What a beautiful location for a wedding, absolutely perfect. The meal was alright, the cheesecake was not good, taste and texture not right at all. Waiters/waitresses were lovely and went out their way to make sure everyone was alright and happy. The rooms were lovely, unique and the bed comfy, nice touch with teas and coffee, a bottle of water would of been a nice touch especially after drinking all day, tap water was warm and didn’t taste too good. Water pressure for the shower was not good but I managed. BREAKFAST 🍳 wow that was the best part, lovely service and the food was quality and cooked to perfection.

Didn’t stay at the hotel. But we toured it for an upcoming wedding for my sister. The grounds are beautiful and the barn where people get married is on another level. So cool and aesthetically pleasing. I can’t wait for the wedding.

The venue has lots of character and original features you’d expect in a barn style venue. There was a large number of guests in the dining area. The dividing walls and troughs were a challenge for the staff to serve everyone efficiently. The outside areas are well kept and the most pleasant part. The food wasn’t great. School dinner-esque and a small portion. Our meal included a lamb roast. One slice of lamb, average quality. There was one bowl of mixed veg between ten, which when divided was approx 1.5 baby carrots per person and half a runner bean with a teaspoon of cabbage. There was 2 small pieces of butter on the table - we obviously had to ask for more. The service was basic and I was witness to a member of staff outright accusing a guest of trying to take two desserts (her husband had gone to the toilet). When, rightly, this was challenged, the waitress continued to argue back and I overheard her tell the guest to “stay calm” rather than just apologise and provide the dessert. I then heard later on that the groom had been confronted about the interaction because the member of staff had felt “threatened.” Totally inappropriate and unprofessional to involve the groom on his special day with a false account of what took place, considering the large number of witnesses. There was a child on our table who’s meal hadn’t been catered for correctly. She received the adults portion lamb and a garlic bread starter was assembled from two small slices of baguette which didn’t resemble anyone else’s. At a significant cost to our hosts, I would have expected a bit better from the venue. The other staff were pleasant to deal with and did ensure the rest of day went smoothly. And of course, spending time with the family and loved ones is what will be remembered.

We got married on 22nd June 2024 and had our reception at Donington Park Farmhouse. What a beautiful venue and amazing staff who take such great care of you from beginning to end. It was the first and only wedding venue we looked at and we booked without looking anywhere else. The venue speaks for itself in a beautiful location, the food was amazing with lots of variety and plenty of it. Our lovely wedding coordinator Alicja was just the best, always communicating with us and put our minds at rest when it came to all the final details in the lead up to our special day and Millie and the rest of the ops team worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly, always checking in on us throughout the day. We can't thank them enough for the service they provided and would 100% recommend all newly engaged couples to get their wedding day booked here, they wont be disappointed :)

Attended a wedding here dint like this venue at all to many crammed in for the wedding breakfast not good for the disabled to be seated would be a worry if a you had to get out in a hurry , seating very uncomfortable around the bars and outside no proper coffee only filter at the bar , everything here seemed very basic but I could imagine the price isn’t basic nothing flowed here overall not for us

We visited here for a wedding evening , the staff were very friendly and polite . The food was delicious.

Don't know about the wedding stuff or the hotel, but I do know about the Download metal music festival. For those staying in the RIP locations, Donington Park Farmhouse is the center of the area. The farmhouse caters for breakfasts and meals during the festival. They have a special real ale bar which is dear to my heart. This year the ale lasted throughout the whole festival, so much better than the Carlsberg stuff in the actual festival. They also host a platform for musicians. Such a diverse hotel, catering for weddings and also the Metal Fraternity.

Visited as part of Download Festivals RIP experience. 3 years running now the service and entertainment provided by the Farmhouse start the week off fantastically, a dedicated stage, 3 bars and food from the crack of dawn to well past midnight.

Lovely smallish wedding venue, staff very good. Nice venue. Negative -- very very near Castle Donnington Airport. Around 20 take offs between midnight and 8am, noisy !

Great site at the entrance to Donington, perfect for race weekends

I had my wedding here last September (2023) and have so many regrets. The place is beautiful and there are some staff who would move heaven and earth to give you your special day, however the management are completely inflexible, cold hearted and complaints are disregarded. I spend every day regretting having my wedding here and wish I could do it all over again unfortunately you (hopefully) only have one wedding day, something that the management of this venue forget. As a bride I was forced to check out of my hotel room at 10:30am (the cleaning lady was waiting at the door) despite it my sister in law checking into the room the night after our wedding. It meant that my calm relaxed day went out the window, all 11 of us (myself, my mum, 2 bridesmaids, 2 hairdressers, one make up artist, 2 videographers and 2 photographers) were cramped into a tiny bedroom. It made my make up artist run late as she had to move her whole set up from one room to another so my make up wasn't finished in time for my wedding. I would have paid anything to have a late check out but that wasn't an option. We had to specially order in the cask ale which was fine as it was one reason we chose the venue. We weren't told up front that all the ale had to be bought in advance (we had to guess how much our guests would drink which I'd near impossible and added a lot of stress) we had no real option but to pay for all the beer up front which we did, on the day of our wedding I went to the bar sometime in the evening to have some of the beer and the barmaid tried to charge me for beer I'd already purchased. The barmaid never apologised for her error and even after complaining it took weeks and further complaints until we were told how many people had been charged for beer we'd already paid for. We raised our concerns throughout all the planning process and even had a meeting with the general manager Martin the day before our wedding expressing our disappointment with the venue and their lack of clarity and communication with us, to be told when issuing a formal complaint after our wedding that the management had no record of us ever complaining. We did try and pursue a formal complaint with trading standards however as it was impacting on our mental health we decided to drop it and settle for the insulting £200 offered and try and remember that despite the venue causing such disappointment at least we were married and have each other. There are so many more complaints we made about the lack of upfront communication received from the venue but I don't want this review to be longer than it already is. I urge everyone considering this venue to think very carefully before booking and if you are booking to question the venue very carefully through email any requests you have. If you want a magical personalised day this venue is not for you, they are more suited to specific packages and brides who don't have any specific needs or requests as you can guarantee these won't be granted.
