Excellent customer service and amazing experience from start to finish - definitely recommend! Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to switch our vacation from Kenya to Tanzania. I sent out multiple quotes to various companies, but Philomena's prompt response and customer service persuaded me to book through African Savannah Trekkers. From arranging the COVID test in Arusha and waiting at the hospital for our results, to Elisante (our driver and guide) who was both professional and personable, to the overall safari experience with the wildlife and spotting the Big Five, it was a wonderful experience!! We even got to see a leopard up close and personal! Philomena was even to organize last minute transfers to the airport for us since one of our flights was changed and we needed to leave at different times to go to Kilimanjaro. Accommodation review - We stayed in Hhando Coffee Lodge the first and last night - a very quaint lodge just outside of Ngorongoro - and in the Seregenti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp in the Serengeti for nights two and three. The food in the tented camp was delicious and the water pressure in Hhando was exactly what we needed after two nights in the Serengeti. All in all, accommodation was just what was required! Comfortable beds and accommodating staff at both locations! Just note that in both locations, you do not have wifi in the room. There is no wifi at the tented camp (although I did have LTE data on my mobile phone in Serengeti). With both Elisante and Philomena, African Savannah Trekkers has star staff that go above and beyond. I would highly recommend this company to others considering any type of safari in northern Tanzania!

Big Hunt for a dream We learned about Philomena's company from our friends, they were delighted after the safari. Elisante, the driver guide, was especially praised. We wrote to Filomena without even reading reviews on other resources. Unfortunately, we are budget tourists, and for many years, due to the high cost of safaris, we could not fulfill our dream. There is one more thing that was an obstacle for me to safari - I have problems with the spine, I am a traveler with limited mobility. Long trips are very hard for me. Therefore, the private safari option was chosen for me and my husband. I wrote all this to Filomena. Of all the companies, she was the only one who understood my health problems and offered us an individual route, taking into account health problems. Thanks to this, everything turned out great! From meeting at Arusha airport to boarding a plane in Kilimanjaro. The transfers, for my sake, were split into small sections with rest, we spent the night in a luxurious lodge .... Hhando Coffee Lodge Near the crater. Then we had two full days of safari in the Serengeti and two magical nights inside the park in an excellent tent with a bed, light and its own shower and toilet. . And then another whole day in the lost world of the Ngorongoro crater. I would also like to write about Elisante - he is an excellent driver and a gorgeous guide. He loves his job, he is passionate and cheerful! The main thing is that he is invisible in the car, we love to be behind the wheel ourselves, without strangers in the car, but with him we got complete privacy, only my husband and I, endless savannah, wind and sun in our faces. And, of course, it is indispensable for finding animals. He always saw them before us. Late in the evening we drove very fast, we thought we had to catch our tent before sunset, but it turned out that Elisante learned by radio that there were lions in the trees far enough from our base and we were rushing towards them so that we could see it a wonderful sight. But then we were in a hurry to the tent ... You can write a lot more, but most importantly, you will be in good hands. Only one thing is bad - the hunt is not endless ... We must leave the savannah ... But we took the Serengeti, with its animals, wind and freedom in our hearts, to cold Russia. We saw the real Africa from a childhood dream, and she, now, is always with us. It was presented to us by Filomena and Elisante, for which many thanks to them !!!!

Отличное сафари Ездили по классическому 4-дневному маршруту (Нгоронгоро, Серенгети, Тарангире, Маньяра) с гидом Элисанте. Могу рекомендовать и кампанию, и гида, и оба места ночевки, которые они нам предложили - Hnando Coffee Lodge и Serengeti Heritage camp (особенно последнее: ночь посреди саванны - незабываемое приключение). Филомена очень дружелюбна и информативна в процессе организации тура. Быстро отвечает на все вопросы, даёт рекомендации и помогает найти правильные решения. Элли отличный гид, с ним интересно, весело и комфортно. С его помощью мы увидели во всей красе великую миграцию, а также по много раз всех местных животных. Кампания маленькая, у них нет ощущения конвейера, клиенты получают максимум внимания и действительно безупречный сервис.

Superb service and great guidance Chose this company among about 10 others. Very individual approach, quick and smooth communications. The price was also the best I could find. Everything was even better than I expected: comfortable driving by a very experienced guide Eli, cozy and comfortable accomodation. We slept well, we never were hungry, we saw the big 5 and many many more animals, Eli and Philomenia took care of every detail of our trip. I highly recommend African Savannah for everyone who wants to have an amazing and safe safari trip!

Gateway courtesy of African Savannah We were a group of 5 and started our safari on the 15th of December and visited Tarangire,Ngorongoro and Serengeti national parks through African Savannah. Everything was great the accommodation,the guide and of course the experience. While planning the safari with this company, the response to queries was prompt and very polite and for that I highly acknowledge African Savannah! James, our tour guide was very knowledgeable,patient with us and time conscious. He had a lot of information to share about every wild animal or plant! It was the best experience ever. This is truly a flexible and professional company with focus on customer care. It was a beautiful trip and we all enjoyed.

Unforgettable experience This was the first trip we made to Africa and I must admit that it was the best moment of our holiday. African savannah has the top notch team! Communicating with them was quite smooth and they accommodated us so well. We got to have numerous games drives since we visited Serengeti,Ngorongoro,Manyara and Tarangire national parks...it was beautiful! Our guide Horace summed up the equation..he was really patient with us and so generous too, with him we got to know a lot about the many animals we saw! Unforgettable!

Memorable moments in Tanzania We were a group of 3 and had a 6 day and 5 nights safari. We visited Tarangire,Ngorongoro and Manyara national parks. African savannah can’t be praised better for the wonderful team they are! Considering this is a pandemic period we thought we wouldn’t get to have as much fun but this company went above and beyond to make us enjoy every minute. They went above our expectations and I can never forget this experience in Tanzania,it was one of a kind!

Amazing time in Tanzania We had a 6 day safari in Tanzania from 20th October to 26th and i must admit it was the best trip we've had. I was with my brother and we really enjoyed. We got to visit Tarangire, Manyara and Ngorongoro national parks. Wonderful time with this tour operator!

This company went above and beyond to make the experience the best possible. Even with it being just me on a solo safari. I was scheduled for a balloon ride in the central serengeti but it was cancelled due to not enough people. African Savannah Trekkers made the offer and drove me all the way to the northern side just to make a balloon ride. This is an amazing company to book with and a highly recommend it!

Highly Recommend African Savannah Trekkers and Elisante! I can't recommend African Savannah Trekkers enough! I discussed trip options with multiple companies, and it was a no brainer to go with African Savannah. Communication from this company can hardly be matched - I always had a response within 1-2 days, and usually within just a few hours. And I sent MANY emails asking questions, rearranging the itinerary, etc to make sure that I had all the information I wanted before I committed and paid. Maureen and Amsi were great to communicate with. But what really sealed the deal was my guide, Elisante. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and patient, and made sure I got the best photos. I can't stress enough having a knowledgeable guide who can find where the animals are. He knows the staff at all lodging locations well, and was more than accommodating whenever I needed anything - extra food, a particular souvenir, back up down the road to get another photo of an animal, sit in a spot for 15 minutes gazing at elephants - you name it. ASK FOR ELISANTE - you will not regret it. *NOTE* That $50 bills before 2006 are not accepted in TZ. Thank you African Savannah for the trip of a lifetime!

Amazing safari! African Savannah Trekkers planned a personalized safari for me for March 2020. I was in Arusha for a conference and began planning my safari only a month or beforehand. I emailed African Savannah Trekkers and had great experiences emailing with Philomena Amsi. She was always very responsive and patient to some delays in response from my side. She worked with my to design the itinerary that I wanted and best suited what I was looking for. On the first day of the safari, she came to meet me with the driver and we were able to go through the itinerary and confirm that everything was set. Eli was my driver and guide for the 7 days/6 nights. We visited Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, the Ndutu area, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Ngorongoro crater, and Lake Manyara National Park. It was a busy 7 days but I had a great time and Eli was wonderful with maximizing the game drives. It was the rainy season and Eli did an excellent job navigating the roads!! And he was always willing to let me sit and watch the animals from the vehicle for as long as I wanted and waiting on my prompt before moving on. I brought my camera too and Eli was always willing to stop whenever I saw a new bird or a wanted a photo of the 1000th wildebeest. I was traveling alone and had great conversations with Eli. He's very informative and shared lots of great information on the animals, landscape, and Tanzania. Traveling alone before, I found it can be tricky for guides to maintain the right balance of conversation while also not overwhelming the traveler. Eli dropped me off at the Kilimanjaro airport in time for my departure flight and overall did a great job of managing time. I highly recommend African Savannah Trekkers and am so glad that I booked my first safari with them!

My best safari in Tanzania We were group of 6 people had a 5 day safari and visited Tarangire, Ngorogoro and Lake Manyara.The communication with Amsi was great. Our guide was very nice, experienced and knowledgeable, tried to answer any of our questions and he drive very good.We were able to see so many animals it was amazing. The accommodations Hhando Coffee Lodge was very comfortable. Many thanks to team for arranging our wonderful time.

One of my best trips ever :) Me and my wife was in Tanzania for 5 days in Jan. We were super excited & also a bit anxious at the same time as we have never been to Tanzania before. We landed in Kilimanjaro, went through the immigration, the staffs were so welcoming. Horace(our guide) was waiting for us outside the airport with a big smile on his face :). We stayed in Arusha that night. Next morning Maureen came to say hi and reconfirm the itinerary which i felt was so professional. We spent one night in Serengeti Heritage camp (Highly recommended camp) and 2 nights in Ngorongoro Coffee lodge(Value for money). It was pretty early start and last finish most of the days and Horace made sure he was there on time. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and we felt we were in safe hands. we saw all the BIG 5 on the first day :) but we were upset that we couldn't see cheetahs. Next day Horace drove us like 1 hour deep inside the plain just so we may spot cheetahs and we did see 3 cheetahs with cubs :) :) . It was the best game drive ever. On the departure day Maureen took her time to come and meet us just to make sure everything went well. We did tell her that we are planning to come back again :) The only thing that could be improved is the packed lunch. Overall African Savannah trekkers was amazing.

A great choice for a Northern Tanzania safari experience! I highly recommend African Savannah Trekkers for your experience in Tanzania. I selected the 4 day, 3 night Northern Tanzania safari and it was great. My communication with African Savannah Trekkers was good with fast, clear responses. They delivered on everything that was promised in the trip outline. I found their website to be more precise than others where they specify certain trips for a certain price. I was amazed at how many animals I saw over the four days! I picked the lodging option and was very happy with the rooms and meals.
