterthought/ addition to the static caravans. We had had to clear our pitch of stones & shells that had been collected & for some reason lots of litter blowing around. Some litter had been well trodden in and had obviously been there some time. This aside we cleared our pitch & the site was lovely & peaceful with the sounds of nature & of course children playing.
The play park was very well maintained with plenty to keep the children happy whilst we were preparing breakfast / dinner etc and felt very assured in letting our 8 year old to go off and explore with the friends she had made. The site has a great shower & toilet block that was very well maintained, covered washing up facilities & a launderette with well maintained machines.
The Lighthouse bar is a fresh modern place with well kept beers & lunches / dinner available although not open on Monday & Tuesday. Don't bank on the Wi-Fi apart from the Lighthouse, we could not get on it anywhere else on site.
Plenty to do nearby for a week & recommend a visit to the area.

"Immaculate Site"
What a find! Immaculate toilet / shower facilities, with plenty of space , and a hairdryer which is very rare! We stayed for just 2 nights in a tent which was just beautiful, just near the edge of the sands, which was a lovely walk with lots of beautiful shells and stones to find. The Lighthouse Restaurant on site was spot on, we had breakfast and an evening meal which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Jack the owner was most helpful with information on local bike rides (which we did participate in). Excellent value for money for just £15.00 per night!!! We shall be back, and will definitely recommend this site to friends and family. Thank you :) Helen and Jai

Beautiful site
An amazing site to visit we stayed with a motorhome. The piches were great size especially for larger Motorhomes. All facilities were immaculate.only one little setback for us was we had two small dogs not allowed in the clubhouse. Making the campsite perfect they should erect a large outside gazebo in the beer garden and we would definitely visit more frequently. Stunning g site so close to the beach with amazing views. WILL BE BACK SOON

Luce bay
First time, but would stay again. Clean tidy new toilets, showers were nice and Clean, push button only. Great beach to explore and find lots of amazing shells and stones etc. Nice walk to the village, small shop. Great open view of the sea ?. We will need to visit again in the summer to experience the sea to play and swim in. Looked good to kite surf.

Last minute get away
First time at this caravan park. Got a last minute deal on a 2 bed caravan. The caravan was absolutely spotless and very comfortable with plenty of storage for 2 adults and 2 teenagers and a dog. The site doesn't have much in it apart from a small shop in the reception which is only open at certain times. The park is very well kept and everyone was very friendly. There is a beach directly opposite the caravan park so its very popular with dog walkers. There was no wifi so perfect if your looking to get away from it all. We travelled to nearby places such as Port Patrick, Newton Stewart, Stranraer etc. The weather was gorgeous so that helped. All in all would recommend, lovely wee site.

A lovely return
Had a lovely welcome the accommodation was very clean and the park was very clean and family friendly lovely views across the bay quiet walks along the beach and around the area I sat for ages watching the boats and ships the wildlife and just grabbing the peace and quiet.
We had 2 teenagers with us we thought it may be too quiet for them but even they were under the spell of Glen Luce Bay There are lots of lovely walks around the area and ports to visit with historical places.
We loved this area and would definitely be back for more.

Weekend break
Second time to this fantastic place. Caravans are clean, modern and have everything you need. Staff are friendly and helpful. Views from caravans are amazing. 2 min walk and you are on the beach. Walk up the hill from the beach and the view is breathtaking, There is a small shop on site and the pub is a 5 min walk away.

Luce Bay
We stayed at the Luce Bay Lodge in the holiday park. The lodge had 2 bedrooms an ensuite and a bathroom. A spacious open plan dining lounge kitchen. It was very comfortable with gas central heating and a fully equipped kitchen. Bedding is supplied but not towels or toiletries. There is no hair dryer fortunately i had brought one. There are laundry facilities on site which i didn't use. There is a small shop which has very little in it. So come fully laden with food and drinks. The place is well kept and all staff are helpful. The local pub a few yards away serves food which we tried and was good value as well as tasty. Staff are friendly and willing to chat about the local area. Dogs are allowed in the bar area. The beach is long and rocky but fine for dog walking. There is no wifi and only vodaphone coverage for mobiles. Took a bit of getting used to! If it is a getaway you want then this is that. Tv coverage is from Northern Ireland.

A little piece of heaven
The park was easy to locate, we had a "wow" experience when we entered the van. It was the cleanest we had ever been offered compared to anywhere else we have stayed. It also looked out on to the bay with just the road between us and the beach. The park itself is so peaceful I could have happily stayed there forever. The landscaping was well kept and maintained. We found lots of places to visit in the locality and a little bit beyond so we had to sit and work out what we most wanted to do. Staff at the park were very friendly and helpful. We took our dog who was welcomed at the site which was lovely, with lots of other dog owners staying too who we met on our walks along the pebbled beach (we expected the beach having researched the holiday before it was booked). All in all a well deserved 5 star rating and we will be back.

Lovely quiet site
This is a gem of a site so much so we bought a caravan here very peaceful but close to loads of sites of interest. Staff great and friendly and so are the other site owners. Nearby pub is a welcome site after a hard day site seeing and walking. Site has a laundry and play park but nothing else and if you don't have vodaphone don't think you will get a signal, a real bolt hole away from it all.

Amazing!
This is the second time that we have stayed here, it's amazing! Great for it you want to be away from it, only a small shop on site, and a pub at the end of the road, main shops ares in Stranraer which is about 10 miles away.
They have both caravans and 2 and 3 bedroom lodges, all with sea view over luce bay. You just have to cross the road and you are a lovely beach. Very dog and child friendly.
Some great places to visit nearby.
The lodges themselves are like home, from home. Fully fitted kitchen, furnished to very high standard throughout. We has an ensuite with walk in shower and another with a full bath, and verandas overlook the sea - bliss!
