I set myself and Rooster Bike Tours a challenge: to do the Classic Danube Bike Path (Passau to Vienna) on in-line skates. Tom Cullen of Rooster Bike Tours relished the challenge and was instrumental in helping me complete a truly memorable trip. The keys were practical knowledge of the route, network and outstanding communication. In the planning stage, Tom made sure he understood my capabilities and designed an itinerary that was challenging but within my capacity and that my rest days took full advantage of the wonderful sights along the way. During the trip, Tom was there on WhatsApp to provide advice on the challenges of any particular day, support me when hotel staff were being particularly obtuse, provide encouragement when I found the going tough and being very receptive to feedback on the particular challenges I faced on in-line skates. And he was there to celebrate my completion of the trip. Thanks Tom!

My partner and I were initially booked in for a 5 day Portugal Bike Tour, but last minute I picked up a foot injury. Unable to cycle, we decided to go ahead and complete the tour by car instead of bike. (Blessing in disguise as it was raining an unseasonable amount) Tom was really communicative the whole way through the change of plans. The itinerary was so well laid out with no shortage of things to do. The accomodations we stayed at were above what was expected for the price and we were definitely happy. Already looking forward to doing another tour next year, hopefully on a bike this time 😄

With one side of my family being Austrian, it's always been a bucket list item to do the Danube cycle path. After coming across Rooster through a search engine, I booked their 10 day Danube Cycle path with my fiancé. The communication from start to finish of the tour was excellent, thank you Tom and Dave. We went mid September and the weather was perfect for us. Warm and dry but not too hot as a lot of the stretches have no tree cover for shade. It was definitely one of the easier tours I've done. The path is super flat and averaging less than 30 miles per day. Our tour included a rest day in Melk. I personally didn't need the rest day but my partner appreciated it. The guest houses we stayed at did not disappoint. I've been on a bike tour before which was not cheap and accommodations left a lot to be desired. This was not the case with Rooster. Overall, really happy with our tour and guidance. Would definitely recommend

i rode the Loch Ness out and back route, and it was awesome! the route was perfect for a gravel bike. i brought my own (run what ya brung, right?), but i’m sure it can be ridden on a hired bike. the route is a good mix of pavement, canal path and gravel forest road, and single track. the elevation each day was doable, but be prepared for some steep-ish and sustained climb bits here and there. each night’s lodging was in great. they are BnBs, and the hosts were very pleasant. the bag transfer service operated like magic. the route is a bit remote, but there are opportunities along the way to grab a bite to eat, ice cream or coffee. i suggest taking advantage of the opportunities when you come across them. support was always available. Tom made sure i knew that. he also helped me figure out which your would work best for me. the train to and from Fort William was easy enough to book with my bike, but don’t wait till the last minute to book; there are limited bike spots available. overall, it was a top notch experience!

My partner and I are just back from one of Rooster's pre-season Portugal Atlantic coast tours. It was a 9 day tour and definitely up there with the best tours I've done. From start to finish the tour was hassle free. It makes the world of difference travelling light with the luggage transfer included. The trails themselves have great variety and we saw a bit of everything along the way. There are points where it was challenging and the daily distance is relatively high, so good bike fitness is recommended. We were generally happy with the accommodations along the route, but the real standout part of the trip was the Rooster support team. Before, during and after the tour they could not have done more to make sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves. We are bothing looking forward to our next trip in 2024 already!! Just back from a highlands tour with my partner organized by Rooster! Not only was the tour itself absolutely breathtaking, but every small detail was covered in our itineraries. Their communication from start to finish was flawless and I would absolutely recommend them to others. 🌟 Thank you so much to all at Rooster for taking great care of us! We had the best time and are already planning our 2024 adventure. 😊
