Had our daughters 13th birthday party at The Haggart Cafe in Mountain Forge this evening. I honestly can't recommend it enough - fantastic set up with divine pizzas & exceptional friendly service from start to finish, as well as great value for money. The decor & atmosphere was lovely, even on damp & cold November evening. It's nothing but positive feed back from the birthday girl & her friends. They're already planning on using the glamping facilities for the 18th birthday 😀

A SUPERB stay that has created memories to last a lifetime! This was our first ever Glamping experience and all I can say is WOW! The Galley view dome at the mountain forge escape is nothing short of Phenomenal. It is gorgeous on first look. Spotless clean. Equipped with all the mod cons and decorated beautiful. They even provide Barry's tea! The kids did not stop smiling for the moment we arrived and as a first camping type experience for them they were overjoyed! We had Wi-Fi for all the tablets at night. And the wonderful Conor couldn't do enough when it came to making a campfire to roast marshmallows with the kids. Providing us with plenty of logs to keep the fire burning! We cooked our own pizzas in the on site kitchen which was spotless clean and equipped with everything you need. The kids enjoyed time at the playground also, which is only a few minutes walk from the dome. It's location is fab! Minutes from the hustle and bustle of clonakilty but also close to the peaceful, beautiful strand beach and inchydoney. This was a really enjoyable stay and we will be Rushing back soon! Thanks so much to the team and the mountain forge escape for making our stay so memorable.

Super ! Nous sommes arrivés tard, sans avoir réservé et le propriétaire nous a très gentiment accueilli ! Prix raisonnable, WC et douches propres, cuisine bien équipée, allez y sans hésiter !

Friendly owner. Nice food but dome robins rest was a disappointment On arrival we were told the dome had been double booked for the next day and they needed to see our confirmation email. The dome was dusty, run down and had a terrible musty smell. It obviously hadnt been aired. Unfortunately it didnt live up to the pictures on the website. Bed was uncomfortable. Terrible nights sleep as the dust triggered my partners asthma and my sinuses. Sorry to say we were glad to leave a day early

Stayed here over past two days. Very indifferent experience , nice location, very dated facilities, we got a glamping dome, extremely over priced for what we got, almost €200 a night. No food available on site until weekends even in summer.

We just left after a stay in the Robins rest pods, I won our stay thru a competition on red fm, it was our 1st time ever doing anything like this and it won't be our last. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were so looked after. The set up is amazing, the comfort of the Robins rest dome was amazing. The site set up is brilliant, caters for all needs .. we can't wait to come back again .

The spots for tents are grassy and flat. Lots of families with kids and we met really nice people in the kitchen. Super facilities for cooking and bathrooms were clean. Even had a hairdryer! Highly recommended!

I’d like to thank the Hegarty family who run the campsite. It was easy to book and the facilities are clean and well laid out. The daughter was very helpful is getting us a site a bit away from the main tents (due to our you daughter needing to go to bed early) couldn’t recommend the site more. It was also very reasonable.

The owners here are really friendly and a credit to their job. You have to remember here that this is a campsite and not a holiday park so your experience will come down a level. It's not too big, will be popular at weekends during the summer and quiet during the week, until school holidays start. The campervan gravel pitches are large enough for the van and an awning with grass on the side but that's it. Not enough room to sit out and cook for example. The site itself is exposed to the wind and is a quiet location. A pub is advertised as a 15 minutes walk away but it's closed until new owners take over. Apart from the walk to Ardfield, all other walks are on the road. Clonakilty is a 10 minute drive away. It has a marquee with picnic tables for the Mountain Grill (a van) and a coffee van (restricted hours). The best burger ever, btw! All meat, no fat etc! And I've never seen a kitchen area in a campsite as good as this. The showers aren't great. It took me 7 or 8 presses of the button to get hot water and then it only lasted a minute. There is one large shower cubicle with bench and hooks. One smaller one where you need to leave clothes on a chair on the other side of the door or else they'll get wet! Of the 3 other unisex showers, 2 weren't working. Shower and toilet cubicles are kept clean but have permanent cobwebs. Despite the above, I do like this place but a weekend or less is enough.
