The room was small but it was cozy. The room was immaculate, cleanest room I've stayed in.
The only complaint I have is the shower. No water pressure, the low flow shower head made it worse. You don't save water if it takes three times longer to rinse the soap off. It took a very long time for hot water to reach the bathroom.

Cute and cozy rooms at an affordable price. The room size was rather small but everything was very clean, and the private porch was nice. Would probably return.

We stayed in the luxe suite room 9. Absolutely gorgeous location. Had a balcony overlooking the lake, a beautiful jacuzzi tub inside, and plenty of serene quiet nights. Bed was very comfortable and the host was a very nice man! The room had a full living room, dining area, and mini fridge and microwave. We will be back thank you Savannah Cottages for a fantastic vacation.

The Arrowhead Beach cottage is on a beautiful, clean and quiet neighborhood with a beautiful view of the lake. However, I feel there are a few issues I would've liked to have known before booking.
1. The lake grass/ kelp was so overgrown around the deck in the water that we couldn't even swim and enjoy the water. This can be remedied by clearing out. There's no law that says owners can't remove grass from swimming areas.
2. I wasn't sure who I was messaging. If it was the owner or host of the property but they were EXTREMELY strict on how many people/ guest were at the cottage at any given time. ONLY 4 are allowed under the agreement. After that, you will be charged for any extra and can't exceed 6 people on the property. I feel this was misleading because the ads say accommodates 4-6. You have to read the fine print that tells you it's extra $$ for 5-6 ppl.
3. The beds, although large, were very old mattresses and were NOT comfortable.
4. The AC window unit was extremely undersized. The temp was hot a few days and since the AC couldn't keep up and we couldn't get into the water, due to the lake grass at the cottage, it was very uncomfortable.
5. The toilet was extremely small, uncomfortable and out dated. New, larger/ taller toilets are more efficient and comfortable.
6. The steps down to the dock were pretty sketchy/ unstable. They're in need of repair. Anyone with problems walking or balance should NOT walk down those steps.
I'm sorry, but I can't recommend staying here, especially for the price, unless they resolve these issues, Which is a shame because it could be a more enjoyable vacation option.

We appreciate this guest's comments and stay. It is through this feedback that we are guided in making needed improvements each year. We also use our best judgment, as some criticisms are not reasonable. In general, guests come to Seneca Lake from many different places, but mostly more developed urban-like settings. Guests are generally used to living in controlled environments year around. The Finger Lakes are a magnificent rural experience, and as such, residents here cherish the natural surroundings and live with their doors and windows open, using AC only when necessary. This area also rarely reaches 90 degrees during summer, and we're used to sleeping with blankets on at night and the windows open. The grass in the lake comes and goes and we understand some guests being uncomfortable with it. Those of us that have spent most of their lives by Seneca Lake are accustomed to swimming when the grass appears. The cottage does have a limit of 6 people, including those staying and those visiting. That is mandated by the town and is strictly enforced to minimize traffic and noise, and to protect the effectiveness of septic systems and wells. If that limit is exceeded, we could lose our permit to rent our cottage, which we do not wish to do. We will check the beds and toilet, and replace them if necessary. Seneca Lake is a glacier formed lake, and it has several areas with many steps to the water. We happen to be located in one of the most desirable areas of the lake for many reasons. We have very few steps to the water. Nearly half our few steps are concrete and half of the remainder were rebuilt not long ago. We are not near any train tracks, we are walking distance to the historic Outlet Trail for hiking and biking, we are in the center of the wine trail and near many great wineries and a few excellent breweries, and we are 7 minutes from Penn Yan where there is a very nice super market, many shops and restaurants, and gas stations. And we are walking distance to nice tennis courts and tot lot, and a very nice diner and brewery - and about half a mile from Spotted Duck Creamery, the number 1 rated creamery in the US. Our family is in the hospitality business and we have been renting our cottages and rooms at our country inn for nearly 20 years and have maintained a very high rating every year. We take pride in cleanliness and communication with our guests. Our housekeepers are excellent and we care about our guests. Again we appreciate this guest's feedback and we will make any needed improvements at our first opportunity.

We stayed here for the weekend and our room upon entry was very clean. The decor and music was very serene beachy theme. The details, I can tell; is from staff who really care about their visitors.
Everything in our room worked properly. The patio area, a view of the lake and the area in general is relaxing.
Our host Jeff lives on the premise attentive, friendly and enjoyed the fire we had the last night we stayed. We accidentally left a few items in our room and Jeff sent them to us. So kind and helpful while we were home away from home. ❤️Can't wait for a third visit to this spot.
Thank you Michelle. This is a family business involving 3 generations so far. We know we are small but the family and our staff, who are excellent, work very hard to provide our guests with an excellent experience when they visit the #1 Wine Trail in the country. Your comments will be shared with everyone here. They will be very pleased to see what you have said. Looking forward to many more stays with you. Pat Hoke, owner

We had a great time staying here for 2 nights. Room was as advertised, had everything we needed with a view of the lake off our private deck. It was beautiful with lots of small touches. Everything was very clean! Only suggestion would be for the owners to consider adding shades or curtains to the front windows. We found that even with the blinds shut, you could see into the rooms at night from the parking lot.
Amanda it was great having you as our guests. We appreciate your feedback, which is how we usually determine what changes or imrovements to make. We plan to make changes to the blinds as you suggested. Thank you. Hope to see you again at the Savannah House Wine Country Inn and Cottages.
