Plenty of walks, which are dog friendly. Cattle, sheep, deer all to see.

Fantastic day out! There is so much to see, lovely walks and stunning views. The staff were super friendly and cheery, which immediately made me feel happy. As well as the picturesque scenery and the history, there are fields with free roaming deer and sheep you can walk through! I imagine it's gorgeous in all seasons and I'll definitely be coming back 😍

Great place to take a wonderful walk around a beautiful peaceful gardens and fields after a long drive. Walk around close to the herd of deer, a sight to behold. Great little coffee shop. And then find the tucked away castle.

This place is lovely to blow the cob webs away with the kids. Lots of great parking and never struggled. Always got a space in the accessible areas when we're with my mum who has mobility needs. Entrance is informative and friendly. There are all terrain scooters available, but less likely to be available if it's a last minute decision to visit obviously. Playground is big enough to be interesting not not too big to lose kids in but some bits are a bit worn and therefore precarious under good if you're not paying attention. Cafe is lovely, lots of good National Trust Cake, which lets face it, it's what we go for 😂 Toilets aren't the cleanest but definitely not the filthiest I've been in. Gardens and castle are fun, I'm not a garden or castle expert but the kids have fun in them, they're nice to walk round and have a look at the view. This is a staple National Trust place we go to when we're stuck for ideas as we know it has everything we want.

First time visiting, I was shocked at the admission fee by the end of the visit ! The gardens have not get any thing to look out that you wouldn’t see walking around a housing estate, barely any flowers , apart from the greenhouse and the large house it’s not worth paying . Shocked at the costs . Hands down the worst National Trust day out I’ve have ever been !

All very hilly, gardens! This must be a joke of course. Helpful staff ferried us up the mountain on a golf cart, not for the disabled and the house wasn't available to visit. Big disappointment as we selected it for the gardens, for us a wasted day out.
