I contacted Jim and his team after adopting my dog Rico, a rescue who had a minor bite history, which then turned into an actual bite. He seemed to be dog reactive and people reactive. Over the 6 week board and train where Cody was the primary trainer, I received multiple updates and pictures of him throughout that time. Because we also thought my house may be the issue they came down here and did some work at the 4 week mark which I really appreciated. Now that Rico is home he is crate trained which has been amazing, knows so many commands. He also has not been. reactive to people while walking or other dogs. We had a friend over in my house who he met and did well with. We're continuing to work on things every day and are so grateful for Cody and Jim and the K9 team!

NCK9 has been nothing but accommodating and professional! Brought my 16 month male Pitbull in for board & train because he was beginning to become reactive at fences and towards all animals. Fast forward 4 weeks and I can hardly believe how they managed to take my 70# tank and turn him into a docile and well mannered pet. He is no longer reactive to neighborhood cats, dogs, bunnies. He’s attentive and even tempered. I have since sent off my older pitbull to them for board and train. Jim/Cody I truly can’t thank yall enough for helping us bridge this training gap.

I was referred to Jim and his team at nck9 to train my year and a half old Rottweiler. We love dogs and we were expecting our first baby and were wanting a bigger tougher looking dog to stay home and watch over the family "we did not purchase our dog from nck9". We brought our puppy home and started realizing with his size and energy that we were going to need him to be well trained for when our baby came. We decided to go with the moth boarding program Jim and his team offers. When we dropped our dog off he was sweet but absolutely wild and out of control, knocking guests over in our home, moving the furniture while playing and he did not listen to us much at all. After just two weeks I came to drop off food for our dog and I immediately could tell the difference. our pup was calm, listening to commands and was actually waking on a leash. this was just at the two week mark. when I cam to pick our pup up after his full month at nck9 I was at a loss for words. our pup would place, and stay on his bed, followed all commands and was a gentlemen on the leash and around other people and dogs. our wild boy who could flip our couch over will now calmly place in his bed stay laying down and not move until he is told to do so. We are now able to take him on walks and have full control over him, we can have guests over without putting the dogs outside and we have a 10 month old baby who can crawl freely around the home accompanied by his big four legged brother. if you are looking for help with your dog this is THE place to go! I can not say enough good things of how our dog was kept, treated and the amazing line of communication we had with the team. In the future we will sending all of our dogs to nck9. This training has allowed us to have guest over, travel with our dog and has given us the ability to have full control over such a big boy letting us give him a much more full life of traveling and hiking and making new friends!

We brought a yellow lab puppy into the family. He is not the first puppy we've trained. But his energy levels are off the charts (Jim confirmed what we thought, that he could be a fantastic bomb-sniffing or SAR dog). We made little progress on our own. After 5 weeks at NC K9, he's a new dog. Henry is still high energy, but he knows enough specific commands that we can now channel that energy when we need to. And he's a dream on a leash, after previously pulling non-stop. Cannot recommend NC K9 highly enough. They know their business.

With the exuberance of a puppy, the strong will of a husky and the intelligence of a border collie, we knew Ricky would need some serious training to ensure he’d be a good canine citizen. Enter Jim and the team at NC K-9! After a month of board and train the Ricky that came back is the same lovable weirdo, but with way better manners! He bloomed under Jim and the team’s care and we can tell he really wants to earn that praise (and training treats let’s be real 😉) by following commands and showing us what a good boy he can be. We still have a little work to do with him but we feel like the foundation the team gave him is solid and we’re excited to build on it!

Jim and the team at NC K9 have worked wonders for our lab. We tried numerous trainers prior to taking Henry to them. We were beyond frustrated. I'm so glad to have found NC K9 LLC! Their structure and system are exactly what our dog needed. You can tell they care about what they do. They also seem to care more about getting it right than about the timeline, which we greatly appreciate. Now that we're home it's super easy to reach out with pics or videos for help.

The difference is such a joy. Two difficult, stubborn, awkward out of control miniature long haired dachshunds arrived at NC K9 LLC in June. Fast forward to August and 6 weeks of behavioral training - did we get the same dogs back? We could not walk them before , we couldn’t take them anywhere, it was such a mess, barking, pulling - it was just horrible! Since picking them up, we’ve taken them to restaurants and hotel bars without problem. Tonight we walked passed an angry pit-bull on leash - Rigsby concentrated on me and heel and walked right by without interest. They sit on their place mats in our living room happily without budging and come when called - they are changed dogs! The hand over handler training was superb - not hurried, dog, not time centered. Jim and his trainers love dogs and truly want them to succeed, miniature dachshund house pets to german shepherd bite and police dogs - they know what they’re doing and are able to adjust between size and vocation - household pet or working dog. We wish we’d found them earlier. Take your beloved pets or working dogs to NC K9 LLC without reservation - you’ll be happy you did.

Our boy soldier went to the 6 week board and train program with N.C. K9 LLC. I first want to start by saying from the initial interest we put i, they were extremely responsive to us and our needs. Throughout the training, they were great with updating us on his progress, letting us know which step they were at, and sending all the pictures. Jim also spent a lot of time with us at pickup to give us the guidance we needed to ensure his training continues. Today is our first day home with him and he has done a full 180! No more pulling on walks, no reaction to people or other dogs, and his correction time is instant. We are very thankful for Jim & his team and recommend everyone to trust them with your pup!!!

They did an amazing job and were great to work with. Highly recommend if you want high quality dog training.

My dog (Ralphie) had an extremely successful stay at NC K9 thanks to his knowledgeable and patient trainers, Geena and Jim. They went above and beyond what I had expected in terms of success for my pet. Geena has driven Ralphies confidence to a place where he is comfortable, calmer and happier around other dogs and our home. Also, the obedience training received from NC K9 has made our lives less stressful and more enjoyable everyday. Their hands on demonstration and instructions for me has made it easy for me and my family to continue his success at home. Having this training has dramatically changed Ralphies life and well as ours. Anyone who is looking to create a better life for themselves and their pet will not be disappointed with the results from the team at NC K9

Just picked my pup up from Jim. Met Gena at tattoo parlor and got talking about dogs. Asked her where she worked because she was the kind of employee I’d want if I owned a company. Awesome experience and a wealth of knowledge. Every client I ran into during process was super friendly as well. Couldn’t say enough good things regarding Jim and his company. Reputation and experience align solid.

This man is impressive. I had reached the end of my rope with regard to getting my dog under control. His training regimen is immersive and completely controlled. His training compound is equally impressive. My Dog has the same personality but now he has discipline. This entire experience was well worth the cost.

Jim and Geena are amazing trainers and super helpful! 10/10 recommend bringing your dogs here, they’re extremely professional and honest.

I have been taking my dog Bravo to NCK9 for 4 years and have nothing but positive things to say about this facility and staff! I have been in the dog world for many years, from Schutzhund in Europe in the late 80's to doing competitive obedience with my retired SchH dogs here in the USA (somehow even managing to win a couple of times at the national level in Obedience)... so I can confidently say I have seen the good and the bad in dog sports/training. Having been to Jim's place twice a week for 4 years I can say without any hesitation that Jim and his staff are definitely great with the dogs, always fair, and one of the very few places I would feel comfortable recommending for training. I have moved to Arizona and sadly will no longer be able to train there anymore but wanted to say a huge thanks to Jim and his wonderful staff and family for making Bravo who he is today and offering such a great place to train all these years. And if any of them see this, thanks to all the great K9 handlers who have helped work Bravo over these years. Carl, Candice and so many others... I can not recommend NCK9 enough for training. You can send your dog there with absolute confidence knowing they will be well taken care of and trained by the best.

Prior to having my pup join board and train, I confidently thought I would be able to fully train my pup but instead I was unintentionally enabling bad behavior and some reactivity with the constant allowing of the social interaction with kids and people. She started to slowly not like children, was extremely bossy and dominant with other dogs and didn’t understand boundaries. Once she started reacting to me I knew i needed professional help. I left my pup with Jim and his facility for just a little over 4 weeks, the day i picked her up i was immediately impressed! She could walk on a leash without ripping up my crocs!! Her impulsivity was under control. No longer reacting to other dogs, no reactivity to people. Jim gave me some homework and we went back for another training session and she was such a great student! I couldn’t be any happier. This is the best investment you can ever make! My pup has confidence and I have confidence in her! If you’re thinking about it..just do it! It is 100% worth it and Jim and his team are the best around.
