Great to eat out in the patio area. The service and quality of food are good. We had a sushi all around and next time will try the shabu shabu!

I had a really nice experience here! the food is really good & the workers are always so nice! service seems a little slow though, but it didn't bother me too much. definitely would come here more often!

This shabu place needs to work on their meat quality. Orders the premium beef toro and it was 85 percent fat. They just piled it on top of a plate and it looked like it came from the scrap yard. The meat was so chewy I had to spit out some super fatty parts. Service was alright for only having one worker. I had to ask for the sake several time before receiving it. Plus the sake tasted awful, but maybe because it was towards closing time.

Excellent service! Really nice and kind waitress, named Bianca, who recommended us some really good food. They do follow the COVID19 guidelines so as of today (March 2021) they are open and safe.

The service took too long, but he was the only one working on a Sunday. Once the food finally arrived, it was just okay. Not enough to justify the long wait times.

Just left after having dinner. Wasted time, money and energy. Put my name on the list after asking how long the wait was because we were contemplating eating next door at the ramen place. The small Asian lady said 2 tables were about to leave and the wait wouldn't be long, (basically lying for more business). Fast forward 27 minutes. Got seated by a younger Asian gentleman. He took our order and being Shabu snobs, asked for minced garlic, green onions etc.,  had to call him over to order additional add ons. He forget extra napkins, rice, felt the vibe he was getting annoyed but NOT MY PROBLEM if you keep forgetting and I have to keep asking. Everything is ALA CARTE. The prices for the proteins were surprising to say the least. I figured the portions would be decent. Now I've been eating shabu shabu all my life, eating at all the top spots and let me tell you, their portion was a small based on the other places I go; my all time fave in OC called YUZU has 2 mixed servings for WAGYU for $78. So I'm comparing top quality establishment here... the sides of veggies came out and I was so shocked I had to take pics. We ordered additional sides, those were satisfactory. I base my review on the quality of service, food, proportion and pricing. I'm giving 2 stars only because the meal was ok. Later on the lady came by asking if we needed anything and our broth was getting low. It was very low to begin with. She walked away then got sidetracked by other customers and was literally talking to them for over 10 minutes. Sitting on the booth side, it's uncomfortable because it's far from the table (you cannot move closer) the pot seemed deep because the broth was about 1/4 of the pot. They literally gave a ridiculous portion of enoki (without the bottom cut off) and unbelievably skimped on the udon and glass noodles. The glass noodles got lost in the broth because there were so few. You'd think they knew how to multitask. They didn't. My family owns multiple restaurants locally so I know the ins and out from the floor, register, kitchen etc., but they completely lacked in all aspects. Never coming back. Our meal including 15% tip (I usually tip way more) came out to $120. Totally not worth it. Maybe Chino/Chino Hills do not know quality Shabu. I used to frequent with the former owner and loved the handmade noodles with black bean sauce. Total downgrade from the original Wara. Would not recommend this place unless you want poor service, time wasted, mediocre food and high pricing. ***NEXT DAY EDIT*** I know it's TMI, but I was on the toilet literally on and off for 4 hours, never had such an experience before. I have no idea what it was but I'm thinking of calling the health department!!! Ruined my dinner and night.

Wonderful gem of a place if you enjoy fresh and healthy food.  The ingredients and food are all fresh and high-quality and in terms of portions they are incredibly generous and I am a picky person when it comes to shabu.  I knew this place would be good when I ordered some thing as simple as the raspberry ice tea and got a homemade brewed tea drink that was clearly a homemade and homebrewed recipe that was delicious. Since this was our first time I thought it would be a good idea to order a variety of items since this place has both shabu shabu and sushi.  So I ordered the salmon sashimi and to my pleasant surprise the portion was massive and incredibly delicious.  Don't let the photo fool you, The portion was generous well beyond what you would normally see at a traditional sushi place but it was soft and fresh.  As a side we tried out the tofu and it was a wonderful pairing of bonito flakes and the light sauce.  For the shabu shabu we went with Tonkatsu and Spicy Tonkatsu.  The broth was light and vibrant and left a lot of room for growth in the flavor profile as you added more vegetables and meat.  It's the kind of broth you can enjoy throughout the entire meal without feeling heavy or salty I enjoyed it a lot. In terms of the quality of meat we ordered the certified Angus short rib and the Choice Ribeye.  If you're on the healthier side enjoy enjoy a full flavor beef with just the right amount of marbling I would highly suggest Angus short rib.  If you just enjoy decadence the ribeye has a healthy amount of marbling and is incredibly soft it's definitely a nice quality of beef.  The vegetable selection given to you is also a healthy portion but not overly large just the right amount. I think we found our casual date night or casual meal place that's appropriate for any day of the week.  If you were thinking about trying this place out don't think just go eat it and you'll be impressed.  To support that claim if you stay long enough you'll see the constant flow of loyal locals that have called this place their home.

Update: There are NO other ingredients in the hotpot other than the vegetables, meat, and noodles that were given to us by shabu wara. The pot that was used was washed and rinsed before being filled with the broth + veggies. It is extremely offensive to try to put the blame on the customer when all we've asked for was a refund and no further compensation for this horrifying experience. It's also unprofessional to try and call the customer to ask to take the review down and to result to such a reply that's different from what was discussed. --- ... I have tried to give this place so many chances because this is the only hotpot place available in the Chino Hills vicinity. Today I ordered and got takeout of my usual two short ribs with the spicy miso tonkatsu soup... and after emptying the styrofoam of most vegetables .. I noticed tiny black dots. As I looked closely I realized they were tiny beetles!!! I told my family to stop eating and started looking closely at the soup which was by now filled with the vegetables that we already had mostly consumed and started to see tiny specs floating around which I first thought was sesame seeds... Once I started spooning them out and looking closely at them I realized they were tiny insects again. But this time 8... from just scooping them floating around. How many did we eat?!... I felt so nauseous. I am never coming back again. I am shocked and disgusted.

They made me share with someone who had just gotten over COVID. I wanted my own bowl just in case and they said I would have to share. The service was very bad. They kept forgetting to get the cilantro and onions and other stuff I asked for. Also the food was okay. Not bad not good. Very basic, but the service is really why im giving a bad review.

I have been wanting to try this place since my Shabu place closed due to Covid. So I took my son on a lunch date today. They did NOT disappoint! Everything was delicious. The service was great! I ordered the rib eye with Sukiyaki base. Will definitely be going back!

First time coming here and probably won't be the last. My hubby really loved it and it was his fist time having hot pot. We got the spicy tonkatsu both and order toro, short ribs and wagyu. We got noodles and rice. Perfect set up for two what we got. It is outdoor dining. Which was fine and dinner. It was nice outside and got hot broth to warm our bellies. Will come back for sure. I don't live close by but it's an option I would pick if I was around the area again.

Not the same as 4 years ago. Covid times Came here thinking it was all you can eat shabu but it wasn't. Also, the owners changed I believe. They used to have the most amazing hand made noodles but now they don't. They allow dogs on the patio but the owners wife is deathly afraid of dogs which made it a little inconvenient to hold the dogs tight everytime. It also seemed like she didn't even want to serve us after. And she kept saying how am I supposed to serve you guys? Also, our dogs were small Pomeranians and a golden retriever. None of the dogs lunged at her or anything. I do I Understand peoples phobias, fears, past experiences, but it made the experience unpleasant, However they are all super friendly and informative. She said the first broth is pretty much water and seaweed and explained to me the differences in meat marbling. The broths were all amazing. Water comes in a bottle with red cups. But was free I think lol Overall good but not all you can eat Just realized that for the cost it's expensive! 4 people, 120 bucks. We got one of the cheapest meats. No extra noodz. I was still super hungry after.

My togo order was late from its scheduled pickup by almost an hour. I understand it's a busy night but if you're expecting a busy winter weekend night, there should definitely be more transparency about the wait time. I've never had a pickup order delayed this long.

The perfect place for an outdoor (COVID safe) winter dining experience!! For a cold night, the heatlamps, hot shabu, and hot sake were saviors Our waiter Thai was very helpful and attentive, which really elevated our little birthday dinner --hot pot: they have split pots so you can choose 2 soups, we did miso and spicy tonkatsu with different types of beef (ok). Plus the meats come with veggies and udon --appetizers: we ordered sushi rolls and gyoza to get our meal started NOTE: They have the hot drops to make your sauces and soups spicier!
