A jewel in the Amazon The family atmosphere at Sinchi Wayra is bar none, the best. Every day we woke up to a beautiful bed made with flowers and beautiful towel sculptures. Meals were prepared with care and chef Chino is an excellent cook. The presentation was so appetizing. We were fortunate enough to spend Christmas Eve with the family and felt warm and welcome. Jessica Introduced her whole family and we really felt like we were part of it. We were even privileged enough to celebrate a Wayusa tea ceremony with Margaret, the mother and heart and soul of the lodge. It was so special listening to the birds of the Amazon and looking out over the Rio Napo while sharing this special, traditional Kichwa tea with the family. Edwin, the manager of the lodge, is exceptional. He has an incredible eye for birds and can see and hear them well before we ever could. The animals and flora of the area are fantastic. The tours were well organized and comfortable. I would highly recommend this incredible slice of Amazonian life. The Cultural richness of Kichwa people make it even more special. Edwin and his family have created a gem in ecotourism- sharing and preserving the historic and spiritual essence of this gorgeous and important area in the Amazon jungle.

A beautiful place with fantastic hosts. We will remember this place and the Sinchi Wayra family forever, and plan to return one We stayed here for a wonderful 5 days that we will never forget. If you stay at Sinchi Wayra, you will have excellent experiences, see wildlife, and have adventures, but the thing that will truly stay with you is that the family is so welcoming. We felt so cared for during our stay here and all the staff were exceptional. They all went out of their way to teach us language and culture and include us in their lives for the 5 days (despite needing Eddie the guide or Google to translate a lot, due to my limited Spanish). Eddie was an exceptional guide and was fun, genuine and knowledgeable. Margherita's knowledge about plants, medicines and local history was amazing. The food was fantastic and the roo s were beautifully presented. The whole family made this experience so, so special. If we are ever in South America, we hope to come back to Sinchi Wayra!

Amazing trip to the Amazon We spent four nights at the lodge and had an amazing time. From being met at the airport to being dropped off for our flight at the end everything was seamless. The lodge itself is very comfortable and the staff are all genuinely lovely. The meals are amazing and plentiful. It’s a three course meal twice a day in addition to breakfast. There’s also free tea/coffee/water on all the time and you can buy beers if you want. We had two guides with us for each of our excursions (Freddie and Mauro). We saw loads of different types of monkeys, multiple caimans, an anteater, frogs, tarantulas plus loads of other insects and birds. Mauro was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything to us in English and answered all our questions. Each day was different and we had day time walks and evening excursions. We particularly enjoyed the day where we had a cooking class at the nearby Sani Village and then piranha fishing and up the observation tower. On the whole had an amazing time and really pleased we chose the Sinchi Wayra lodge.

A perfect Jungle adventure I want to thank the staff at Sinchi Wayra for a wonderful five day adventure at Yusani National Park. The eco-lodge is only an hour or two canoe ride to see the diverse range of birds, monkeys and flora that is unique to this area. My highlight was seeing the Pygmy marmosets closeup, seeing the squirrel and howling monkeys, finding the snake and caiman right on the river bank, the amazing view of the toucan and macaws at the tree top tower, and walk through the jungle to find spiders, frogs and insects. Being in a small group made it so much easier to take photos and take time to observe the wildlife.

Unforgettable 4 days 3 nights at Sinchi Wayra Yasuni Lodge I and my wife spent 4 day 3 night stay at Sinchi Wayra Yasuni Lodge end of May. It was a great experience. It is run by a local family who are very friendly and kind. We met one of the family member at the airport in Coca, then they took us by taxi to the river, where we boarded a motorized canoe, and then it was a 2-hour journey to the accommodation. Our guide, Edi, spoke fluent English which was helpful as we don't speak Spanish. The accommodation is comfortable, however, there was some problem with the water, ( because there was no running water when we arrived), but it was resolved by the afternoon of the next day. Everyone was very hospitable, our tour guide and his mother, Margarita, know the local flora and fauna extremely well. We had wonderful hikes in the jungle where we took lots of photos. They served very delicious food and drinks, even a 4-star hotel would be praised. All this in the middle of the jungle. We are glad that we chose them. For those who want an authentic Amazon experience, I highly recommend Sinchi Wayra. 4 napos, 3 éjszakás tartózkodásunk a Sinchi Wayra Yasuni Lodge-ban nagy élmény volt. A helyi család üzemelteti, akik nagyon barátságosak és kedvesek. A cocai repülőtéren találkoztunk, majd taxival a folyóhoz vittek bennünket, ahol motoros kenuba szálltunk, majd 2 órás út következett a szállásig. Vezetőnk, Edi, folyékonyan beszélt angolul, ami hasznos volt, mivel nem beszélünk spanyolul. A szállás kényelmes, azonban akadt némi probléma a vízzel, mert érkezésünkkor nem volt folyóvíz, de másnap délutánra megoldódott. Mindenki nagyon vendégszerető volt, idegenvezetőnk és édesanyja, Margarita, pedig rendkívül jól ismerik a helyi növény- és állatvilágot. Csodálatos túrákat tettünk a dzsungelben, ahol rengeteg fényképet készítettünk. Nagyon finom ételeket és italokat szolgáltak fel, akár egy 4 csillagos szállodának is dicséretére válna. Mindez a dzsungel közepén. Örülünk, hogy őket választottuk. Aki hiteles Amazon-élményre vágyik, annak nagyon ajánlom a Sinchi Wayrát.

Amazing Jungle Experience What an amazing experience this lovely family has created in the heart of the Amazon. We were excited for our trip but weren't quite sure what to expect, and everything truly exceeded our expectations. Being greeted with a cold beverage every time we returned to the lodge, our guide Eddy's expansive animal knowledge (especially birds), the delicious meals prepared for us by Chef Marco, and the beautiful service and hospitality provided by the whole family. Everything was very organized and seamless, from our airport pickup to our airport dropoff. There was only one other couple there during our stay and they actually left a day before us so we essentially had a "private" river tour on the last day (the lodge is currently designed for small groups so it feels very peaceful and intimate). The lodge is definitely quite "rustic" but that is what we were looking for...it is VERY clean and the rooms seem fairly well sealed in terms of (in my previous jungle experience) the insects that tend to find their way inside. Mosquito nets are provided over the beds as well, and our rooms were refreshed every day. And best of all, we had the good fortune to see a giant anaconda on our very first day (though this is not very common; we got so lucky!). There were so many other wonderful animal sightings from monkeys to frogs to pink dolphins to many different kinds of birds. If you are looking for a peaceful yet adventurous jungle experience, look no further than Sinchi Wayra!
