PLEASE READ POSITIVE UPDATE AT BOTTOM: I wanted to paint my oak cabinets and didn't know anything about painting cabinets, so I went to the Sackville Benjamin Moore store for advice. It was recommended that I use INSL-X primer and Advance Interior paint. I prepared and painted the cabinets according to the instructions (rough up/light sand the cabinets, apply a coat of INSL-X primer and finish with Advance Interior paint. After two weeks the Advance paint did not seem to be dry. We used the cabinets and found that the paint had poor resistance to any kind of rubbing/cleaning. I put a second coat of the paint on which didn't seem to help. The worst areas were around the cupboard knobs. I have never seen any other paint flake off from around knobs. I took the Advance Interior paint that was left over (about 3/4 of a "gallon") back to the Benjamin Moore store. I explained my experience in detail to the male store employee. The store employee spent the rest of the time telling me that my problem was with "humidity" and that his chip samples in the store were perfect (gee, I wonder why?). The store employee showed no interest in compensating me at all or even telling me that he would send the paint back to the lab to have it checked out. I ended up leaving my paint and the store behind. The store employee made no effort to find out who I was, or check their files for purchase information. This paint was over $100 a "gallon". Now I have to repaint the cabinets (thankfully the INSL-X primer is a great product and I have enough for one coat). This is an example of very poor customer service. The next day the Jerry, the manager of the Bayers Lake Benjamin Moore store called me and offered to come to my house to check out my painting problem. By that time my wife had sanded all of the offending paint in preparation for new paint from another supplier. Jerry then kindly offered me a refund and I was blown away when I was given a full refund for the paint that I complained about. This is an example of excellent customer service. I would certainly recommend Jerry at the store in Bayers Lake for future painting needs!!

Got some carpets installed and working with Mike who was really good to work with but unfortunately the contractor that they used left a mess on the driveway where they cut the carpet and not until I called would they offer to come back the next day to clean it up but with our weather, it's just going to blow everywhere. Apparently they don't vacuum after installing carpet so they leave it up to the home owner. Where is the pride in finishing a job and making sure it's done right? Even on the Home Depot website it states that they vacuum after and inspect the work. Disappointed and if this is what is done in the industry, it needs to change.

Consistently the most helpful staff I’ve encountered just about anywhere! The shop has such a welcoming atmosphere, and everyone who has looked after us on each visit was eager to help (as well as graciously accept help—my son still talks about getting to “mix” our paint using the computer). We ended up changing our renovation plans after our first visit because I realized I’d rather get our paint here than the first place we looked—they engineered a perfect match to the paint we’d already chosen at the first store, and it looks fabulous! When the new BM line of oil based stain I got for our porch turned out to be unusable (my painters thought there was something actually wrong with it, but nope, it’s… just made like that) they searched for and found a few tins of original formula stain at another location and held them for me to purchase. We’ve had a fantastic customer experience here every single time. Recommended without hesitation.
