Brilliantly presented museum of nostalgia (not just brands)
‘Museum of Brands’ doesn’t really do this place justice, because although it has all the brands you will remember, there is much more: toys, books, magazines, games, puzzles, shop display items, etc. It’s also a museum of superb design and artwork, with all exhibits beautifully displayed. To cap it all, the man behind the collection, Robert Opie, was there (and said he often is), so we had a wonderful chat with this interesting man, who is still adding to the collection at a rate of 20 items a week! Consequently, you only see three per cent of his collection - the rest is in storage - but it provides for a really heart-warming couple of hours. Try combining with a visit to the nearby Portobello Road and its market.

Was given annual membership, for the price of daily admission! Fantastic value, as temporary displays are changed regularly. The gardens at the back are lovely too.

Fascinating museum well laid out in a time tunnel with hundreds of exhibits from Victorian era to date. This evoked memories of long forgotten products.

Absolutely packed with artifacts which reach through time from victoriana to the present. Everyone will come to an era where they will have memories of the exhibits on display . We had an interesting and enjoyable time here.

Spettacolare! Mi è piaciuto tantissimo, è incredibile la quantità di cose che c'è da vedere! Un bellissimo tuffo nostalgico nel passato.

I keep returning to this museum with new people :)
As a marketing geek, I love how the typography, materials and design of consumer goods changes as you move down the time tunnel from the late 19th century to the present day. You can almost feel yourself immersed in each era!
I highly recommend to accompany any visit to Notting Hill - Portobello Road is very close by.

The history of the band was very interesting, the young person enjoyed it very much. Keep up the good work in the community.

Nostalgic trip down memory lane
Warm welcome on arrival. Staff knowledgeable about the museum. Very impressive displays and well laid out. Nice little shop, but no Museum of Brands fridge magnets. Cafe not open during our visit. Tickets not too expensive. Enjoyed our visit.

This is an excellent museum. It is organised in a very systematic fashion and is easy to follow. A trip always brings a sense of nostalgia with it. The 9 pounds entry fee is reasonable (this isn’t a museum which receives direct government funding) and is a similar rate to other smaller niche exhibitions such as the Cartoon and Pollock’s Toy Museums.
Those who like this place should also consider a visit to the V and A Childhood Museum in East London. The Castle Museum in York and Edinburgh’s Childhood Museum might also be of interest.
Half my first degree is in History, and those who have a wider interest in the discipline might desire a more detailed narrative. However, this is readily available online anyway.

The Consumer Society
With very well laid out display cases, this museum provides an excellent introduction to things that would have excited consumers from Victorian times to present day. Toys, packaged foods, travel, recorded music etc. Etc.. Not something that tends to be covered in most museums.
A few minutes tube journey from Paddington station. We were able to leave our suitcase in the museum cloakroom.
Not many visitors. A leisurely experience.
