Blue Spirit - Buyer Beware Regrettably , I did not get to visit this time . I booked a week in December without checking the airfare first . Less than 24 hours later , I attempted to book a flight from NJ , only to discover that the RT flight cost was close to $2000 Economy Fare, on all commercial airlines. Any cheaper flights( ie. $1765 ) departed at the crack of dawn, and arrived almost 23 hours later! As a senior with multiple health issues , who had registered for a health and longevity workshop , I realized that this trip was likely to damage both my health and longevity . I tried to cancel my booking with Blue Spirit , within 24 hours of reserving . Blue Spirit REFUSED to give me a full refund, instead imposing processing charges . The $3400 payment had not even posted yet according to Chase Visa . In my opinion, Blue Spirit has revealed their true colors to be ruthless business practices, merely hiding behind the spiritual, educational , loving facade whose origins were the human potential movement of the 60’s . True as always, BUYER BEWARE .

Wisdom and Wellbeing We recently went to Blue Spirit to listen to some speakers during their Wisdom and Wellbeing retreat series. The overall experience was great and exceeded our expectations. The facilities were clean, well maintained and despite being full never felt crowed. The pictures on the website do not do the property justice. The property has amazing views, a seemingly constant breeze, beach access to a great beach and is well maintained. All of the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and kind. It was a refreshing change from some of the larger commercialized resorts. We will be going back to Blue Spirit and Nosara.

One of My All-Time Favorite Places! I have had the amazing pleasure of leading retreats at Blue Spirit, Costa Rica since 2015. As a teacher who has led retreats all over the world, I can truly say that this is one of my all-time favorite places! The food, the accommodations, the staff, the beach, the pool and the "Pura Vida" energy combine to make an unparalleled experience of ease and well-being . If you are thinking of leading a retreat here--do it! If you are coming as a guest, I promise it will exceed your expectations!

Heaven on Earth Blue Spirit truly is a magical place and has won my heart over 2 times already. From the first time I stepped foot on the grounds, I knew I discovered a treasure and a spot I would return to more than once. From the lush grounds, to the delicious food, to the yoga shalas, the accommodations, staff and cleanliness, I am only left with positive memories to share. I have attended Blue Spirit in 2014 and 2015 for a Yoga and Meditation program and remember feeling incredibly relaxed, in awe, inspired, and immersed in utter peace for an entire week. The only thought that kept coming to my mind is “Heaven on Earth” 9 years later, I have manifested my dream and have chosen Blue Spirit to host my first Yoga and Meditation retreat February 24th - March 2nd 2024. Blue Spirit is a magical treasure that will sweep you off your feet and float you back home to reality.

Disappointing Poor Covid Safety procedures and policies I attended a one retreat with David Whyte at Blue Spirit Retreat Center. While the property and the food and the accomodations are lovely,. I am a physician and I was very disheartened to see how very lax they are in terms of safe practices in terms of COVID. transmission and safety. I contacted management. The founder is a medical doctor and is on site and received no response. More than a handful of people that I am aware of including myself contracted Covid while at Blue Spirit. They allowed an elderly woman with a very active and obvious respiratory infection to attend all sessions while coughing several times per hour. We were seated close together. I don't know if they tested her (They have a medical clinic on site). Surely she should have been instructed to mask and NOT to cough into her hand then touch communal surfaces. I found this all very lax and irresponsible.. I woke up the day after I returned home with full blown Covid. The current incubation period is 3.1 days, so all of us who got sick were exposed while at Blue Spirit. I also found the transport to and from the airport to be lacking. We had to wait 2 hours for our van to leave for Blue Spirit while waiting for others to arrive. I used their recommeneded service to hire a private taxi to take me to the airport and it arrived 25 min late and I almost missed my plane. And finally, Blue Spirit prides itself as a blue zone Longevity Center, but the meais were very very sparse in protein which is required in higher amounts as we age to maintain immunity, and muscle mass and. healing and repair and cognitive function. It is a gorgeous property. But I do not think I will return.

Disappointed While the food and staff were stellar, there are several odd things about Blue Spirit that would be an easy fix. How about a hairdryer in every room? I was told they were only 14 in the resort. Why?? Most people come to expect an hairdryer, especially for the rate. This is not a hostel! The pool area is very small with only 14 loungers (same number as the hairdryers!!). So, it’s hard to snag one when you want to relax by the pool. On top of not having enough loungers, the pads on the loungers don’t fit properly so as you sit they keep sliding forward. Why not get proper pads for the loungers? Why?? The barking dogs are a problem if you’re a light sleeper. The barking can occur at any time, day or not and last a long time. Not relaxing or conducive to wellbeing.

THANK YOU BLUE SPIRIT I love the place, the service. Cleaning. The food could be more varied since they serve the same thing almost daily. But overall the experience was wonderful. I really like the store and the yoga rooms. The programs are very good. Very satisfied

Ecstatic chant retreat Transforming experience at ecstatic chant week at blue spirit. Very hard to describe with words- the place is a space holding environment for the heart to bloom. Every corner is set up with so much detail, very profesional, a dance between luxury and simplicity..

Heart Opening, Blessed Blue Spirit retreat is so beautiful. The decor gives a feeling of sacred space. The pool is like an oasis in the jungle, often surrounded with monkeys and hummingbirds. And the food is so fresh, colorful and delicious. It is truly Pura Vida.

Amazing retreat center Incredibly beautiful, very comfortable beds, delicious food, accommodating staff! Access to the ocean and a wonderful saltwater pool! This retreat center offers all of that plus massages and the longevity center. An amazing experience on the coast of Costa Rica!

Perfect Retreat Experience Blue spirit is such a treasure. It's a beautiful tranquil respite nestled in Nature and on the most gorgeous stretch of beach. The staff is incredible, the management is incredible. The facility is diverse and well equiped. This is my first choice for hosting retreats of any kind

Excellent place to find peace, joy, and harmony! My husband and I just spent 3 weeks in the third year in a row in this amazing, peaceful retreat. We love the beauty of nature around Blue Spirit – the jungle, beach, warm ocean and the healthy, delicious vegetarian food. The customer service is outstanding – always helpful and very friendly. We enjoyed amazing spa services and anti-aging treatments in Blue Spirit’s Longevity Clinic. Also, the programs we attended were life transforming on body, mind, and soul levels. We always return home extremely rejuvenated, uplifted and at peace.

Outrageouly amazing in every way!!! Blue Spirit Retreat Center is like no place on earth. From the very start you are greeted by a healthy size staff whose joy in working for Blue Spirit is evident. That in itself is rare . Grounds are immaculate from the rooms thst overlook the ocean, a small balcony, beds, lovely quiet airco and fan, main house to the dining room that also houses cafe. I signed up for a smoothie package and so get 8 smoothies for price 7. Fav is Cacao Kick. The paths meander to cottages, longevity center, beach. Tropical trees palms and others are being platted to reseed what can and they’ve done a great job. All inclusive makes it super easy. There are the loveliest people I met both last year and this year at Deva premal and Miten’s week and stayed both years for the Escatic chant with Aykanna, Jai Utal and Krishna Das joining (KD) recuperating so will be here in future Kirtan. LoHonestly from being picked up after a long flight at Liberia Airport (yup u in another country) to the bumpy meandering exciting drive to Nosara. After some turns You come upon a castle. That is your home, I really hope you go And truly relax and re-ignight your powerful spirit and Prana.

True BLISS I have been leading retreats at Blue Spirit since 2015. The staff, the community, the food, and the offerings at Blue spirit are top of the line.Some of the staff has been working there for over 10 years which says A LOT! Set back from the hustle and bustle, there is an infinity pool, and private access to the ocean. 5 different shalas to practice in, a longevity center as well as massages astrology readings, and more. I highly recommend taking your next trip to Blue Spirit for rest and relaxation bliss...
