I just completed an intensive session with Dana Johnson at the Spellers Center of Tampa, and I can confidently say that she and her team is brilliant at what they do! I’m looking forward to applying everything I’ve learned with my granddaughter.

During my time there, I had the privilege of chatting with other parents heading into their sessions, and they all spoke highly of how the Spellers Center of Tampa has changed their lives. If you’re considering working with them, I urge you not to hesitate!

My journey began with Dana Johnson’s book, "The Spellers Guide," which I highly recommend as a wonderful introduction to her approach.

I truly believe they deserve a 10 star rating but they only allow a five-star rating. Their passion and dedication to their work are evident in everything they do. Thank you, Spellers of Tampa, for your incredible support and guidance!

Dana and The Spellers Center Tampa have changed my son's life forever! We've worked with them for almost 2 years now, and every intensive experience has been incredible. So grateful for this program. Dana is so patient and understanding with my autistic son, while also challenging and supporting him through new skills on the spellers board each time.

We have loved learning how to s2c to communicate from Dana at Spellers Tampa. Her respect and presumption of competence for our son was so motivating and wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and kind. We will continue to visit to assist ourselves on this journey. We are so proud of our six year old non-speaking son who continues to show us all he knows. Helping your child communicate is the greatest gift you gave give them and your family. Forever thankful and can't wait for what's to come.

Love, kindness, patience, and assumption of intelligence….this is what every new speller and their family will find at Spellers Tampa. Dana and her staff are highly trained and skilled to find what works to get your child spelling. They are the experts! They turn disbelief into confidence in knowing that your child is capable of so much more than was previously thought possible. Seeing is believing. If you want to see this for yourself, then I’d highly recommend that you make your next vacation in the Tampa area and that you schedule an intensive with her and her staff. You won’t regret it!

From start to current this has been an amazing experience and invaluable to our family. Taryn and Dana take time to explain and answer any and all questions. We feel supported, educated and challenged. I am so glad that we found this center and took the leap. My son is learning at 21. It is never too late.

I am so grateful for the incredible help Dana Johnson provided during an intensive Spellers session for my daughter. Lily is 8 years old and non speaking and has been working on her spelling for about six months. Dana took the time to really assess Lily's needs and quickly identified that she required a different board to best support her spelling. Since making this adjustment, Lily has made tremendous progress and is now flying through her lessons! She’s one step closer to being open, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Dana's expertise and dedication made all the difference, and we are so thankful for her support!

I also want to give a huge shout-out to Melanie Conway, the occupational therapist at Spellers in Tampa, who conducted an intentional motor assessment for Lily. Melanie took the time to show me various workouts and exercises that I can do with Lily at home to help strengthen her core and motor skills. I’m looking forward to following up with her on a Zoom meeting to continue supporting Lily’s progress. Thank you, Melanie, for your thoughtful guidance and support!

What an awesome experience! We look forward to our next spelling intensive with Dana!

Our 15-year-old son has limited and, at times, unreliable speech. Over the years, we’ve tried countless interventions, always knowing deep down that he is intelligent, he just needed a reliable way to communicate. None of those efforts however have brought the immediate results we experienced within just 10 minutes with Dana. Through her work, our son was finally able to prove what we’ve always believed: he is bright, capable, eager to learn and eager to communicate. Dana, thank you for recognizing the possibilities within our child, for understanding the unique challenges faced by those who love and care for him, and for dedicating your career to helping not only our family but others like us. We are deeply grateful for your impact on our son’s life.

We had a 5 star experience doing an intensive with Dana Johnson. Her expertise, knowledge, and understanding provided us with such insight into our son's abilities, and gave us so much hope for his future.

We saw Dana for an intensive, because my son has been doing the Spellers Method for a year and a half but has been having trouble finding the letters on the board. Dana found that holding the board higher and slowing him down would allow his eyes to catch up with his brain. She has a good understanding of how posture, muscle strength, vision, etc. combine to determine success or failure in using the letter boards, and she gave advice on exercises that could achieve our goals. Her advice was very helpful!

My daughter and I traveled from out of state to attend a 2 day intensive at Tampa Spellers with Dana Johnson. Overall it was a good experience and we learned a lot in a short time period. My daughter needed to adjust during the first session, I appreciated Dana's patience during that time. My daughter did very well during the follow-up sessions and is still doing well with spelling at home. It was worth the investment and trip. I look forward to learning as much as I can from Dana and the rest of the Spellers community. I think we finally found our tribe!

I took a chance or so I thought and brought my 19 year old nonspeaking son with DS to the speller center. I was not certain of what to expect. Dana showed me through using the SPELLER method with my son that he is indeed very smart and there is so much more to him than your typical "expert" would have said. I watched with a skeptical eye at first, but I quickly saw that it is truly my son spelling out these words. I learned so much more than I anticipated. I finally understand my son in ways I truly did not think I ever would. And now the future is so bright knowing that someday I and everyone else will get to know his thoughts as well as he improves. Thank you Dana for all of your amazing insight!

Our daughter is 13, and has tried many different approaches and tools for communication over the years. We have just started to introduce her to the Spellers method, and already she is engaging with it. It feels like the first time we’ve ever had a solid path forward. Thank you!!!

S2C has been life changing our son! We are so blessed to have such an amazing group of therapists that have pushed our son and always believed in him.

Our 7 year old autistic, nonspeaking son has been receiving services at Spellers Center Tampa for about 18 months now. He has made slow and steady progress since we started working with Dana and Melanie. Every session we work on getting his body engaged in purposeful motor with the goal of him getting more regulated and in control so that he can learn to Spell to communicate with us. The work he has done at this amazing center and his growth have us feeling energized and hopeful for the future - what a gift! He now has begun his journey Spelling, and we will be forever grateful to the amazing practitioners and staff at Spellers Tampa. Thank you for everything you do and for giving families hope and direction - your work is priceless!

My child has received occupational therapy services at this center with Ms.Jasmine since August/September 2022. We have had a great experience.

Spellers center is by far the best place we have received services for our daughter. Dana and her team are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Not only did Dana get us started on our spelling journey, she taught us the importance of building ocular motor strength, creating a brain-body connection, and presuming competence every step of the way. Our daughter loves coming in for her sessions, and we always walk away feeling a little more confident. We've been through a lot of different services, and nothing has compared to spellers center
