Horrible customer service! I had my hair color and trim appointment set up with them for over 2 weeks, I had blocked that time out of my work day to get this done at 3pm. They cancelled a 3hr appointment because I was 18 minutes late. I was paying a significant amount of $$ to get my hair done, but they were so dismissive. I was standing at their help desk and the receptionist told me the stylist has left because I was late by 18 minutes. He kept repeating the same "I can't do anything" - so rude! Not that I would ever want to reschedule, but the receptionist also told me I would have to pay a $100 deposit to reschedule. With all due respect to everyone's time, a 10-15min grace period is expected in ANY business setup, plus you're supposed to show the client some compassion and respect if they're at your door, albeit a little late. Especially when the procedure they booked for $400+. Don't go here unless you want to be made to feel like the stylist is a bigger deal than the client.

I hadn't cut my hair at all during quarantine and was looking for a new stylist. I found Gina at Follicle Hair Salon and could not be happier.I told her about my very fine naturally wavy hair and asked for her thoughts. She came up with a great style that would work with my hair texture and lifestyle. She gave me a great cut and made my hair feel like new again. She was also super fun to chat with and made me feel very comfortable. I will for sure go to Gina for all of my hair needs going forward. Can't wait for my next trim.

Had a great experience at Follicle! Easy to schedule an appointment and one of the more affordable options I've seen in the city although definitely not cheap. Marc was my stylist and did a great job executing just what I wanted. Will be recommending to my friends!

Follicle Hair Salon is the perfect place for all your hair needs. Alejandro is great with your hair. I have been getting my Keratine treatment there for the last 4 years and it really lasts. The salon is very clean, bright and airy. They take all the necessary covid precautions. Really recommend it.

I used to pay $150 for a Brazilian blowout at Thai salon, and I haven't been back since the pandemic. I was supposed to go in today, but cancelled it because the price went up by $50, for a total of $200 for a Bb. No one told me, I had to ask. And when I explained that my usual price was $150, the response was that it might cost me an additional $50 on top of the $200 if my hair needs more product. It wasn't the right response considering that my price (especially for having been their client for many years) not only went up by $50, but might even be an additional $50 to make it a total of $250. Shopping time for a new salon. $200-250 for a Brazilian blowout is ridiculous.

This review is for Marc! I was in the salon on 10/30/20 for a cut and blow dry. He was awesome, followed covid guidelines, and was really fun to talk to. They took my temp upon arrival and the salon did not have a lot of people in it (which is a good thing) 10/10 hair cut!

10/10 for both Van and Marc. This was my second time at Follicle and it was as wonderful as I expected. I got Brazilian blowout with Marc in Nov 2019 and it was amazing so when the salons re-opened and I thought about getting a color and cut I already knew which way to go. Van did a wonderful job, I got the exact color and cut I wanted. I wouldn't want it any other way. She is super nice and absolutely delightful to talk to, she takes time to answer all your questions and explains every step during the process. She was very thorough and was very transparent about the price and process right in the beginning which I hugely appreciate. I love this place for so many reasons and hygiene is one of them, specially in these times. They are taking all the necessary precautions to make you feel safe. Van took my temperature before I stepped in, both of us had our masks on throughout the entire procedure. She did not try to rush the process one bit and did I mention she is super fun to talk to!! I'll be going back to her for blowout in next few weeks! Thank you so much for such a lovely color and cut, Van. Keep styling! ‍

I called to get a Brazilian blowout and got scheduled for Marc. I was running late due to an accident on the highway‍) but April, the front office rep was super kind and responsive. Marc was super nice and patient. I enjoyed the magazines I read while getting my hair done, and my hair turned out beautifully. The price was also very reasonable. Thank you so much, Marc! I'll be back. :)

I recently moved to SF from Philadelphia and was searching all over for a new salon/stylist that I connected with. Alejandro at Follicle was just that! He understood what I was looking for, and did meticulous work while engaging in great conversation. My consultation with Alejandro and the hair cut wasn't overly expensive, and cost exactly as advertised. Friendly receptionist, and the whole vibe of the place was cool. Happy to have found my new spot for a haircut in this city! Alejandro, you rock.

Been going for years. New owner banned me after I complained about one of my Highlight services with Amanda that looked practically unnoticeable. I went to her to have it fixed and she wanted to charge me full price because she said it had been too long. Really unfair, and I couldn't afford it in one month. It was just after the holidays and they had closed for two weeks for renovations. I told her I had a job interview so I needed to take my business elsewhere. I live right next door and tried to smooth things over. Owner is unfriendly and uncompromising. Now she has all the hair stylists banning me when I went back for a different service(Brazilian). Absolutely ridiculous.I referred a friend who has been going there for months. She told me he books his own clients. I showed up today and he literally turned me away and said no one at the salon will do my hair. Unbelievable!See pics for validity of my complaint. Before she did my hair, these are the pics Amanda took of my hair. She did a whole video and took lots of pics during my service for her IG and then never posted any of it. Honestly, I think because the service didn't come out very good. Maybe if she wasn't so busy trying to take pics, she would have been more focused on the service I paid for.Now I go to krista_coloristsf She is amazing with blondes. I get the Brazilian blowout from Marc every few months. He does an amazing job! I highly recommend this place!

This review is for an exceptional hair Stylist Mauricio, I am a model of a very demanding agency who dictates exactly how my hair should look like. Since I have a blonde hair with highlights when the hair is styled during modeling it tends to damage a lot. I looked for someone who is professional and will not damage my hair and found the best, Mauricio. I reached him through my amazing eyebrow stylist, Selenia, and from the day I met Mauricio I knew I'd trust no one better with my hair. The agency and my regular hair stylist is located in LA and I use to only do my hair there and let no one else touch my hair. Now I have Mauricio in San Francisco and I'm so blessed with his patience and profession.

I'm pleased with the hair color and cut, less so with the price.I got partial highlights done, with cut. I looked up the prices and it said $200. I received a text saying the appointment I booked was not possible at the time slot, so we had to reschedule. The available appointment in the timeframe I wanted was with the senior stylist Van for $235. I said okay and went for it. I wanted a medium brown partial highlight and she explained how the brightest color without bleach would only light up this much (showed a picture). I wanted it to be lighter and so we went a bleach and toner to get the medium brown shade. Van did a great job with my hair, I love it! On billing I was charged an extra 55(!!} bucks for the toner. I've gotten highlights done multiple times and the toner was never an additional charge. Nor was I told about the charge when discussing color. That sounds a bit unfair. My total was $290 (before tip) :( Great salon, but pricey!
