If you're looking to sell your home or property, I can't recommend Bruce McGovern highly enough. First of all, Bruce is an honest, straightforward guy with integrity in an industry where you don't always find that. Second, he listened, understood our needs, was very accommodating, and treated our home as the unique situation it was, all while maintaining a low pressure approach. Third, he knows real estate in Haywood County and has a great many local contacts that can be incredibly helpful at times. Finally, instead of a large office with a dozen agents, it's just him and Melissa, so we got very personal service. Bruce stuck by us and went above and beyond the call of duty over and over again in the sale of our home. Most buyers these days start their search for property online with the MLS listings which means that big office that's part of a national chain no longer provides any real advantage. Bruce has the exact same access to those MLS listings as the big guys so the "small is beautiful" approach will cost nothing and gain you the kind of personal service and attention that can make a real difference in your property sale. Bruce McGovern is the guy you want representing you in the Haywood County real estate market!

Bruce and Melissa are the most down to earth professional people. Being a tenant for almost 4 years now, I have gotten to know each of them and it has been an absolute joy. Bruce has been managing my rental property for several years. He is very responsive to any concern whether it comes from me or a tenant. He listens, offers constructive feedback and maintains professional composure and integrity at all times. He went out of his way to accomodate our needs even after the sale purchase. He offered solid advice and gos to lengths to provide the best experience before, during and after the real estate transactions. He is very knowledgeable about the WNC area and has been 'matter of fact' with information he provided us with. He had never been pushy or biased, on the contrary always set with a calm demeanor. Bruce McGovern has also provided us with professional contacts to move forward with transactions, remodeling, etc. and even went above and beyond helping us cut costs and labor work (even after the purchase)! Bruce emmanates how business people used to be back in the good ol' day when money did not trump being humane and person-centered! Update: property still shows as under contract on his website and all MLS data websites and have not closed. 2 months later and they haven't closed. I closed on another property in the same town in 30 days. Guess he should have answered my call to have a buyer who could actually close fast. For context I am a licensed real estate broker in Illinois and my day job is selling leads to real estate brokers throughout the US. 4,000 brokers nationwide. So suffice to say I have a lot of experience with brokers. And Bruce epitomizes why people have such a bad view of our business and real estate agents in general. I reached out to Bruce about a property he had listed which I was interested in purchasing for myself as an investment. Almost 2 weeks go by and he gets me zero of the information I asked for. Quintessential real estate broker who has no tangible information at all about their own listing. I have no idea why agents list commercial properties when they can't even answer basic questions. Maybe he's used to buyers who don't ask questions. He is your typical agent who slaps a property on the MLS and collects their fee not following up with an actual customer interested in purchasing. Not to mention I sent him several emails and left a voicemail with 1 mediocre response that "he was going speak with his seller and get back to me". Then he sends me an automated email that one of the properties I inquired about is now under contract. Still not providing me with any of the information I asked about. Amazes me how some people stay in business with their terrible communication skills and lack of customer service. No idea how someone could be paying him a commission when he just lets buyers slip through the cracks. Seems hard to believe he is meeting the fiduciary duty to the seller and earning his fee. I was still interested in his listing like I told him from my last email but apparently he doesn't care.
