Mercedes Driving School Reviews

I was recommended Mercedes Driving School from a family member- it's a small office but they really know what they're doing. I purchased a 10 lesson package including my five hour pre-licensing certificate (which was over Zoom) and my road test. I started my first lesson with no driving experience. I had Kostas as my instructor for all 10 lessons. He was so patient, almost always arrived right on time and if not he has never more than 5 minutes late. He was very understanding when I showed up 20 minutes late because I forgot that I had scheduled a lesson that morning weeks in advance. Only particular flaw was that they didn't text in advance, which they did for my 9 hour lessons, regarding this lesson I had booked over a month in advance but I will hold myself accountable for completely forgetting about my appointment. Regardless, Kostas was incredibly patient and I was used to driving in no time. He made me feel very comfortable with my skill set and helped me perfect my turns while giving me confidence in other areas of driving such as smooth breaking, etc which encouraged me to continue practicing. Nonetheless, Kostas is particularly skilled in teaching his students how to parallel park and perform a 3-point turn. All in all, I passed my road test on my first try- despite being very nervous and having a rather moody DMV instructor. I can't thank Mercedes Driving School enough!

I started taking lessons from this school last year with George, who is a pretty good instructor. Personally, I did not respond that well to his way of teaching. I often felt awkward in the car, and even though it was near the height of COVID-19, he spoke negatively of wearing masks (whilst I was wearing one - he wore a cloth covering). Still, his instructions were simple and easy to follow, so I didn't say anything. Unfortunately, I didn't schedule a road test and ended up taking a gap year before resuming my lessons a couple of months ago. With George's instructions, I was able to get the basics of driving and it was definitely a good instructor to start with. The car I used with George was a bit more difficult to drive, I'm guessing it was on the older side - nonetheless, it still worked. When I resumed my classes this year, I asked for a different instructor to see if I would progress differently (which I did!) This time my instructor was Tasos, and turns out his daughter and I were in the same graduating class at Cardozo! Even though I had already taken several lessons, it felt like I was starting all over again, and when we first met, I just asked him if we could go through everything again. He was very patient and encouraging and my first lesson with him was great. I decided to follow through with him as my instructor. I scheduled another five lessons before scheduling my road test. All the lessons went smoothly and often times we would joke in the car about how there's almost no one on the road who respects student drivers. It was a very comfortable environment and when the time came for my road test, I passed first try!

My instructor, Kostas, was a great instructor and thus I passed my road test! On the day of the road test, I was told to arrive an hour early. I was sitting around for 25 minutes until the owner, Harry, came. First immediate red flag was that he walked in without a mask then proceeded to not even wear a mask inside the car! Practicing COVID safety guidelines, am I right? While we were on the way to the exam site, he was raising his voice at me telling me to change lanes even though I had never done it; since I only had lessons around the neighborhood on two-way streets, where I never had to change lanes. I already had anxiety before the road test and him raising his voice definitely did not help lol. I would still recommend this driving school, the employees were nice but, I wasn't in a safe environment with Harry :,)

I am so glad I came and enroll in this driving school. Everyone here was so supportive and accommodating during the pandemic. After 3 fails on driving test from other schools. Guess this is my lucky school because I finally pass the driving test. I am so grateful for this school. Definitely will recommend this school to others. That you are never too old or fail to many times at the exam, because with people in this school will give you all the knowledge,support and courage to help you pass the driving test.
